I was in OB this weekend riding around and I got a flat rear tire on my ebike. Called them and…read morethey said they didn't have my tube size. Luckily I had a spare tube, but unluckily I didn't have my 18mm wrench to remove the rear wheel. They said they could do it, and I dropped the bike off. They closed in two hours and said it would be done by 5. Walked by about an hour later (no call), and the bike was in the store and done. Go inside and no one was in the store, but I heard someone in the back. After a few minutes we looked in the back and asked if the bike was done. It was, and it was $20 for the fix. I was happy with that! Started riding out of OB, and by the time we hit Morena area, something felt off. Looked down and the tire looked soft. Within 5 more minutes it was dead flat. Had to call for a ride all the way back home. Today I looked at the tire closely with a flashlight and saw that they never removed the tiny piece of metal in the tire that caused the flat. Took the wheel off and put pressure in the tube, only to find the leak was on the inner (rim side) of the tube. Nothing sharp on the rim, so they must have messed up on the install. Why replace a tube and not inspect the tire? And a bike shop that installs a tube wrong that causes a flat? Gave this place 2 stars just for the fact that I'm only out $20

I needed a front fork seal rebuild on my bike. I'd gone by a big local place up in Kearny Mesa (won't name) and dude was dismissive, like 'ah yeah a couple hours to pull the forks, a couple hours to rebuild...but we're a month out to get you in'. Acted like he didn't want my business and wouldn't even provide a number 'uh yeah like $130/hour times 4 hours, and yeah parts too'. Gel haired, flat brimmed, frosted tip 50 year old goofball. SD moto did a 24 hour turnaround. Yep, actually less than 24 hours. They preemptively got the parts (he paid for them) dropped bike off Friday, picked up Saturday. Beyond happy. I have a valve clearance coming up in a few thousand miles and I'll coming here. Also he's from Bulgaria , not Russia. Good guy! Edit Bulgaria NOT Belarus haha. Sorry!

I was having my 2006 Kawasaki Zx10R serviced by a cycle shop closer to my area for years called…read more(motozone) on el cajon blvd but one day the main mechanic there named Roger told me my bike was too old for them to work on so I then stopped going there & I woiuld not recommend them to anyone. I then came across SD moto repair & found brother constantine. He is a 1 man worker but he does work at a fair price, & does it a good time frame & i have been taking my ZX10R to him for some years now for oil changes, tire changes, brake & master cylinder work, front & rear sprocket & chain replacement etcc.. he was even able to find me a replacement fairing for my Zx10R which are hard to find now because of my bikes age & he helped me today (9/13/25) properly fit a green rear seat cowl on my ZX10R that I bought on Ebay that is seen in this photo. I would reccomend him to any rider that needs their cycle serviced for fair pricing, good work & good turn around time. He also doesn't tell his customers "your cycle is too old" as the motozone mechanic told me years ago.

Dropped off my bike on Saturday 4/6/2019 to have a bike I bought used, to be looked over. Spoke to the dude in the service department I think his name was Mike, consulted with him and he recommended a diagnosis of the bike which costs 150$ and I knew I also needed an oil change and a new air filter from previously riding this bike the weekend before 4/6/2019. Everything on the bike was working fine, I just wanted it to get the valves adjusted if they needed to be and routine maintenance. Anyways I told him I needed the bike BY NEXT WEEKEND in order to go out riding all weekend with the boys. Mike or whatever his name is said he would start working it on Tuesday 4/9/2019 and it should be done by Wednesday 4/10/2019. Time passed, didnt recieve a call on either of those days, so I called on Thursday 4/11/2019 said they just started looking it over and doing the maintenance. He then called me later that day that the fuel pump will need replacing soon but said he "cleaned it up" but I didnt know that that was gonna be an extra charge on the "labor" diagnostic. It was running fine before the cleaning and also to automatically charge more money for doing something I did not authorize is not how you do business. Anyways its freaking friday 4/12/2019 and I needed my bike by this day to prep and load up before the weekend. But nope I get a damn call 10 minutes before they close from that same guy Mike saying "your bikes ready" Like really bro? you close in 10 minutes and expect me to get there? CALLING 10 MINUTES BEFORE YALL CLOSE IN ORDER TO MEET THE CUSTOMERS DEMANDED TIMEFRAME DOESNT MEET CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. I talked to Mike today and hes like "I wouldve stayed yesterday for you to pickup your bike", dude you didnt offer that on the phone nor did you call me at ANY time to give me updates throughout the week, you think im gonna take you word for that? and finally to pick up my bike finally on 4/13/2019 and my boys are all out riding already, doesnt do anything to make the situation better, no discount, missed customer timeframe , charging customers for maintenance they did not authorize. 3 total labor hours not complete in 5 business days or 7 actual calendar days.THIS PLACE IS GARBAGE,Im a local in Poway too, nice to know this service center works just as good as the ice cream machines at Mcdonalds read more

