The original shower door was approximately 20 years old and definitely showing wear. Additionally, it was one of the old framed metal doors that also had 2 panels connected, one of which was at an acute 45 degree angle, making it more difficult to replace. I spoke on the phone with Julia and also Elizabeth who were very helpful and suggested that a full replacement was easy to accomplish. Glass Accents quickly gave me an preliminary estimate, sent Ben out to measure, and provided several options for the hardware. Ben brought out several finishes to show me to try and match other finishes in my bathroom. When none of these finishes satisfied my preferences, Ben quickly suggested that they could obtain additional finishes with some detective work. A few days later, Ben dropped by and showed me the two additional finishes, of which one was really close to my existing fixtures. Therefore, the order was placed. In a period of less than 2 weeks, I received a call from Elizabeth telling me that they had received the glass and had a cancellation in their schedule, offering to come out to begin the installation that afternoon. Within a few hours, Sean and Ben arrived and began the removal and installation of my new shower door. This spilled over into the next day, but that was not an issue since I have a shower in a second bathroom. The following day, the tag team of Sean and Ben completed the installation. I was astonished at how well the new shower door and panel looked compared to the existing one. It was literally night and day! Ben had to make one additional trip out for a minor adjustment to the door to have it close completely without the narrow gap that was present. This did the trick! Overall, I am rating Glass Accents a "10" for customer service, professionalism, advice and flexibility during the selection process, and attentiveness to satisfy my desire for a new shower door. I can't comment on the competitive bid, as I was so impressed with their initial response, that I didn't even bother to obtain a second bid. The problem came when on delivery when they unwrapped the windows there was a chip in a largest pane and a broken screen on a smaller window. No fault of this installer. They told us that they would arrange for the repair through Milguard's warranty. This was mid-March. Mid-May and we still hadn't heard anything. So we started calling. We were told a few different things each time we called. A manager would call us back- they never did. It was up to Milguard and they had no control- turned out not to be true. I even asked them at that time, if I needed to call Milguard if they could just point me in the right direction, again no returned call. Finally last week (late June) my husband went in person. That day I got an email from Milguard stating the ticket had been created. 3 months and multiple phone calls and they had never even put in the ticket. Once the ticket was put in the screen was ordered and shipped within 2 days through Milguard. If anyone had ever bothered to call us back, we probably could have figured this out the first time we called. And mistakes happen, we would have understood. But being told things that were not true and having no follow up was not acceptable. 5 stars for product and installation. 0 stars for follow up with customer service. Cannot recommend. We had 8 more windows and a slider to replace, needless to say we will look elsewhere.
