Power Home Remodeling made buying new windows painless. The installation was quick, with great quality. Highly recommend this company for window installment. read more

Long winded sales pitch, rude response to needing to cut the sales pitch short. Notified that they will give our info to third parties.

A similar story on my account: some of their door-to-door salesmen caught me while I was getting my mail, pressured me to talk to their representative on the phone -- which I did, just to get rid of them. I got involved in an interminable conversation which I finally managed to break off. Then I received call after call every morning until I blocked the number. I don't know what their actual work is like, but their sales group is simply dreadful. read more

We had a few projects (attic insulation, sliding glass doors, windows) done by Power Home Remodeling and we are very happy with their customer service, price and quality of the products/projects. Timothy Smith and Adam Zettler were very professional, polite, and gave us amazing presentations and prices compared to the other competitors in the area. Their installation crew was also very professional and polite, besides doing a good job with the installations they made sure to clean the areas where they worked on after finishing the project. I will recommend Power Home Remodeling and will definitely use them for future projects. read more

Before anyone looks at the overall low rating ,please consider this. This is a legitimate and highly rated company. All of the negative ratings I've seen are from people who didn't like people coming to their door or a long sales pitch. The person who said their number comes up as a scam in White Pages.com should know that the number is indeed now registered to the Power office on Greenbelt, Md. The number may be considered SPAM, because they are soliciting you over the phone. People not showing up for the appointment are just bad salespeople..and I generally don't give companies a second chance. I complained bec they confirmed my appointment 4 times in less than a day. (YES I WILL BE HOME!) .Check Angie's List, where they are a top award getter or Roofing Contractor magazine ,an industry publication ,to see that their reputation is solid. Also if you go to Glassdoor.com you can read how highly the employees of Power regard their company and enjoy working there. Their one complaint is that they work long hours. Womp ,Womp as they say. I swear that I am NOT connected to the company in any way but did have a salesman in my home yesterday (and ,yes, I got pissed when they asked if there was a husband "or other resident", and they need to cut that out. It's off-putting to women. I understand the company's rational, but if a person decides to sign a contract for a big job without the input of any other important people, that's their problem. Also know that the salespeople do not work on commission. They are GOOD at what they do and the presentation IS long and I did ask to have it sped up several times, but when they leave, you will be hard pressed to have any unanswered questions. The person who came out did a very thorough investigation of my home from the inside out and crawl space (where he almost got stuck). I knew I could likely have gotten a cheaper job done by someone else but I feel so confident that this company will do the job well I hired them. I have had two roofers and a painter at my house in the last 3 years and have spent over $5000 and to see that I still have rotten wood, inadequate gutters etc is aggravating. (I suspected that I couldn't be so lucky to not need a roof bec there is evidence of water damage inside and I just wanted to make sure all was well, before doing inside painting and fixing up.) Yes, you will be offered a lower quote on the day of the presentation that is good only for that day,but I've been there before and certainly could have opted to wait. The quote is good for a year (when the person who first came to my door set up the appointment, he said it was good "for the future",or something that made me think "what a deal" (ie forever). Of course I haven't had the work done yet so the 4star rating is to add a positive review .Oh..another thing about this company is you pay NOTHING up front and only pay when the job is completed to your satisfaction. Their` warranty is a lifetime warranty that is transferable.Another useful factoid is that they do the work for two of the wholesale clubs. The bottom line is, if you need work done and want more than a patch or inadequate job done, don't be afraid to call these guys. Or, pay a home inspector to look at your house so no one can oversell to you,or just take their free inspection and do with it want you want. You will learn more about roofing, siding etc than you wanted perhaps, but you will be well-educated. read more

First time- two guys in blue company shorts knocked on door to setup an obligation free appointment. 2nd time - a polite sales showed up on time spending more than two hours showing their product and how great PRG is. At the end, $26.7K for replacing new shingle roof for 2550SQF. If I signed the contract, it will be $23k 3rd time, 2weeks later - another sales person came with a special promotion authorized by the company boss. The appointment is 10mintutes also, but he stayed with me for more than 2hours. finally, $19K if I wants to sign contract. After I said I will have to get quotes from other companies to compare to decide if I would choose their product, the guy said, you don't have to contact us anymore because they will not do it even at the original $26K. I went to my neighbor next morning to check on their newly replaced roof - $6k. Do not fall for this kind of companies. Always compare apple with, even orange. read more

