They have a great selection and knowledgeable salespeople. Don't forget for a moment that they are working on commission. I have shopped there for decades and have purchased at least 6 cameras and countless accessories there. I went in recently to look for a mirrorless camera to replace my ageing D500. Thinking I could trust friendly familiar faces, I purchased a Z50. They knew what I intended to use it for and should have known the Z50 was a lousy replacement. I've now sold the Z50 and lost $500 for trusting them. They refused to take it back because it was just past the two week return period found in fine print on my receipt. I won't say you shouldn't shop there, but if you do you are just another fish in the shark tank. I will never trust them again. And I am finding it very convenient to shop online for the accessories I need for an upcoming trip. read more

The photo lab manager contacted me upon my arrival to EP and offered me a sincere apology, she refunded the full amount of the print and offered to print it correctly. I collected the print upon my return to Austin and sent it to my aunt, Mom's sister who was very grateful for the canvas print. Thank you for your response. read more

Must be nice to have so much business you don't have to provide customer service. Called in to get information on a camera. Granted it was only a $700 camera. Maybe if I was interested in a more expensive camera they would have been more willing to help. I called in and got a pleasant person to answer quickly. So far so good. She didn't have any knowledge of the Sony camera I was interested in and said they don't normally stock them but they had one in stock? She said that one of her colleagues had one and could probably answer my questions. I asked for the price , it was retail and that's it but at that point I was looking for more information. I wasn't trying to grind them for price. 14 minutes later on hold for her colleague I hung up. I called back and asked for the General Manager to give feedback as I am a serious buyer trying to decide between 2 cameras and thought they should have the feedback. "Michael" the "Sales Manager" called back quickly but I asked for the GM. Guess I wasn't important enough as a customer and potential buyer to warrant a call back from him or her. Michael said they did not have the camera in stock but could special order it. He shared some knowledge which was appreciated but I had a couple other items I wanted clarification on. Mike said one of his team members would call me back with the answers. I was surprised that Mike didn't offer to help me further as I was already upset for being on hold for 14 minutes and counting but I said please have them call me . I never received a call back that day. The questions I had would not have taken all day to sort out. I finally called SONY directly to get the answers. It did not take long . At this point based on the features and reviews of the 2 cameras I will be buying the Sony I called them about. Based on their lack of customer service and knowledge it won't be from them. read more

We've been shopping at Precision for years now and we are always so pleased. They're really the best. But recently we had, hands down, the GREATEST shopping experience we've ever had at Precision. We have been thinking about making the switch from Canon's line to Sony's for a long time now and have been in several times to discuss with the staff and look at the options. This last time though, ETHAN STRONG assisted us and we walked out with our biggest purchase to date. Ethan was so knowledgeable, organized, and incredibly patient and helpful all the way through. He walked us through all the options, heard all of our concerns and answered every single question without batting an eye (and I ask a LOT of ?s). He never made us feel rushed or pressured in the slightest. In fact, when other employees tried to give us their two-cents, he noticed that we just got overwhelmed and flustered, so he put everything back on the shelf and said so kindly and positively, "I think everything just got messier than it needed to be. Let's start over and reset," and then he walked us through it all again back from the beginning to reorganize our brains and sort through the chaos. He completely understood when we said we needed to sleep on it and weren't ready to purchase right away, and he gave us some recommendations of things to look up to help us make our minds up. There are many people at Precision that we love working with, but every time I go in from now on I'm going to specifically ask for Ethan first. He was so fluid in how he answered our questions, his guidance and input were incredibly helpful, he never derailed the conversation or added unnecessary bits and he made sure the conversation was structured so that we could categorize and keep track of things in our minds. The whole experience left me feeling more confident with my purchase than I ever had before. That's a big deal when you're shelling out money for big investments like camera gear. We highly recommend you visit with Ethan if you're on the fence or looking to buy! And we love Precision Camera! read more

I'm afraid this review of the Photo lab will not be a positive one. I dropped off a couple of sets of negatives on January 17/18 and by January 31st they weren't anywhere close to being scanned. I also dropped off a couple rolls of 120 film on January 23rd for developing/scanning and as of the January 31 they were still just sitting there and had not even been sent out for developing. At that rate, of course, it would never have been done. Judge for yourself, I guess. read more

On a weekday, and the store was not busy, there was one person being helped--I waited 25 minutes in the service department to get a simple question answered. Then I decided to make a purchase, and the clerk was evidently having a bad day and didn't even bother to say thank you. Customer service matters! read more

