On a random Saturday with storms predicted, I noticed shingles falling off my roof. I called a few roofers, but only David said he could come same-day. He arrived within 40 minutes of our conversation and fixed the problem for a fraction of the price we had agreed to. He also seems like a great guy. We'd hire him again for roof work without hesitation. read more

David Ralda was very responsive even though it was Memorial Day weekend; I wouldn't have minded if he had gotten back to me after the holiday but he offered to come out anyway to look at the hole in our roof. He offered a fair price for the repair and to come back when it wasn't raining, which ended up being the next day I believe. He verified that the rest of the roof looked ok, and did a great job on the repair. Hopefully my year-old roof won't get damaged again anytime soon now that the trees have been trimmed as well but if so I'll call David. read more

I called him, and he delivered outstanding, fast service. He arrived at my home just an hour and a half after my call. He carefully inspected the roof and quickly identified a hole in the underlayment beneath the shingles, which was causing the leak into the attic. He also reassured me that the wood in the attic could be dried out properly. It was excellent, efficient service completed in just a few hours. I really appreciate it! Thank you! read more

David quickly repaired our roof and gutter issue (Silver Spring, MD) Prompt, professional, and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

Customer beware, he will offer extremely highly inflated prices based on the value of your home, he is not trustworthy. We will warn our neighbors and friends about him. I no longer trust Yelp reviews. read more

David was responsive, worked quickly and was communicative. I believe he is reasonably priced. I would hire him again.

David was responsive, showed up on time, did great work and offered to help with repairs he identified.

David repaired our gutters quickly and well. We thought we needed to replace them, having been told this by one of the bigger name gutter places. He came out to do the replacement, but when he looked at the job he talked us out of doing this and said the repairs would last for years. This saved us thousands! We had him back out to clean them, and he identified an issue with the flashing/sealing around our chimney (the pictures were scary!). He repaired it right then. He is friendly and honest and has a very quick turnaround. will go to him for all roofing and gutter needs. read more

David Ralda showed up the same day I called him and got to work on a problem I couldn't fix -- gutter downspout, pipe under stone patio connecting to a long buried pipe out to the sidewalk, about 75 feet altogether, all clogged with years of leaves, debris, etc. Required a snake and hours of work to unjam, which he did over the course of hours. Not cheap, but very good work. A+ for showing up so quickly and fixing the problem. Friendly and helpful. read more

David provided an excellent service to an incredibly complex front porch roof and gutter issue caused by a nest of squirrels living rent-free for decades. We bought a century-old rowhome in D.C. and didn't realize we also inherited a family of squirrels that ferociously dug into our front porch beam. We've gotten several quotes in the past two years where roofers and siding companies chalked it up as "this is going to cost you a lot of money and it's just not worth it." We finally decided to prioritize fixing this problem and got three quotes. I got two other quotes, and one was really expensive (due to different material cost) and the second one was comparatively the same. I trusted David's expertise because he was referred by my friend who highly recommended him (David fixed my friend's leaky roof issue nearby); and David didn't give me a run-around answer with the problem I had raised. When I finally decided to start on the project, David's team was ready to go. I wanted David to fix three big areas: 1) trimboard/beam; 2) gutter; and 3) front porch ceiling. David's team took photos throughout the process, identified that the front porch trim board didn't actually have a beam inside, so the squirrels lived in this hollow space filled with mulch and tree branches. They quickly gave me an estimate of the additional cost to add a beam and worked extremely hard to fixing the front porch roof area. They were done within a day and a half. I'm super pleased with David's craftsmanship. David went above and beyond my expectations, fixing a beautiful antique crown moulding that the squirrels chewed up, and making it look like new. I am so relieved to know this problem is now fixed and the squirrels have no way of getting back into the roof. Everything is sealed and properly done. Please protect David at all cost. He is a 10/10. read more

David is efficient and even got a ball out of corner elbow that was causing leaking behind the gutter. Great job

Slate roof repair, fascia repair, flashing repair. Provided quote and completed repairs on a Saturday.

I used Yelp to find someone to clean my gutters. Yelp sent me 5 contractors. 4 responded very quickly, but only 2 gave me a price quote on the spot. I went with David because he was willing to come the same day and get it done. He showed up early and got to work. Very fast and efficient and fixed one gutter that was separating from the roof. All in he charges $180 which I think is reasonable. The other quote was $150 but I would have to wait and there were some conditions that would have probably driven the price up. So I am happy with the result. read more

I had a great experience with David for unclogging my gutter, he was quick to respond and even explained the problems he found during the job and recommended me repair work and gutter guard installation. He even installed additional metal sheets for overflow protection. My place is not within his service area, but he was still committed to assisting me over the weekend. He took photos of his work. Definitely recommend him for the quality of work he provides. read more