Free estimate turned into 6 hrs of sales pitch. Felt pressured at the end and when I kept saying no the price keeps dropping. Sales guy even offered to pay my first month of installment just for me to lock in the "cheaper" price for initial visit. The quality of Windows looks legit but just too over priced. Wasted whole night didn't even eat dinner. Blown! Wish I had read Yelp first but lesson learned. For someone like me who doesn't know prices in that industry I like to search for the best price around town, but this company doesn't give u time to do that just pressuring you to buy on the first visit. Bad juju IMO PS: sale guy keep saying "you don't have to choose us" probably heard that 10-15 times. Don't know why they keep emphasizing that. Good thing he did so that's exactly what I did. Also I don't have Yelp but after the visit I got Yelp just to write this review! read more

When they initially came to give me an estimate I had no intention of actually purchasing. I was so impressed with the product that I ended of purchasing. This has been a surprisingly painless experience. Everyone that I have interacted with is both knowledgeable and professional. The sales staff is not pushy. Everyone arrived on time and did what was supposed to be done. What a refreshing surprise. After the initial installation I like the product so much that I got the remaining windows done. read more

I had a very bad experience with Power Home Remodeling. I was going to replace all the widows at my house, the guy came over and spent close to 4 hours giving us this nice presentation. At the end, we signed up because we were told that if we say yes tonight we would get a discounted price. The price was exceedingly high and was over our budget. After thinking about it for 24 hours and calling different companies, we had to cancel. We installed all 24 new widows with almost 60% of their price. I did however, hire them to replace all my gutters and get some sidings done. that was a BIG MISTAKE on my part. The project manager and the person at the warranty department are very unprofessional. Back in October, I was told that the siding was going to be done on 12/26 and gutters will be installed on 12/30. They actually picked these dates. SIDING On the morning of 12/26, I waited until 11am, and no one had shown yet. I picked up the phone and called the office, The lady did not know what was going on and referred me to my project manager. He called me and informed me that they were unable to come in that day due to an emergency. I asked how come no one had called me to let me know that, he had no answer. After threatening to cancel all my project, he back peddled and found a "new crew" to come in. They came in, they started doing their job and at the end of the day, I was told that they could not finish everything because they ran out of materials. I was told they should be back by the end of the following week. I said that would be fine. GUTTERS The exact same thing happened on the day of the gutters installation. (12/30). Please keep in mind that they picked these dates not me. I called again around 1100 am, The lady at the office referred me to my project manager. He got on the phone to tell me that they were not coming today. I asked the same question, how come I did not receive a phone call. I reminded him that this is the holiday season and if I had known that they were cancelling, I would have taken my family out of town to visit my parents who live about 2 hours away. He AGAIN said that was his fault. I did tell him I needed to put everything on hold because this was getting ridiculous. He managed to find a crew that came in the next day, which was new years eve. I literally had to spend my Christmas and New Years at home because POWERS could not honor their commitments and show up on the dates that THEY ACTUALLY PICKED. THE REMINDER OF THE SIDING PROJECT Going back to the siding project, I was told they would be have to come back and finish the job by the end of the following week. That would have been the week ending on 1/5. I waited until 1/6 and called the office again since I had not heard from them. The office lady talked to the project manager and was told that the material will be in on 1/9 and the installation will be on 1/10. I was also told to expect a phone call to confirm the installation date. on 1/9, I waited until about 2:30 PM and no one had called yet. I did not want to go through this again for the third time, I decided to call and see what is going on. The office referred me to the warranty office. As soon as I finished explaining my story, The Guy was very rude and made a comment about how I had been calling them repeatedly around the holiday and that was "very weird". I tried to explain to that person that the dates were assigned by his company not me. He actually hung up on me when I tried to get some type of explanation about the reason why they do not call and inform their customers about not being able to make on the previously agreed date. They finally showed up on 1/15 and finished the job. This company is a disgrace and does not respect its customers. I will never hire them again. read more