Let me just add to the list of customer service complaints for Precision Camera. My wife's complaint. (Echoed by friends commenting online) "The guys at Precision Camera are assholes" "Rude" 8/12/2017 "I know! I went in to get information about buying lenses and a new camera and they were complete jerks! I haven't been back since" My wife uses quality cameras for work. Photos that are posted online with a big name travel website. So, she already has a go-to camera store. She's sorry she stopped here instead of making the drive to the place she trusts. This visit could have been repeat business, instead it's a Yelp review with a big thumbs down. read more

Wow! I thought I was the only person who found these people condescending and less than helpful. I've been a photographer for nearly 50 years, and If you can find a different place to buy camera equipment and services, I highly recommend it. Oh, and whatever you do, do NOT use their repair services. I had my camera serviced before a month-long trip to Hawaii one year. The camera worked perfectly when it went in the shop, and when I got off the plane in Oahu -- completely shot. When I returned to Austin I went in to talk to Precision, and what do you think they said? "Of course we had nothing to do with it!" So, not only did I have to pay for the service that broke my camera -- and not take a single photo in Hawaii -- but then I had to pay to get the shutter replaced. But wait, there's more. Several years later the wife and I went to Paris for her 40th birthday. The exact same thing happened. The camera worked perfectly when I put it into the shop, and was completely useless when I got to Paris. Did they in any way make good on this? Absolutely not! Now, let's talk about their new store. To control their customers they've installed signage that directs people to stand in one place for repair services, and to form another line for photo services. But, people don't want to wait in the line, so they simply walk up to the cash register and demand service. Do the employees direct these people to the back of the line? Absolutely not. So, the only way to get any service at the place is to do what other people do: completely ignore the rules and cut in front of everyone else. Austin deserves better. read more

I purchased an item and got home to realize it was missing bits and pieces. So I come in on Sunday, grabbed a number waited 5ish minutes (since it wasn't super busy maybe 40 people in the store) an older gentleman with glasses and baulding on top asked me what he could do to help. I explained to him the issue and he asked if I got the item from a "table", I said yes to which he responds "the items come as are" not seeing a sign stating this I was unaware. He then snidely comments "So what do you want, to return it or something?" Taken back by how curt and snide that comment was I said I'd like to see if there is a defuser for the beauty dish since on the box it states defuser included. He went and talked with a coworker and came back stating that the ceramic middle bit was the defuser. Simple mistake I thought it was a fabric that goes the dish. He then asked what I wanted to do. I apologized and said I'll hold onto it to which his response was "Good Luck". I get people have bad days I've worked in the service industry before I get it. But to be that curt and rude when it's not terribly busy is ridiculous. Hope that guys day gets better... read more

I went in today to buy a lens for my camera I got a number and as I waited to be called on my number still standing where they can see me, as other customers came around me were being helped on instead of me and the associates didn't even bother calling out the numbers, I have no idea why they have the number tickets if they are not going to use it. Then I called the manager over he heard me and after all he can say do you want me to fire them and laughed as he walked away. I don't want them fired but hey I didn't feel like I was treated right. read more

Precision Camera is a gem of a store. They are busy for a good reason: they are experts at what they do and they offer wonderful customer service. This is the place to come if you are just getting ready to dip your toes in photography or are a long-time professional. We've had prints and enlargements done and have always been happy with the results. It's such an amazing resource to have here in Austin. I'm thrilled they've opened a South Austin store! read more

I can't tell you how happy i am with precision camera. i called to set up a small photo room- they were amazing. they came over to evaluate the space, help me select the strobe lights i needed (did not push for the most expensive stuff) and help me set it up. a huge shout out to Mr Park Street - Park delivered one of the most outstanding customer service experience i've ever had. He was incredibly helpful and even after the installation was completed he was available for some advice on additional settings. I will continue to come to Precision Camera even if I can find the same product a bit cheaper online. Their knowledge and service is well worth the price difference. I used to live in Atlanta GA and ALL the camera/photo stores in that massive 5M people metropolis closed. Every single one of them. I urge everyone that lives in Austin to support Precision Camera. Huge shout out to the service department. Everyone I've dealt with has been overwhelmingly nice and they've taken care of numerous issues from sensor cleaning to tripod repair for me. Super helpful staff! Always willing to take time to fully explain equipment. Great place to purchase or rent equipment.