David was one of several 5* contractors whom we asked to inspect our roof following a leak we spotted after heavy rain recently. He got the job for three main reasons: - First of all, he did the most thorough inspection (spending an hour crawling around our tiny attic and roof, where access is complicated by solar panels) spotting real issues many other contractors had missed (I was up there with him, so I saw them first hand). Did I mention he came on Thanksgiving, a day after we called him? Well, now I did ;-) - He also offered a competitive quote for repairs and gutter replacement and, in contrast to some of the competition, he wasn't only interested in replacing the whole roof, but thought we could fix the issues and keep it alive for another 5-8 years (which sounded very reasonable to us). - Finally, he was ready to start on short notice and seemed like a genuinely nice guy. While the weather wasn't exactly ideal (it was cold and rainy), David delivered on his promises, working tirelessly (and occasionally after dark and in the rain) to fix the issues as soon as possible. Less than a week after we spotted the leak, and after three+ long days of labor, we have new gutters and a roof that is almost unrecognizable. And while several of the contractors wouldn't touch our roof with the solar panels on it, David did a lot of the work crawling under them, saving us $2,5k in dismantling and reassembly costs alone... He also provided photo documentation of the work done, with helpful "before" and "after" pics. Would we hire David for another job? Absolutely, and we actually already have, i.e., he's scheduled to come round and inspect our roof on a semi-annual basis now. Long story short, we're very happy and would strongly recommend his services! read more

I had a few things to fix after moving into an older home: fixing leaks, inadequate gutters, and flashing that had come loose. Ralda Roofing was able to get me an estimate quickly, including some options (prices for repairing the flashing versus replacing it) which I appreciated. The prices were reasonable and it was easy to communicate with David. He and his team came out quickly and got the work done. I can see why he has excellent reviews! read more

David did a great job cleaning, our gutter, installing gutter mesh and replacing gutter brackets to stop the gutter from pulling away from the house. He did all off this 3 stories up. He also repaired a hole in our stucco and sealed and modified the stucco with a slope to help direct water away from the house. He worked quickly but also completed the unexpected issues. He did it all in a day. I would highly recommend David, he is a personable and does excellent work. read more

The company's owner was very receptive to my immediate need for fascia replacement. I was surprised that morning to see that a huge piece of lumber and fascia boar hanging down exposing a portion of the underside of my roof. He replied quickly, asked me to text a picture --then providing me with an estimate. I pleased when he was able to fit me in that same evening. He came in and did measurements, left for additional materials and even battled bees that had been drawn to the gaping opening. After finishing up--despite my being a new client, he offered to send me an electronic invoice for payment. The overall experience was simple and easy which I favor- no drama and no upselling. I plan to use him as needed in future and would highly recommend this company for all your exterior home repair needs. read more

I've reviewed David in the past, but everything I said in 2021 applies in 2025. He's fast, cost-effective, and great to work with. On two occasions he's patched cracks or replaced dried out sealant on the roof, and we've also had him out to clean the gutters. Highly recommended. read more

I had a severe leak in the garage a few months ago and David came out quickly. Good guy, good work, fair price. Haven't had a leak since. I had him replace a gutter today. I would usually do something like this myself but it was a little more complicated than I wanted to get into. He did great work again and it was a hot day today! David showed up exactly when he said he would. It cost exactly what he said it would cost. And he did the job how I wanted it done down to the detail. Highly recommend. read more

David came out within 45 minutes of calling and did the repair. No muss, no fuss! Quoted me a reasonable price and did the repair--no issues. I will definitely recommend him again. read more

David responded to my Yelp solicitation. My rain gutters and downspouts were in need of cleaning and unclogging. David reworked his schedule to come out the same day. I could not be any happier or more satisfied. Over and above what I asked to have done, David conscientiously and methodically repaired and restored the gutter nails as he worked along the 2nd story gutters. And, even with the sun going down, David took the extra time to patch and seal the one troublesome downspout whose leaking has been given me such problems during heavy rains for more than a year. Upon completion, David showed me before/after pictures of the work (since I wasn't about to climb any tall ladders) - perfect! HIGHEST possible recommendation for this company. Definitely will hire them again! read more

I had damage to the "fascia board" under the shingles as well as damage to the gutter. David from Ralda roofing provided an estimate after I sent him a photograph of the damage. He was able to complete the work within the next business day. He was efficient and courteous. He provided multiple images - before and after - and provided a detailed explanation of the reason for the damage. He also completed some additional repairs and provided a gutter cleaning. read more

It's difficult to get good roofers who are also knowledgeable at diagnosing problems. David was great and quickly diagnosed the source of our porch leak. He came out the same week and fixed it the problem even replacing the silicone coating which was there before to make the porch look just as it did before. Will definitely use again. read more