We had Power Home Remodeling install a new roof (shingles and wood) on our 56-year old home. The entire process from initial contact, pre-installation inspection and estimate, the actual installation, and post installation cleanup and inspection was very professional. Customer service representatives and the on-site crew were very responsive to our questions. We learned a lot about roofing during this process. We feel that we received excellent value for this significant investment in our property and love our beautiful new roof. read more

Made a Yelp account just so I could post a review about your "business." Salesman came to my door offering to replace windows. I told him no thanks, without skipping a beat he started showing me an iPad with a map on it saying we're doing work on so and so neighbor's house and they love us, I cut him short and asked him "why the f**k would I care about that and what does it have to do with me?" He was taken aback but kept going on about windows and setting up an appointment. Kept asking me if I'm the homeowner, told him yes. Asked multiple times if I'm the only homeowner for this property, told him yes. Asked me if I rent the property, told him no, I own it mortgage free. Asked me again if anyone else lives with me, told him no. Then about 10 minutes into the hilariously overbearing sales pitch and trying to get me to sign up for a free consultation he asks me again if I'm the homeowner. I tell him yes. Then he asks how someone who's 24 years old can own a $450k house mortgage free. At this point I was pissed off enough that I laughed in his face, told him because I don't work in a career where I try to sell overpriced trash door to door, shut the door in his face and called my neighborhood security guard to take him off my property. 0/10 for your sales tactics, 10/10 for how much fun I had berating your salesman after he kept trying high pressure sales gimmicks, please send me more so I can waste their time. read more

The do not detail the price of the materials so that you are unaware of the actual cost. The quote I got lacked such details that what I thought was included in a price I would agree to was actually an additional cost increasing my total price to an exuberant price. Pricing and hidden cost alone will not make me work with them and I will tell all my neighbors to be careful with them. read more

A really talented, chatty, likeable front man, Eric, knocked on my front door. Remarkable in how he did this: he began by asking me about getting a new roof, which I didnt need, siding which I didnt need, windows, etc, and finally hypothetically what I might want done. He asserted they were best and biggest company in the business. Sure, there were improvements I needed, but I kept insisting I wasnt in the market at the moment. Before I knew what was happening, I was turned over to a manager on the phone to confirm the hypothetical appointment that was being scheduled under my nose. I guess I'm slow to recognize when I'm being hustled. I have no idea what kind of work they do, but it wont be for me. In my experience, such companies have high overhead and high prices. read more

Wish these reviews had existed before I got involved with Power. They have redone the entire exterior of our home, Gutters, fascia, soffit, roof, windows, doors, siding - all of it. The gutters have consistently failed - they claim it's due to pine needles. The roofers (who peed in my yard btw) caused extensive interior damage while installing, caused more damage trying to repair that damage - used window adhesive and high gloss spray paint to patch a cracked ceiling which I am STILL finding splattered around my house, grrr - then the new roof, which they assured installing in February would not be an issue, failed and caused even more of a catastrophe. Between emptying buckets, tracking down an interior contractor and being home for countless temporary repairs and visits to shovel the failing roof until it could be properly repaired (in the spring), dealing with the whole situation became a full time job. The windows are better that the drafty old originals we had in our circa 1960 home - but apparently the interior trim is not included in the original quote unless you specify. Over all their price point is at the very top end of the industry BUT their warranty is also much more inclusive which is why we went with them to begin with - I don't mind paying more for a better product, trouble is, while the warranty is great, I had naively assumed that it being "high end" - I would not have to use it. Oops I wish that I could write separate reviews for each division of the company because it is truly the roofing / gutter issues that are bringing the score down. The window team was great, I'd give them 5* - the actual windows, eh 3*. Sales team - yes, they are pushy but also very likable, knowledgeable and very well trained which from a pragmatic perspective, is admirable, 4*. The finance department, we had a few glitches there too, 2*. Siding, well to their credit, they stayed to finish it in a blizzard, however, that situation was self created - had they not torn the entire exterior of my house off 2 days before, they would not have been working during said blizzard. Another little glitch, price lock quote gave us 5 years to complete the work but when we were ready for siding, were told that our original selection was discontinued - but we had already started with that color scheme so?? They tracked down the right color, but not the style we had selected so we had to settle - then they installed the wrong color corner posts. Now this siding is guaranteed- but I have to wonder what is going to happen if it does need repairs because it is discontinued? The product its self seems great BUT they promised up and down that all these upgrades would cut my heating fuel bill in 1/2, they did not, however, it was reduced some and unlike before, for the expense our home is now warm so siding 5*, siding installation 3*. Love my garage door and the guy who installed it - but was a little confused because Power swore they didn't contract out, but this guy was, he was also the best part of the project so +5* for him but that is not Power. Other doors are great too (except my crappy slider door screen but I think they're all crappy) - but for that price, they better be!! 5* Gutters - epic fail. For $15k ya would think they might be able to handle f!ng pine needles. 0* Roof - Shakespeare couldn't write a better tragedy, stars no, black hole, yes. 5 black holes for installation. For the product, I have no idea, I'll let you know if it ever works right. Those black holes should swallow any stars, but I am not completely unreasonable. They have done all that they could to correct these (again self created) problems. Would I recommend Power, no. Would I hire them again, no - but Would I call you crazy for hiring them, no. Actually, please do because they do offer some great products...and if they go under then I'm screwed. ;-) read more