Precision always does a good job with my printed pictures and I also try to support them with other purchases (and avoid big corporations for film and gifts). Yesterday, I went in concerned about my camera card since it appeared to be damaged. I simply wanted to see if it could still be used and buy another one. Not only did Robert exchange the memory card for free (and explained he would write the company to get it exchanged on my behalf), but he also offered to transfer the photos from the old card to the new card. That visit went far above my expectations! read more

This is a review for the service and rental department... I have been shopping here for over 10 years. A solid photo store for all your camera needs, with the latest gear and models to geek out over. I have done a little printing and rentals, but not much. In preparation for a big trip, I noticed an issue with my Fuji XT2 that seemed to be a glitch with one of my fixed lenses. I brought it in to be sent to Fuji and dropped it off, renting an identical one in it's place for my trip. Needless to say, when I got home, the camera was still hyper autofocusing and whirring and clicking. I brought the lens back AND my camera to straighten it out. The camera was not doing this with the zoom lens, a real head scratcher. After baffling a few clerks, the service department manager Noel sat down with me, genuinely resolved to help me get to the root of the problem and spent half an hour trying various combinations and sincerely helping me. A real rarity in retail these days! In the end we reset my whole camera setup to the factory default and so far, so good, the glitch is gone! A mystery, but the patience, sincerity and time that Noel delivered was above and beyond. Thank you!! read more

So we are relatively new to Austin, 5 years, but my husband and I love Precision Camera. My husband who is an active amateur photographer regularly goes to Precision to get expert advice, and shop great items and good deals. I am not a photographer, but always get my prints done at Precision. They're excellent quality, everyone there is incredibly friendly, and the orders are done quickly and correctly. If ever I have had an issue with sizing, or the way prints came out, they are quick to remedy. Also, if you have kids, like we do, there is Terra toys and a great comic book shop in the same complex. The photographer in the group can shop at Precision while the kids go to more kid friendly places. I recommend anyone to Percision camera. Glad I have this option in Austin read more

This is a review for the print lab. Twice I have had photos developed and they just completely neglected to let me know when they were ready. Finally, I called them and they said they had been ready for a while. The print quality is good, but you might have to call them constantly to find out when your prints are ready. I'm thinking about trying Austin Camera and Imaging from now on for my regular 35mm development. read more

Here I am, once more! As always, I don't write reviews unless the service is truly exceptional or exceptionally horrible. I'm happy and proud to announce that this review is the former! My first two visits to the store were... less than stellar. I hadn't bought a camera in 10 years and I had a lot of questions that weren't addressed by the worker who was helping me... I left feeling disheartened because I was so excited about getting a camera, only to leave just as confused and empty-handed as I was when I came in. After the second visit, I figured I'd write an e-mail to the store manager, Gregg. I didn't want to leave a bad review but I wanted to inform him as to what I had been through. And when I came in today... WOW. They didn't know until a hour halfway into my visit that I was the one who wrote an e-mail. Tori helped me and, Dear Lord Above, she is the BEST associate I've ever had the pleasure to work with in a LONG time! Soon everyone was just swinging by, offering help, cracking jokes; just having fun while working! They answered ALL of my questions and even went out to the warehouse to take an example of a low-light photo for me! Gregg is a phenomenal person. He came and started chatting with me and asking about what camera I was looking into. After a while of talking, I mentioned that I'd visited two times before with not so great results... And he goes, "You're not Rachel, are you?" BINGO, SONNY JIM. I've all too often seen a manager's demeanor change drastically when they realize that they are dealing with a customer that had a bad experience. But he didn't. He had the same energy and gusto and passion that he did when he first talked to me! It was really refreshing and great to see! Unfortunately, the camera that I had my heart set on got sold earlier in the day... I was pretty heartbroken, but Gregg and Tori worked with me to get me set up!!! I was able to get a bag, SD card, and accessories that I wouldn't have gotten otherwise! And the whole time, everyone was so pleasant and fun! It honestly felt like hanging out with family. Well, a family OBSESSED with cameras. Although, to me, that sounds like a perfect family. I know that everyone already knows how wonderful this shop is but I'm here to confirm! Go there right now! Ask for Tori! Ask for Gregg! Tell 'em Rachel sent you and that she's never been happier with a purchase in her entire life. read more

