I cannot recommend High Point Heating & Cooling…read more About seven years ago, Brian Visser, the owner of High Point Heating & Cooling, installed a new furnace and A/C system for us. This year, the A/C stopped working. Brian came out, confirmed there was almost no pressure in the system, and told us this indicated a leak. We scheduled a return visit for him to locate and repair it. He never showed up. Calls and messages were not returned. We also spoke with another technician at High Point--his son--who said Brian would reach out. He never did. At that point, we were completely ghosted. We ended up calling another local HVAC company. They quickly diagnosed the issue as a leaking evaporator coil--a part that should have been covered under a 10‑year manufacturer warranty. Unfortunately, we learned that the unit had never been registered by High Point at installation, so the extended warranty was never activated. That single oversight cost us over $1,000 out of pocket for the part. Beyond the financial hit, the lack of follow‑through and accountability was extremely disappointing. Brian did not stand behind his work, did not communicate with us when there was a problem, and left us to deal with the consequences. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Deciding the time had come to upgrade our 34 year old furnaces, I began researching furnaces and…read moresoliciting bids. My business partner, who is an electrical engineer/licensed master electrician, recommended Hulst as they did a good job installing his air conditioning system. (Our business is building diesel fueled heat drying systems for water damage restoration.) The Hulst people are friendly and quick to respond. Their quotation was both very fair and the lowest bid. They offer the Daikin brand furnaces which have a good reputation. We bought the high efficiency furnaces with the two stage burners and ECM motors and added wifi linked thermostats for programming and making setting adjustments using a smart phone. Rather than having a zone heating system for the two floors of our walkout home, we have two separate furnaces. Doing so enables the furnaces to be sized for the heat load of each floor instead of having a single large furnace capable of heating the entire house. The Hulst technicians installed both furnaces in a day. Their workmanship was very good and they were thorough. They explained the working of the system to us, set up the phone apps, and made a follow up visit to make sure everything was just right.

Fortunately, the emergency shut-off systems were working on the furnace and shut it down due to extreme heat build-up within the furnace or carbon monoxide detection. They added a pressure relief tank and turn the heat down on the tank. They even cleaned up the mess they didn't make! These guys were so fast and professional. It was around $850 to fix an issue that probably would have cost us thousands had they not fixed it.

The USPS insists on putting Apt 107 instead of unit 107. My address was provided to you on Monday, but nobody was concerned about my apartment like home until 15 minutes before my appointment. I do not live in an apartment like condo. My condo building is three stories high and I live in a townhouse styled condo that is three stories and an end unit. My AC compressor that is located on the roof is easily accessible to tenants and service technicians. The lack of knowledge by the woman that called to cancel, her supervisor and the technician is an internal problem and not something a conversation with me will solve. If I ran Vredevoogd I would be looking for three new qualified employees. Your employee seem to lack knowledge on very basic information about electric central AC and heating systems and AC compressor located on the roof instead of being ground level. I was without AC for three days. Thank God another company fit me in that same afternoon. They diagnosed and fixed the problem in 45 minutes. Three days without AC in 90 plus temperatures and it could have been many more because Vredevoogd canceled 15 minutes before my appointment.