Not worth the lone star. I have to acknowledge I did not use the service but had a door to door salesman knock on my door (ignoring the clearly posted NO SOLICITORS sign on my front door). I politely and yes I was very polite in telling him I do not buy anything from door to door salespeople. But he refused to leave my property even after numerous efforts to make it abundantly clear I was not interested. Eventually I told him to leave my property or I was calling the police. I was then the subject of a verbal assault from this guy. Are you kidding me? This is your business approach. It took me almost 30 minutes to finally get this guy to vacate my property. Funny thing is had he initially just given me a brochure or something to read about the company I may have called them when I needed something done. But no way on earth would I give this company my business. read more

Price for the roof was about 30% above all other quotes. Salesperson kept us glued to his sales pitch for hours, gave us lots of mis-information about financing by other companies, that no one else, Provides their degree of warranty, and several other points. Materials are indeed top notch but it's not true that they are the only company using them. All other quotes we got do finish work in one day as well! In short clearly top materials, I'm guessing high quality work, but sales process is painfully complicated and at significant premium. Also, work will not be done any faster compared to other places. 3 as follows for 1 star for excellent details explanation by the rep! One star of all the quality of materials they use! And one star for the ease of cancellation and personal follow up with the same rep who came to us to start the process. read more

We signed up for a free estimate to see how much it would be to replace our roof this past summer. The estimator that came was friendly and THOROUGH. He walked us through, step by step, what it takes and why for each part of the roof replacement. It took a LONG time to get through the presentation, but we felt that we were presented with an excellent product, and excellent service. The price was beyond our current budget, so we had to decline, but for what they offered, I felt it was fair. You definitely get what you pay for in remodeling, and this company offers great peace of mind with their product and installation. read more

Two employees from Power knocked on my door saying they'd done work down the street and were able to set up free estimates. I thought "Sure! It's difficult finding good contractors, much less getting them to show up." They asked for contact info, how many window's we had, how long we'd owned the house, my husband's name, time for an appointment, etc. Then I had to tell a phone operator the same information, while it was recorded. No big deal, but a bit strange. The day of the appointment, I confirmed with them over the phone. They ask "Will you husband be there too?" and I replied that he would. When the estimator arrived, he refused to give me a quote because my husband was not present. When I asked why, the estimator said it was company policy for all decision makers to be present. I said that was not the question I was asked when scheduling the appointment. I offered to provide proof that I was the sole homeowner and authorized to make this decision on my own. The estimator then said that because part of my husband's income would be going to the project, he had to be present. That's a lot of assumptions about who we are and how we structure our household. How do they know if either of us has a job? What business of their's is it how we handle our household expenses? How do they know either of us are on the deed? If it was company policy for decision makers to be present, they should ask who the decision makers are! When I called the dispatcher, he was unable to read me the company policy that dictated decision makers must be present to receive a quote. The dispatcher said the company found customers filed less complaints about the service if both spouses were present when the quote was given. When I was transferred to the customer care department to make a complaint, I was informed the policy is that homeowners, homeowner's spouses, and additional decision makers must be present for them to give a quote. The customer care representative said it was due to having to choose all the window options prior to the quote being given and needing all parties with input to be present. After reading other reviews, I now see why the quote process can take several hours. Overall, I found the experience of just getting an estimate to be offensive and opaque. read more