Really happy I found a responsive and reliable roofer at last! Right after we moved into our old house it developed a small leak. I spent weeks contacting various companies and it was like pulling teeth to get someone to come take a look, let alone give us a bid to fix the problem. We eventually got a few bids but they were crazy high and some even proposed replacing an entire section of the tile roof with shingles which seemed like extreme overkill. Then a friend from our neighborhood list serv reccomended David. He came out within a few days, diagnosed and explained the problem, and then fixed it a few days later. Wow! And the fix was not a simple patch job, either - the entire metal "valley" between too parts of the roof had deteriorated after years of the prior owner putting a series of "bandaids" over it. The thing looked like Swiss cheese when David removed it and showed me! Was really glad to get that replaced once and for. Then a few weeks later, a new leak in another part of the house I called David and he fixed it a week after I contacted him! read more

David was rapid to respond and I needed the gutter and drains cleared on my DC rowhouse quick! He arrived the next day and cleared everything out. He refitted the gutter with leaf guards to prevent clogging and cleared the under ground drains. The result is a home that I don't have to worry about the back yard flooding and pouring into the basement anymore. Thank you David! read more

David was incredible and highly recommend. We had a leak in the master bedroom after the storms from the tropical storm passed through. Called David at 8 AM and even though he had another job said he'd make it out in afternoon. He showed up, identified and fixed the problem right away over the next two hours. Highly competent, efficient and honest. Said if there was a return of problem to just call and he'd come back out right away. read more

David, the owner of Ralda Roofing, was excellent. He was responsive to my inquiry and offered a great price on the items I needed fixing in my home. Specifically, I had a hole in the wall in my basement, damage in my living room ceiling from a leaky roof, and drywall damage next to my bathroom tub. He fixed everything in 5 hours and the results are great. He even installed a splash guard on my tub that I requested. Will definitely use his services again in the future. read more

David with Ralda Roofing and Gutter was great to work with. He came out promptly to inspect the work and develop an estimate, send the estimate electronically, and began work within 2 days of me accepting the estimate. David worked hard, took initiative to fix things out of scope of the project, and was flexible with payment methods and terms. David said to give him a call if anything seemed to be out of order, and he would come out right away. I cannot recommend David Ralda enough. Just before Christmas around 2 inches of snow fell in DC and as it melted it started coming through the roof into the bathroom. As if having the roof start leaking wasn't stressful enough this happened less than two weeks out from the due date of our first baby! We gathered a number of quotes, for what we quickly realized wouldn't be a quick fix, and David came within 24h of my reaching out to him. His quote was very competitive and he was able to do all the work we wanted. Other companies either wouldn't take on the work or wanted astronomical sums for doing it. We had a great dialogue about what work was needed and not needed and he was very willing to work out the things I wanted. This was not a simple roof replacement. We live in a 1905 DC row house and the leaking was caused by an old issue where one of the main beams supporting the roof had broken under extensive weight, leading to a sagging roof and collecting water. The previous attempted repair had not been sufficient to stop the pooling water and this has led to the underlying roof damage. We asked David to strip off the old heavy roof layers, completely replace the broken beam and any rotten rafters and roof deck and lay a new roof. We also had him sister one of the other beams, which had developed small cracks. In addition we had him add a new hatch to provide roof access and a new skylight. All throughout he was very accommodating at quoting for each part of the job separately so we could decide what we would do. They used a torch down roof material, which we were confident was the best choice for the flat roof of the row house given research we did. We found that many other companies tried to convince us that stick down roof is better but we felt that that was simply in their interest as it makes the job simpler and keeps insurance costs down. In order to replace the beams the roof itself had to be lifted enough to pass the new beam underneath, making it a challenging job. David and his team completed all all this work within two and a half days, working from 8am until long after dark. In between days of work they carefully protected the exposed roof and we never saw a drop of water come in, despite heavy rainfall on one of the off days. David had the entire outside of the house professionally cleared afterwards and it's as if they were never here. An unknown when replacing a roof is how much of the underlying roof deck will need to be replaced, something not possible to completely know before the old roof comes off. With a 115 year old house this will inevitably push the cost up a bit during the job. Some companies will replace any rotten wood as part of the cost, which is not the case with Ralda (I suspect other companies just include it in the quote anyway though). David was very communicative about cost increases and these wound up being very minimal. David was extremely communicative and professional and extremely patient with me as I navigated having our roof replaced the same week we bought a newborn home from the hospital. Would use again and recommend strongly to anyone looking to get roof work done. read more

David is amazing! I called in on a Sunday after finding him on Yelp because I had a leak in my bathroom and needed an emergency roof repair.