I dont always take the time to write reviews but I felt compelled this time because I had polar opposite experiences yesterday when out shopping for a new bike and these guys deserve some big kudos. LADIES, if any of you have ever shopped for a new vehicle on your own, you can feel me when I say it's normally a nightmare experience. Pushy sales dudes trying to take extra advantage and very little respect when we want to take time to think. This was NOT my experience here. Dustin was who helped me, and he answered all my questions and then some, ran some basic numbers on the bike I was interested in and came back with a great offer. He didn't try to upsell something I didn't want and most importantly: he RESPECTED me and my choice to want to shop around just a bit more because they were the first store I went to. He of course tried to secure a price that would make a sale right then and there, but when I wanted to head on to do more shopping I wasn't harrased with a ton of price haggling. I went to what is likely one of their biggest competitors here in town, and it was the exact opposite experience. Nice sales guy there, but then the haggling started. I said FIVE times I wanted to think about things because honestly, I was just shopping around and while I could outright buy a bike I'm not in any rush. Unfortunately I was pressured every time I wanted to walk out, to buy a bike right then. A typical high pressure sales pitch that soured my bike shopping experience. I am going to head back to Poway Powersports today and do a more thorough negotiation on the bike I was interested in because, whether a sale is processed or not, my initial shopping experience with them has earned my respect. Thank you Dustin for making my shopping experience so enjoyable yesterday and for your help! UPDATE: I have a new bike and this was probably the most hassle free vehicle buying experience ever. Dustin was pleasant, no pressure, and helpful. And shout out to Ryan over in parts who helped me pick out some extra gear and the gal in finance ( I'm so sorry I forgot your name because I was in New Bike euphoria by that point) who was sweet, patient, and quick! Y'all keep up the great work in treating potential buyers with respect. You've definitely got my business in the future. read more

I would like to start by saying I reside in the Central Valley in California (approximately 450mi North). The local dealers around me could not or would not get a specific bike that I wanted. I was told that the manufactures had shut down production and check back in the fall/winter. Since all this tariff stuff, i decided if i'm going to get a new bike its now or never. Certainly didn't want to pay double for the same bike 4 to 6 months from now! I remembered my time spent down in SoCal and decided to give Poway Powersports a call. Glad I did! I immediately spoke with Mello, who knew exactly what I wanted! Mello then hooked me up with JB. JB gets on the phone I ask him what I'm after and he replies " yeah...when do you want it?!" Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Literally within a couple of weeks after that conversation I'm looking at my brand new bike in my garage! JB kept me informed the entire time. Even shooting me pics of the bike arriving in its crate to final prep. I still cannot believe how easy these guys made everything! I've been buying bikes for over 35 years and this was the very first time I that purchased one without ever leaving my living room! I have to admit that I haven't actually purchased a bike from Poway Powersports (yet...) but I felt that they deserve to be reviewed. I placed a deposit on a bike with the help of Nate and Whitney and the process was very easy. Once the bike was in stock I was offered a thorough test ride and decide that it wasn't the right bike for me. They were completely understanding and it was obvious that what was most important to them was that I had a great experience and ended up on the right bike. The refund was processed right away without any fuss. I ended up finding a used bike from a private seller but I will definitely look to them for my next purchase. That being said, my cousin recently purchased a KTM 690 Enduro and similarly has nothing but great things to say about his experience there. Everyone loves to shop for bikes (online and in person) because, lets face it, new bikes are cool. But I believe that if people spent even a tenth as much time shopping for the right dealer, they would find that this is the place to buy for all the reasons I mention and are echoed in the other reviews. read more