Anger. The emotion I felt when waiting fruitlessly for the bartender at a local establishment to find my camera battery that i specifically called ahead and asked about. Yes, I'm the idiot that left it there. But they're the idiots who said they had it and then didnt. Enter Precision Camera. I called these guys, a super helpful dude named Richard found out that they had the battery (yes in stock) and a universal charger (also in stock.) So i drove down Lamar, popped in, was helped out by another dude who knew exactly what I wanted and left, about $70 lighter. This is what i really liked (noticed): No lame teen angst behind the counter - these are all old school camera dudes. Gray hairs abound but so does knowledge. I can appreciate a group of folks that have worked at a shop and in the industry and in customer service long enough to carry on a genial convo, ring up my stuff and get me all learned up at the same time. read more

Wow. Some of the staff are in serious need of customer service training/attitude adjustments. I am extremely easy-going and you have to really work at it to piss me off. PCV managed to do so today. Took in a video camera. I was waiting in line and a young woman motioned me over and said, "I can help you here." I thought, "Cool, we're off to a good start." Things shortly went way, waaaaay downhill. I explained the issue we were having and was promptly told in a snotty tone of voice, "We don't do repair in-house. We send it out to a technician in the city and they charge a minimum of $50." Oooooookay. Well, I need the camera so that is no problem. She inputs the info and says, "Okay, so I just need the payment." Wow. I need this kind of arrangement - you pay me first and then I'll do the work. We have one credit card for my department at work, so I asked if I could call in with the number. I explained this to her and she said, "Well, I'm not supposed to take anything in without payment." So I call a co-worker and tell her, "Precision won't take the camera without and up-front payment, can I get the card number?" The woman interrupts me and says, "It's not us. It's the technician." As I pointed out, the end result is pretty much the same. My co-worker offered to have someone call me with the number - as soon as I hung up the young woman starts in on how they have to do this because they have a whole room full of equipment that hasn't been picked up blah blah blah. In the meantime a co-worker asked her a question and she gave him the same snotty attitude, ending with 'that's not my call." To his credit, he said,"Let me ask the manager because it IS his call." You go, buddy! So, rather than store the info and wait for the number, we have to start all over again at what is now the third register in about 20 minutes. When she finished her defensive little story I said, "Wow, even from businesses?" Bad idea. I get more snotty attitude. At last I leave the store and as I'm driving off she's coming out with the camera case, which she'd had on the counter next to her. I open my car door and she says, "Yeah, we can't keep all that stuff." I had to bite my tongue til it bled to keep from going off. So today I got the whole list of what Precision DOESN'T do - I'd say anything remotely resembling customer service is at the top of the list. If you want the name of the young woman I dealt with, message me and I will give it to you offline, she should be glad I am not posting it for the world to see. read more

Why do some people receive better customer service than others? Is it the way we dress? Facial expression? Skin color? Height? I've been to this store twice and each time, I am overlooked by staff to help others'. More than 3 staff members neglected to ask me if I needed help yet ask others around me. I stood by the lenses in awe as other people who came after me were approached. It's quite frustrating as I read other reviewers receive the same treatment. I'll leave my review to be open to change as there isn't many large camera stores in town so I may have to use this store in the future. So maybe they'll warm up to me as they see me dropping cash like Biggie dropped beats. But until then, to the employees there: Don't be so judgmental, that's not welcome here in Austin. read more

***This is just about the photo lab, and my experience with processing. Everyone that works the floor or in repairs seems to genuinely know what they're doing and actually care about photography. I have never in my life had such a horrible experience with anything regarding photography. Let me start off by saying that I used to love precision. It is the place I got my first camera and I had been a loyal dedicated patron over the years. My experience in May has soured me on the entire store and company. I had come back from a 5 month long trip to Italy and had 4 rolls of film. I had been saving for this trip for over 5 years, and I was looking forward to having my memories preserved. I had 3 rolls of color and one roll of black and white. I did two separate transactions just to ensure that the rolls didn't get mixed up. I went home and waited patiently for about a week, until I got a meek voicemail from the photo manager Chris saying that there was a problem with my roll of film and that it hadn't been able to be processed. I was very sad to hear this news. I tried to call him back, but the guy wouldn't answer. I went in as soon as I could and asked to speak to the manager. He was on his lunch break which lasted 30 minutes past when he was supposed to be back. I waited around and conversed with the staff, and they told me that the manager, had processed my black and white film as color and therefore all my images had been lost. Is this man blind? No. He is just incompetent, and to behave and handle film in such an amateur way is not a quality that I would want in a photo lab manager. All his staff that I talked to agrees. When he finally got back to his lunch break he offered me a very insincere apology and gave me a roll of black and white film to replace the roll he destroyed. The roll is not worth the same amount as the roll that they destroyed even. Think twice before giving your film over to the photo lab here. If you do make sure one of the employees that actually knows what they are doing is in charge. Do not let this man near your film. **edit I was charged for color rolls. The employees working there said that it was Chris that handled my film. read more

