Godwin came in for a quote and totally blew it. In our opinion if there was a time when "Godwin's Got it!" that time is long - long gone. We have had several bad experiences with them. The Godwin crew on our jobs were not professional, personable, reliable... the list goes on. In fact we STILL have NOT received a quote for our water heater as they promised, now 2 weeks out...? But Ferrer Plumbing did a fantastic job. Anthony in one quick call, made an appointment to see our situation, he was great. He knew what he was doing, and explained everything in a way that average people can understand. The solution was perfect. I had to keep calling and making a longer story short they finally came out two months later. They cleaned the spots with cleaner that didn't work so I bought something to try myself. I worked at it and got about half the stain off but still bad. The stain was baked in by the sun by this time. It was on them to clean. I'm 73 female and this is ridiculous. Their customer service has a lot of room for improvement!

The pricing isn't by hourly, but by a software they use to find the best rates for the job required. Ultimately, I've voiced my concerns of how that system works and what I think could change but they are sticking with the way the price structure works, as it works for them. I am happy with the solution that was offered to me, and would use this company again, but more so for serious issues that require an expert to come out. When booking the appointment, it was explained to me that it was $85 to have the team come out, and an additional $125 for diagnostic of the situation of my leaky pipe, which could be used towards the maintenance cost. The determination made by the technician is that the pack nuts needed to be screwed tighter, and it took the technician less than 2 minutes to do so. For this labor, I was charged $220, and the charge is not itemized, it is just marked as misc. - and I had no option to just tighten it myself, as it already cost me $125 for the technician to diagnose the issue. Since I was charged $220 for 2-3 minutes of labor, that's about $6600 per hour that they charge. If we did just the $95 on top of the diagnostic, that's $2,850 per hour for their labor. I understand they are a business and I am not saying I expected the work to be free, but for the fact it was an additional $95 for him to tighten the pack nuts in 2-3 minutes is crazy. I asked about why it costs so much / the charge couldn't be a flat $125 since it was a simple solution, the technician told me it was a liability if he didn't charge me for his work, and since he had to screw TWO pack nuts, that's where the extra charge came in. If you go through this company, just expect a labor cost of $47.50 per minute.

He also found cracks in our furnace heat exchange and we were in danger of Co2 leaks unless we replaced the furnace. He was extremely nice and gave us a quote to replace both units. Sound familiar?? We were smart and got a couple other quotes. Turns out the furnace is fine and that the part he charged us for on the AC was never actually replaced (only a less expensive part). My advice is to steer clear of this guy.

They kept promoting the 90 day warranty, which I did not care about. Apparently, there was a coupon, so they gave me $30 off. Later, I found a $75 dollar off coupon online. All in all, I should have rented a motorized snake for $30 from Home Depot and did the job myself. The service was prompt, adequate quality but way too expensive.

Next, Landyn showed up the next morning with bells on ready to go. He tried opening my drain with no luck. Told me I'd need a major repair. $10,600 for a new liner . That hit hard. BUT, Landyn was able to get me financed for $9055! The boss decided that was good enough; waived the rest and scheduled my appt. for the very next day! 9:00am the whole crew showed up! 5 of the most professional, well mannered, hardest working men I've seen in a long time! These guys were The Best!!! The boys went to work. About 30 minutes in they discovered that because my house was over 100 years old it had what is known as a "house trap". They could not run the new liner through a house trap. The house trap would need to be dug up and replaced. (Mind you this was not part of my $9000 repair. This wall all extra.) I waited a bit as they told me the boss was on his way. In my experience this meant one thing: he was coming to explain to me this was going to cost more money! WRONG!! Boss shows up (Nice guy as well!) and tells me; we will be having words with Landyn but if we gotta dig it up, we'll get the boys to digging. The phrase I kept hearing from these guys was "The price is the price". Integrity is the word that comes to mind. So, the boys started digging. These guys dug a hole 9 feet deep that was not part of the deal; took them the better part of a day! My bill never changed; there was no discussion of it changing. Blew my mind. Long story short: House trap removed. New pipe and liner installed. Everything was cleaned up and after it rained you can't tell they were ever here. I cannot speak highly enough for this place. After he left, a leak sprung in our basement, which we figured out only happens when that same sink is used. We had to shop vac and clean the basement and I called the next morning. They said they would send someone out. I was super calm about it, totally trusting they would make it right. They sent the SAME tech out. So of course he starts saying its not his fault and there is nothing he can do. I call the business and they say they can have their manager call me in ONE TO TWO BUSINESS DAYS. I tell them that is unacceptable, I need a supervisor out here tomorrow. They say they can send someone out but it'll be an entirely new charge. Stay away from the business. They are cheats and only want to create new problems so they can upcharge you.
