I had never bought a new bike before my experience with Poway PowerSports, so my knowledge and continued research was limited to what google and word of mouth could provide me. I was told to stay away from any major corporate shops, as they like to crank up the build fee, and tack on commissions left and right. I also noticed that when I walked into a lot of bigger shops in north county to compare brands, size, or height, they didn't take me very seriously (not that I was ready to pull the trigger on anything, but they stopped me if I was.) and that was a big turn-off for my money/business. When I walked into Poway PowerSports, I took my time.. looked at some groms, a couple of the showroom bikes, pet the pupper, even had a coffee and talked to some sales and service dudes. Finally set my eyes on what I had come for, the 18 KTM 250 sxf! They had a demo bike too (basically a commercial/demonstration bike that has some low intensity hours for a better price).. and as I was checking it out, they came and asked if I'd like to pick it up! The price was right, the service and atmosphere felt good, so I went for it! I came back a couple hours later with everything they needed from me, and I picked it up Monday after the banks opened. Got a great down payment amount and interest rate compared to my friends with better credit than mine.. by some major margins. Keep that in mind if you're financing! Been looking for a couple bikes, this website seemed legit. No haggle, good prices and ton of inventory. Heck yes you can even buy online and drive and pick up! Right now!!! After researching several places this seemed to be the place to go. So loaded up the fam and headed to find our bikes. Mind you we are looking for around 4 bikes total, pretty good chunk of change right? Any dealership should be all over that? Upon arrival the actual brick and mortar store is not as large as you would think based on website. Upon entering there was a girl who looked like she should work there on a laptop in the corner who just ignored us. Ehhh whatever maybe she doesn't work here, let's just start looking. Looking around they have a lot of street bikes and very cute scooters and mopeds etc...After spotting 1 of the bikes we were looking for we were approached by a salesman named "Nate" who asked if we needed help. Wait I thought there were no salesman here? Well it's a good thing there was a salesman because had we decided to buy something I have no idea how we would have done that without one. We told him what we were looking for and pointed to the one we found and he stated "oh yeah we don't have any of those bikes, we are sold out but I did place an order for some more" ummmmm but your website says you have over 100 of the exact bikes we are looking for? Nates response was epic at this point, "yeah we always recommend calling ahead of time before you come in because inventory changes that frequently that we can't keep up with the website inventory." Ummmm you had bikes on there that were 2018 and 2019 models? Over 20 different bikes. Your telling me between my looking on your website on the drive here and walking through the door you sold your entire inventory of 2028/19 models? Ok buddy yeah sure. So where's the giant inventory of 2020 models you have on there? Oh yeah we sold all those. Then he goes into explaining how many he has ordered and sold in the last month. Do we really care about that? So what do you have for us? There was no, "hey let's look at what I can order, hey let's look at what we have, hey let's see what other bikes I have will work" like did the guy even want to sell a bike? When I pointed out his website was very inaccurate he just kept saying how hard it was to keep up with it. Wow, seriously that's ridiculous. Then say what you have to offer not what you have, because you don't actually have anything in stock. Now back to the bike we actually found we liked, he asked who the intended rider was. We said well it's for my nephew but it's going to be risen for a couple peeps at home. He says before we even finish our sentence that he then can't sell us the quad because he's under 16. He's 14, so because his mom is 40, she's not allowed to buy him a bike. Then Nate proceeds to tell us how he was younger and smaller when he was riding a bigger bike! Well thanks dude that doesn't help at all. Then he proceeds to try to be helpful by telling us that next time we go into the store or any motorbike store we need to say it's for an adult so they will sell it to us. So you want us to lie? Kinda like your website? Awesome just awesome. Way to go Nate! I hope the owners of Poway Motorsports don't have that in camera or recorded so when a lawsuit comes back at ya they Dont know who to blame. My God don't preach about legality and then tell the customer to lie! So....needless to say I've spent more time writing this than I did trying to buy a bike from Poway Motorsports. Save yourself some time and go to NCY or ECC, they have better customer service and their website is accurate. I guess for now we will just keep up with the life of Covid-19 and be virtually riding our bikes on YouTube! Thanks Nate for not helping! Oh and p.s. when you drive around looking for bikes all day swing by Fun Bike Center because those sales guys will make it work. They installed an inner tube incorrectly. It was twisted and I got a flat on the freeway. The shop tech circled the problem on the tube w a grease pen and gave it back. Obviously twisted when installed. Service manager would not honor work. They are close to my house but I'll never step foot in that shop again. I bought a KTM elsewhere. This was probably the best vehicle/motorcycle purchase ever! I was searching for a simple scooter and finally decided on a PCX 150 ABS. This scooter was mostly for my wife, but lately I've been the one riding it. Anyway, no one wanted to deal on an OTD price. This dealer did. Nate was great to deal with. He did everything over the phone and gave me the quote which didn't change when I arrived to pick up the scooter. So at the end of March, I drove all the way from Sacramento to pick up a scooter then drove all the way back (well...Santa Clara then Sacramento) - all done in one day to avoid making contact with people due to COVID-19. Nate helped load up the scooter onto my truck bed. I went in, paid for the scooter and I think I was outta there in about 30 min. Best dealership I've ever bought a bike from. The only dealer I've seen in SoCal that doesn't have "dealer markup".. I paid around 1500 less than I would've paid at the other local ktm dealerships. I was very impressed with how friendly and professional everyone was at the dealership. I had issues with the bike the day after I bought it (expected for an all new bike from any manufacturer), and they had no issue giving me a