I bought my Nikon today for my trip to Kenya coming up. I truly recommend you doing some research on cameras before coming into this place - which I did. The sales guy was polite, but I feel like he could have engaged a little more i.e. showing me lower end and high end (difference between the functions, lens, etc). I told him the price range I was looking for, but he waited for me to point things out for me to check out rather than giving me the different types of models to test out. I don't know if he was in a hurry, tired, over it, or that it was a Sunday. I was just at Best Buy on Research before coming here. Sadly BB ran out of the Canon model I was looking for. Should you come here and buy your camera? No. You can honestly go to Best Buy/Frys to test out your camera - purchase there or on B&H Photo. Why did I come here? Because I am a local and just wanted to support them. Plus I have a trip coming up soon and didn't want to drive elsewhere anymore since Best Buy sold out of the camera I wanted. Would I come back here in the future: Probably not. Their prices are full retail by the way compared to other stores and online. is it good for rentals? YES! Advice for the owner? Work on customer service. Engage with your customers - beginners or experts. Make them feel like they really need the camera, lens, or flash to capture the best moments of their lives. Show them the difference between a $200 or a $400 camera. Educate your customers. That my friend....will give you great ratings on Yelp and more customers walking in your store. read more

It's time for an update to my Precision Review. They had an eventful last year, and a couple of things are pretty awesome. First, they moved from Lamar Blvd to Anderson Lane, which is much closer to me and much easier to get to. Bonus. Next, the new showroom is pretty cool, and when I went to take a lighting class, I found that their classroom set up is just about perfect. I really enjoyed my class, the instructor was knowledgeable, funny and supportive, and the classroom/studio itself was great. So nice work Precision, you've certainly upped your game. See you at a class again soon. read more

*sigh* Precision Camera. Where do I begin? I've been shopping at Precision off and on for the past fifteen years. As a photography student they were the only shop in town so I was forced to shop there. I, like many other reviewers here felt that they were often (but not always) pretentious and know-it-alls when it came to photography. I am no expert, but to be treated so poorly when trying to learn about photography was disheartening and unpleasant. I recently gave them another chance. It had been a few years and I was hoping it was a few bad apples. Nope. The store has not changed. I tried to return an item and was denied because it was outside of their FIFTEEN day window. Fifteen days??! I can't think of any shop that has such a short time for returns. And this wasn't camera equipment this was a camera case. Not damaged and absolutely returnable. Didn't even offer store credit. The employee basically said he can't do anything and that it's a local shop. That "local" shop story doesn't work when your customers have a LOT of options when it comes to photography equipment and supplies. And now I am the proud owner of a camera case that is expensive and useless. To offer no options and be completely apathetic towards your customers doesn't work anymore. They'll never see my money ever again. read more

This is a pretty nifty place apparently if you're a middle-aged well dressed male. Or at least I would assume so as over my three visits this has been the only demographic I've seen receiving attentive service... ...however, for the rest of us, my experience has been pretty mediocre. Two out of the three times I visited, the lens I was looking for was out of stock or wasn't a part of their typical stock. Fine. Its a brick and mortar store and limited stock happens when you're trying to stay local. However, the sales representatives seem completely ready to dodge any follow up questions or helpful advice when looking for alternatives and can't seem to get potential buyers out of their store fast enough. And forget asking questions about potentially trying a lens out before purchase; the insinuation of this seems to be met with death glares and shrug offs. This has been fairly typical of the other women photographers I've spoken to that have visited this location, one reporting that a sales representative even went as far to call her cheap. Another reported being ignored when directly asking questions. One star back because at their previous location I was looking for a replacement part that I didn't know them name of and the sales representative managed to guess by way of my semi-embarrassing flailing pantomimes what I was referring to. That takes skill. read more

