I recently had C.O.G.D install a Liftmaster 8500 Jackshaft on my 12' x 14' motor home garage door. When I called them I immediately was put in touch with Josh (one of their sales reps) and received a quote, which was detailed and competitive. They graciously accommodated my scheduled and did the install based on my needs. Tony, the installer, showed on time. He was courteous, professional and explained all the components of the Jackshaft, he even programmed my remote for me. The Jackshaft works great and is so quite you cant even hear it working. It was easy doing business with them and there were no surprises. UPDATE - Brokentop Garage Doors in Bend came out to my house. Mike (the service technician) replaced the rubber strip with one of higher quality and better design than the one that originally came with the door. Needed my garage door opener replaced. got a quote seemed high, but I agreed. Paid the required deposit. When the guys were installing, I asked how many remotes would I get. One asked "how many do you want", I said "4 would be nice". He said "we'll get you 4 then". When I got the final bill, there was a charge for 3 remotes $77. each! $77 are you kidding me ! It took a week before the technician could come out to service our garage door but it was well worth the wait! He called10 minutes before our appointment and arrived promptly on time. He was very professional and courteous. He informed us of what he found needed to be done. We asked a few questions regarding replacing the springs (since the door was over 30 years old). He gave us his estimate in time to install the new springs and the cost for everything. It was several hundred dollars less than an earlier estimate we'd gotten from another company and he was able to complete the job the same day! Consumer beware, to say we our disappointed with the communication and integrity of this company is an understatement. We were given a quote that was not a true replacement of all the compromised parts and Josh never even communicated that one of the compromised parts could not be replaced because it was obsolete due to the age of the garage door opener. Only after the work was completed and we questioned it did Josh email us and suggest that the system may need to be replaced, but this was never communicated to us or even suggested in any communication therefore we didn't have a choice to make a different decision. I know these guys are good, they installed garage controllers for me before. I just called to get help with one opener that refused to open one door, and the emergency cord was not releasing the door. Due to conditions locally, I suppose, they declined servicing the unit they installed, citing no staff and would not schedule me. read more

Spring/pulley system failed on our garage door. Called Central Oregon Garage Door and booked an appointment for two weeks out but was on their waiting list. They called back with a cancellation and came the next day (New Years Eve). They diagnosed the problem but didn't have all the parts so scheduled for the coming week. Again they called with a cancellation and came a day earlier than expected. The two technicians displayed a lot of expertise. They had to make a second trip a few days later to fix the eye sensors. At first they charged a second service call visit but after some discussion we agreed that the issue wasn't resolved on the first trip so the problem was fixed without an additional service charge. I scheduled an appt with this company and they did not show up. When I inquired why they said I wasn't on the schedule and no one had heard of me. They said I was confused and had probably talked to a different company. I then quoted the pricing back to them and it matched their typical opener installation pricing. I've also used this company before at a previous address and knew exactly who I was calling. One of their techs even lives near me.