Had my windows and door replaced by power in January. They were in a big hurry. Forgot the screens on one of the windows and forgot some of their their equipment in my home. Even though they returned to complete the job the following day, the job was never inspected by a supervisor as promised and even tho I called, no one ever showed up. Their workers rushed away to the next job without properly completing mine. Worst experience I've had with a contractor. Sale wasn't qualified. I told the salesman I was making one basement room a bedroom. That means the window would need to pass egress, it didn't. If I had a professional review the order they would have told me this prior to install. I bought from the salesman since it came with the high pressure tactic if you sign tonight you get money off. Once the windows were installed and then inspected by the county one window failed to pass egress. When calling the warranty department they denied replacing. I had to buy another window as at least they would waive install. The 10th window once installed didn't match the grid pattern of the other windows. Further when inspected it still failed inspection from not having the proper hardware. Power did agree to replace the hardware, however, they have ordered the incorrect hardware 5 times now and still hasn't been fixed. The window and installers are great, but not being able to qualify a sale, not take responsibility, install the window with unmatching grid, then not able to replace hardware with 2 weeks between ordering parts it's not a company I would ever use or recommend to anyone. Avoid the company at all costs. read more

For over 10 years now power's door to door solicitors have been coming to my neighborhood & 99% of them do not have the required permits. Just about every town in the U.S requires a solicitation permit. I walk my dog a lot & have had several run-ins with them. When I see them the first question I ask is to see their permit & I always get the same answer which is "the company has the permits at their office." They are probably trained to say this because everyone of them says the same thing. I tell them that permits are issued to individuals after you get a background check & include your picture & you're required to carry the permit at all times. Then I call the police because they too are tired of getting complaints about power soliciting without a permit & will issue them a citation on the spot. I have gotten the police to issue several citations to power solicitors for soliciting without a permit & trespassing. On several occasions when I've called the police, the power solicitor had ran to car & drove away. One time I was in my driveway cleaning my car when a power solicitor starting coming up my driveway. I told him I'm not interested & he replied "I'm not selling anything." I told him that I don't care you need get out of here. He continued to walk up my driveway saying "the township asked us to go around & speak to the residents." I replied I don't care leave & he continued saying, " sir I have valuable info that you need to hear." He took two more steps towards me & I grabbed my pepper gel from the glovebox & sprayed him. As he was on the ground screaming he said "what did you do that, for", which I replied "I told you to leave & in this day & age you don't just walk up to people on their private properties." The police came & offered the solicitor first aid then gave him tickets for not having a permit & for trespassing. I have been collecting police reports against power which include proof of citations & I have been strongly considering taking them to court for harassment. Power floods local towns with their unpermitted door to door solicitors because this is how they try to get most of their business. This is their business model & soliciting without a permit is a crime. The only possible explanation for this is that power's businesses model is based on criminal activity. read more