demo bike to take home for the night. I can't think of any other dealer that would do that, especially as willingly as Poway Powersports did. I live about two miles from NCY Motorsports, but 10/10 times I would make the commute to Poway for anything I need for my bike. It's hard to find a dealer that provides great service AND offers literally the best prices in SoCal. Poway Powersports does it. I'm very happy to have found a good spot for service in Poway. After being on a waiting list for six months at another shop, I finally gave up and brought my bike into Poway PowerSports. Ryan listened to my concerns and wrote my up a very complete and accurate estimate. I had some general maintenance work done, as well has the carburetor cleaned (my fault for letting the bike sit too long with gas in the bowl). I was looking for a new KTM 450SXF and one of my riding buddies told me to give these guys a look. Called them first as they were a bit of a drive away. I liked that they were straight forward and happy to give an out-the-door price over the phone. They weren't pushy at all. So this was a pretty disappointing experience. I am a big fan of supporting small local businesses, so I'm sad that my experience here was so poor. I had an EMISSIONS recall on my Honda Rebel, and I called ahead to ensure that they were able to take care of it. They confirmed they were so I brought it in. They turned it around in a reasonable amount of time and were able to hold onto my bike a little longer as I was out of town. When we go to pick it up, I confirm that the paperwork they provided (Receipt and work order) was all that the DMV needed. The man at the counter said yes. I wish I remembered his name, but he was a heavier set man with a brunette beard. I take it to AAA to get the recall cleared and registered and come to find out that there was a particular DMV form that they needed for all EMISSIONS recalls. I called Poway powersports immediately and was instantly met with attitude, argument, and a inability/unwillingness to find a solution promptly. "I've never heard of that form. I don't know what you're talking about. Well the guy who works on it is at a birthday party so I'm not gonna call him, you'll have to wait until Monday. I'll take your phone number back and we'll call you back on Monday." Well, 3 weeks later and I hadn't heard anything. I called back in and talked to the same guy and got no apology and the same attitude and lack of responsibility "I've been in this industry 20 years and have worked for Honda and have never heard of this. Josh was supposed to call you, I already had this marked down as 'handled'." No apology, in spite of the fact that their error made me unable to ride my bike legally for almost a month. Josh called me the next day and said that he had the form and that I could pick it up. Again no sorry for their error, nothing. Really glad it was a recall because if I had spent money on this, I'd have asked for it back with the poor service and attitude I received. read more

I drove from the Bay Area to get a bike from here because it was a great deal and they don't rip you apart by luring you in with a giant price reduction and then suddenly +3k dealer markup. Great all around experience. I went to Poway Powersports on the 26th of October to check out the 2019 KTM 390 Duke as they had it on sale for $4799 and I dealt with Tony. After checking their stock he was not able to locate the 2 2019's they had so he spoke with one of the co owners and he was able to secure me a 2020 KTM 390 Duke for the same price. After doing the numbers with tax and government fee's the bike came out to $5890 and some change but I was short as I only came in with $5500. He talked to the co owner again but he couldn't let the 2020 go for that amount. I told Tony no worries that I was still gonna buy the bike but it'll take a couple extra weeks which he was fine with. Went out there today on the 3rd of November and they hooked me up as I was a bit short still but Tony and Whitney (she's their finance guru) was able to work it out. Bonus is they don't even charge a Dealer Mark Up Fee which is great. If anyone is looking for either a Honda, KTM or a Benelli as well as a few other brand bikes they have this is the place to go. No pressure atmosphere, great sales rep in Tony plus they have a great finance center with Whitney doing her best to do what they can within reason to help you out. Super stoked with my purchase and I will definitely be going back once I'm ready to upgrade from the Duke 390. read more

Had a tire fixed here and a week later it went flat on me on the freeway. I took it back - they called to tell me that I "clearly ran over something." I asked for the old tube when I got the second one put on. They went to the back and retrieved it. Sadly, the tube was obviously twisted when they installed it. The hole was dead center on a W-shaped fold. The manager insisted that I ran over something. Even tho the evidence was right there in front of him. He said that my "after market rim was off sized." I'm an old cuss and I know how to install a tire - I just hate doing it. The service manager wouldn't back down even tho the tech even outlined it with a red pen. I shared the photo with a bunch of my riding buddies and now this shop is on the shitlist. I won't do business with liars. No excuses. The first time I came in it was at close, lights about to turn off guys ready to go home and yet he welcomed me in kindly so I could get my first helmet, gloves, goggles etc. working in retail I understand how it can be frustrating to have customers walk in at close and keep a crew from getting home after a long day, yet they were so nice and really gave the best customer service. I cannot say enough good things about this place. People are very respectful and everyone is always smiling. I chose them initially because of their no added mark-ups. Nate quoted me with an out the door price significantly lower than any other dealerships from the inland empire all the way to orange county. I drove 100 miles to get the bike I bought that I put a down payment on through phone. When I got there Nate already prepared all the necessary paper work and I was good to go within 30 minutes. Unfortunately, the bike I bought stalled apparently because of a faulty spark plug from the factory. I called Nate and he had Mark pick the bike up ASAP. Mark was just a joy to talk to. Nate said they will make it right. So they fixed the bike ( it was brand new with 1 mile on the odo when I got it, it was the factory installed spark plug that was the problem) and had Mark deliver it to my door step with no charge. I hope other dealerships follow their example and put the customers on top priority. My bike was less than $5,000 but they treated me like I was buying a more expensive bike.