I've been in and out of the shop a handful of times with my room mate. I went with him a couple of days ago so he could drop his bike off for some maintenance, and I happened to walk in just to check out the latest model of the motorcycle I currently have, wound up totally falling in love with the first thing I saw and wound up buying a new motorcycle! Reason why I give poway powersports and specifically Mr. Jones a 5 star rating is because there was no pushy salesmanship environment whatsoever. Mr. Jones was able to answer all the questions I had about the motorcycle that caught my eye and didn't even try to push for a sale. But when I decided I really wasn't gonna go home without it and told Mr. Jones that I wanted to purchase this motorcycle, he made the purchase by far the quickest and easiest purchase I have made to date. 5 stars for a good facility and truly awesome staff! ....did I mention that Mr. Jones even followed up with a phone call a day later to see how I was enjoying my new motorcycle read more

Best shop in San Diego! Every one of the employees is very knowledgeable and helpful, great products and large inventory. Service department is great, quick turn around time, special order parts arrive very quickly, probably faster than ordering online! RJ recently sold me and my buddy a couple of KTM 500s and it is the greatest bike I've ever been on. RJ is probably the smartest guy I've ever talked to about motorcycles, he can answer any question you'll have and he spent a lot of time with us explaining everything there is to know about the bike before we left. He even stayed late one night to help us out, definitely went the extra mile and a lot of people wouldn't do that. The shop has great prices on everything in the store, don't even bother shopping around. They also has a great and easy financing program which makes it easy to get on the bike of your dreams. This is a great shop and is an amazing addition to the city of Poway. read more

DON'T Deal With Poway Powersports! Best, Best, Best Deal in Town!!! I was on the market for a 2019 KTM 690 SMC R, and couldn't get a deal anywhere. My friend from Palomar Mountain (Chris Dolan) recommended GP Motorcycles. I took a long drive down to San Diego, from Aliso Viejo, Orange County, and got the best deal in town. The whole deal took 20 minutes from the time I walked in and drove away with my new purchase. Great management, finance and staff. I did stop by Poway Powersports, and had a horrible experience. If you're looking for a great deal DON'T go to Poway Powersports! Drive down GP Motorcycles instead... I did, and Thank You, Poway Powersports for turning me away. I have been looking for a slightly used 2014/2016 Honda Valkyrie for a while now. I located one in South Bay that had 3k miles and the price was a bit high. I contacted Melo at Poway Powersports. He told me he had two new ones on the way the following week, and they we considerably less than the used one I had found down south and much cheaper than the one in Vista. I purchased the new one from him. His name is appropriate, " Melo" because he is very mellow and zero pressure. He offered to take my used bike on consignment as well. Great Communication and no hassle. I am 55 and have bought many new and used vehicles since I was 15. This had to be the most pleasant buying experience I have ever Hadith a seller, both dealer and private combined. I rarely post to yelp (2 nd time) and I don't give away high marks because I am a bit demanding, but Melo earned every star. read more

I had visited Poway Motorsports 3-4 times deciding whether to get a new Honda goldwing or a new BMW. Three weeks ago I stopped in and met Dave, a friendly, no-nonsense owner. No pressure at all, he offered to let me ride a 2019 DCT tour model goldwing. That convinced me. Came back a few days later and received a great deal on my 2019. As a matter of fact, they did all the paperwork on my word and $20.00 deposit while I rode home for my check book. A week later I had a minor issue with a dash light and their service department immediately diagnosed and repaired it in five minutes. I was looking to get my Wife involved with riding on two wheels. We just stopped by on Saturday morning after breakfast and found that they had the Honda scooter I had been looking at. My Wife loved it so we bought it. They were so friendly and helpful. I very much want my desk bike to be purchased from here (CT125). Also, their parts department is great. I now am getting my parts here as well. I have a 1984 CT110 and needed a few parts for it and it's like pulling teeth to get the right ones. The team at Poway Powersports is the best. I needed a Bike at the last minute, but I also wanted a great deal and Melo provided both. He not only has awesome deals, but also will make sure the customer is taken care of. The used Bike I purchased had the original tires on it, only 5500 miles on the bike, and they changed the front to make sure I had new rubber. I thought the tire was okay, but the powers to be felt otherwise and changed the tire out of their pocket, Wow ! Just got back from a 5 day road trip and the Bike performed flawlessly. I overheard…read moreher say, "you talk to him, I'm tired of talking to these people", as she passed the phone over to Ivan. I really wanted this to work and for this to be a long term relationship with a local shop, and based on the many wonderful 5-star reviews, it certainly seemed possible. However, it turns out perhaps I simply called on the wrong day. Went with another shop, where they offered mobile motorcycle service. Turned out to be the best decision and gave them a glowing 5-star review, they earned it!