I had issues with water leaking into my sliding glass door in my walkout basement. A young man came by about dinner time and apologized about disrupting my meal and asked if he could come back. I told him yes, because I was curious about replacing that door. When he came back, he asked about my roof. I told him that I really was not concerned with the roof because we just bought the house a year ago, and the inspector said the roof was great. (Turns out he oversold it so we would buy the house) Make a log story short (In the name of brevity), I agreed to host a salesman. The Salesmen's name was Alex, and he was the best. He went over the company, products, and showed us what the issue with our door was. It was actually the top slider, which was not sealed. When it rained, the water would hit the glass door, slide down, seep into the floor between the door and my kitchen floor and into the celling of the basement and leak onto the basement floor. After talking about replacing the sliders, I asked him to check our windows as well. He pointed out there were drafts (We could feel them) and parts of the windows where a nice stiff shove, would probably pop them out of the wall. We knew it was time to replace them as well. So.... We got the info on the windows, besides the fact that this is a superior product than most windows on the market, The biggest selling point was the LIFETIME WARRENTY, which is transferrable to a buyer. While measuring the windows, Alex calls me up to a room and shows me a part of the roof that was visible. Some of the shingles were cracked and there was Lichen (A fungus) growing on a bunch of the shingles. This could cause damage. We decided to get the roof done as well. All my neighbors were getting theirs done and seeing the damage, I knew that I should have mine done as well. We scheduled all the work to be done, and when it came time, the crew started and finished the roof in one day. They were extremely professional and cleaned up like they were never there. The roof is amazing and better yet, My Warranty will last 30 years longer than my neighbors. When it comes time to sell, we can transfer the warranty so the buyer has nothing to worry about. (Selling point) They did the windows two weeks later. They were amazing. The slider doors have two points of security (A double lock and a deadbolt into the floor) so there is no breaking in without breaking the glass. The window crew did 90% of the house in one day and had to come back to finish up (I have over 30 windows) everything was soothe sailing with this company. They were so good, I just signed a contract to have them do our entry door as well. We will have to do the siding in a few years and I will be calling them for that as well. They cost a little more than home depot, Lowes, or the guy down the street, but The Warranty, the work, and the product are worth the extra cost. read more

Creepy, over-stay-your-welcome sales pitch. Don't open your door if you see their logo. As with others, the salespeople say they are in the neighborhood working on a house on X street. VERY HIGH PRESSURE business model! They offered a free estimate which I agreed to since I have a 20 year home. They wanted to spend hours going over their differences from other companies. But, I just wanted a bid as I always get two or three then have the chosen company back. They called weeks later to try and pressure me some more. They gave a bid, I picked the color shingle, they advised on other work needed and voila. New beautiful roof without all that nonsense! read more

I believe you have good reviews on Angie's List & Google, but most of these yelp reviews are saying the same thing. Learn something from them. Your company needs to change your corporate policy re: sales tactics. No means no. Six nos really mean no. After I cancelled this appointment 2 days ago, someone shows up at my door and I don't think it was a coincidence that they were waiting for my car to come down the street. Subsequently, multiple unwanted calls. I really hope they stop soon. Zero stars. read more

I met a rep from this company in Sam's Club. From beginning to end, every person was professional and courteous. Every aspect was explained in detail and I don't have any buyer's remorse. read more

Power stopped by offering to give me a quote to replace the roof. I said I was interested, because I need to start thinking about that. However, they refused to schedule anyone to come out and check out the roof unless my husband were present! We work from home on alternating days, so you either get one of us or the other, but never both. Power refused to come look at the roof if only I would be there, and they asked invasive questions about what my husband's name was and who else lived in the house. I know they have this line about wanting to make sure that all decision makers are present, but this reeks of sexism to me. If they're giving free quotes that are good for a year, they can give them to a man OR a woman. This company is completely dismissive and cannot recognize that a woman may also have control of a household's finances. No thank you. read more

I wanted to report this company to the Better Business Bureau but I decided instead to give them and others a strong warning. I wanted an estimate for remodeling in my home and when I said my husband would not be available to receive the estimate they insisted FIVE times that he be there. When I said that was not possible they still insisted. Eventually I had to cancel the appointment. I felt degraded. In our house I make the decisions on home remodeling because I am motivated and interested and I have the time to do so. My husband trusts and respects my decision making skills. I know many couples that operate like this. In today's busy world it is imperative to divide up domestic tasks. After this phone call I read reviews by other women (see the review from 3/9/2021 by Nicky C) and clearly see this is a practice of theirs which they do not intend to change. Kind of old school, don't you think, when statistics show that women are the heads of more than 46% of households in the U.S. Don't do business with this company. Don't let them waste your time. Don't let them degrade you. read more
