We had a great experience all the way around. Schaafsma Heating & Cooling provides exceptional…read moreservice, and my experience with Brayden was outstanding from start to finish. I was able to get same-day service for our air conditioner, which was greatly appreciated. Brayden is knowledgeable, experienced, professional, and incredibly kind. He took the time to explain everything in a simple, easy-to-understand way, making sure I felt informed and comfortable with the process. What impressed me most, though, was the way he treated our anxious, overprotective dog. He was patient, calm, compassionate, and instantly earned her trust. That level of kindness says so much about the kind of person he is. Brayden is an exceptional representative of Schaafsma Heating & Cooling. His expertise, professionalism, and genuine care for both his customers and their families truly make the company shine. If every employee is like Brayden, Schaafsma is doing something very right.

AVOID this business. Based on my experience, most Schaafsma employees are clueless about their…read morework. Our water heater, installed nine years ago, began leaking in fall 2025 and we called Schaafsma for service. Their inspector determined that our heater had failed, so we spent $5000 on a replacement. The leak returned within a day of installation. A third employee appeared and suggested that the previous installation was faulty and fiddled around for a while. The leak returned one day later. Another inspector arrived, and he was the first person who knew what he was doing. He took one look at the expansion tank nearby, lifted it with one hand and explained that it was flooded, no longer functional and the cause of our leak. Another crew installed a replacement tank and the leaking ceased. This is my question: Why didn't the first inspector bother to conduct a simple check of the expansion tank, which is located next to the heater? Checking the tank required just one hand, no tools, and ten seconds of his time. So thanks to Schaafsma we purchased a $5000 heater when our problem was a $375 tank. I explained this fiasco over the phone and agreed to pay their second invoice but I have serious questions about their reliability. Apparently the person on the phone stopped listening after the first half of my reply, because the only response from Schaafsma was to text and mail demands for the final payment (which I paid today). As their Yelp star average reflects, Schaafsma places a higher value on $375 than on their reputation. If you are satisfied with 1-of-5 odds for a competent employee to show up at your home, Schaafsma will provide just that. If you don't wish to spend $5000 to solve a $375 problem, I strongly recommend that you seek another service.

They added a pressure relief tank and turn the heat down on the tank. They even cleaned up the mess they didn't make! These guys were so fast and professional. I can't say enough about their level of service, and speed to take care of our issue. The price was fair I blieve given the situation. It was around $850 to fix an issue that probably would have cost us thousands had they not fixed it.

A woman from your business called to cancel my appointment 15 minutes before it was supposed to take place. I explained in detail the I had an electric central AC and heating system and that the compressor is located on the roof of the building. I repeated explained that I do not have neighbors above or below me. My electric central AC and heating system is located in a utility room on the 2nd floor of my three story unit. The USPS insists on putting Apt 107 instead of unit 107. My address was provided to you on Monday, but nobody was concerned about my apartment like home until 15 minutes before my appointment. I do not live in an apartment like condo. My condo building is three stories high and I live in a townhouse styled condo that is three stories and an end unit. My AC compressor that is located on the roof is easily accessible to tenants and service technicians. The lack of knowledge by the woman that called to cancel, her supervisor and the technician is an internal problem and not something a conversation with me will solve. If I ran Vredevoogd I would be looking for three new qualified employees. Your employee seem to lack knowledge on very basic information about electric central AC and heating systems and AC compressor located on the roof instead of being ground level. I was without AC for three days. Thank God another company fit me in that same afternoon. They diagnosed and fixed the problem in 45 minutes. Three days without AC in 90 plus temperatures and it could have been many more because Vredevoogd canceled 15 minutes before my appointment.