Given Gregg's response I've downgraded this to one star. If you want locals to patronize your store, you still need to earn their business. Your response to my original post was to argue over the offer I was given for the camera I attempted to sell or trade. Just for the sake of argument, let's say Precision Camera's offer was not out of line. I still spent almost 1.5 hours in your store attempting to sell or trade a camera dealing with folks who seemed to keep changing the store policy. Also, you failed to even address the outright rude behavior my wife and I received from the salesman who sold me the flash. You could have of apologized for the hassle of dealing the salesman with an attitude or the amount of time I wasted in your store trying to get an offer to buy my used camera. Instead, you insult my intelligence by informing me that wholesale pricing for a used camera is going to be less than I paid retail. Most people, including myself, are already aware of this. I though the purpose of Yelp was for customers provide feedback so your store could make improvements where needed. Your dismissive response make me think you deflect issues rather than address them. read more

We are so fortunate to have a large camera store so close to home (and with the new location, even closer). Salespeople are knowledgeable, caring and ready to help. They have a full inventory of all kinds of accessories as well as state of the art cameras and lenses. They provide a crew to help with repairs, a department for printing on all kinds of media - metal, canvas, special papers and they offer great classes and expeditions. I love to go and ask questions about some obscure settings in my camera menu and I always come away with answers and more info that I wasn't even after. It's the best candy store around. read more

Although I like the idea of a local camera store, I've just never been impressed with Precision. There are some friendly employees (some, not all), but everyone seems pushy in their own way. If they are not making commission, they sure act like it. I've had terrible experiences with their developing lab, which went unanswered by the photo lab manager (though I expect in a public forum like Yelp, we'll see some kind of response). And though Gregg B would have you believe otherwise, prices are typically 10% higher than certain online outlets. Precision is there if you need last minute supplies for a shoot. Otherwise, being local isn't reason enough to like them. read more

I've been coming to this store since I first moved to Austin, fourteen years ago. Whenever I think I have an oddball request, I go there and I find that they have an excellent answer for me. For example: I asked them how I can get better lighting in my photos, and they explained to me how Nikon cameras have the ability to control multiple flashes. These guys are very knowledgeable and always willing to help. I always felt guilty that I would buy a lot of my high-dollar gear from amazon.com, assuming I was going to save money that way. It's worked for me with audio/video equipment, and I didn't think that photography gear would be different. I was stunned to discover that Precision charges the same prices as amazon on my Nikon gear! MAP means buying local is the right decision, every time. Once, I dropped my brand new Nikon D800 on a hard tile floor the very day I bought it. Obviously I had to pay for my repair, but this camera was pretty rare at the time and parts were not easy to obtain. Precision repaired the camera and shipped it to the hotel where I was staying during my vacation, so that I wouldn't have to go through a summer trip without it! I have a treasured family photo to have printed, and I spoke with one of their techs to find out how to get the best results. He instantly gave me all the information I needed, and showed me samples of their various papers so that I could choose the best one for my needs. Their printing quality is top notch. I have used Precision Camera for at least 15 years back when they were in a smaller store. With one exception over all that time, they were helpful, knowledgeable and polite. No other place in Austin has the diversity of cameras, printers, and classes that they have. You may find cheaper online prices, but if you want to deal directly with a person, Precision is the place for you. I am 76 and so my technology knowledge has fallen behind but they can help. read more

Very disappointed with my service from Precision today. I brought in a brand new Nikon camera kit to get an evaluation on a trade-in (since I have Canon lenses). I told the guy it was a new camera that had never been opened, and that if they couldn't give me a decent trade that I'd sell it on CL or Ebay. I expected them to verify the camera was new/unopened and give me a reasonable quote (since I would be buying a high end Canon frame at their retail price), but they not only opened it, but left it looking like a gorilla had done the opening!!!! Very dissatisfied... *edit - responding to Precision's comments: It is no longer a 'new in box' camera when it has been removed from the box and the packaging is mangled. It is still unused, but doesn't present as new anymore. Though it is the previous generation frame, this set is also still sold (new) on the Nikon webpage. I would expect your people to recognize a camera in current, new, sealed packaging and provide me a quote without opening it. Your people also quoted at 60% of used pricing (for a new in box camera, and hitch they first opened) vs. exchange pricing. If I was told that they would price the camera as used, or that they would need to open the camera (which I clearly told them was new in box,) I would have saved us both time and left without being upset. I didn't bring the camera to a pawn shop, I was looking to do an trade-in/exchange. read more
