Great shop, always go to this shop and get great service. Josh is cool and very knowledgeable. Thank you

I looooove these guys! I really like that they send me the invoice before hand so I know what to expect. They suggest things after and give me a good timeline on when things should be done. I seriously trust them blindly, they have helped me so much with my bike read more

In one word: 'Perfect'! In a few more words: outstanding service, knowledgeable, kind, and very reasonably priced. This was my first time visiting this shop and meeting Josh. They scheduled an appointment with me, and he saw me right on time. Josh provided an estimate before starting the work, and even though the job took longer than he expected, he didn't charge me extra - he stuck to the original quote. These days, it's hard to find good professionals who are honest and reliable. It was my first time taking my BMW to this place, but definitely not the last time. Thank, you, thank you, and thank you again! read more

J's Speed Shop is the go-to repair shop. I rarely write reviews, but when a business goes above and beyond, I feel compelled to share. That's exactly what happened with J's Speed Shop when I brought my bike in for repairs. Josh kept me informed about the progress and made valuable recommendations, all of which he skillfully addressed. When I rode the bike after the repairs, the difference was immediately noticeable. In the 10 years I've owned this bike, it has never run better than it does now. The new fairings have transformed it--it no longer resembles a 2005 model. read more

Great motorcycle shop! I've brought my bike here a couple of items for basic maintenance, however referred friends for more intensive repairs. Services have always been handled with flawlessness. 1. Best service, very knowledgeable about motorcycles. A+ 2. Price for work performed: A+ 3. Clean shop and extremely organized + great location. A+ 4. Very meticulous and attention to details: A+ I searched San Diego and spoke with five different shops for service on my Yamaha Star 650. Need tires, all fluids (oil, gear ect) and a new battery. I drive 25 miles one way to get service. So many shops were closer. Josh (owner) answered all my questions clearly prior to setting an appointment. The work was impeccable. Funny, when I was there another guy with a BMW bike was having service on his bike (from LA) He has same story. Did his due diligence, looking for a shop while he was in SD and went with J's speed Shop for all the same reasons. You have a choice.. so Go to J's Speed Shop for anything motorcycle related. You don't have to thank me. (Thank Josh!) read more

This guy is the mechanic everybody wishes they had! Honest, punctual, and accurate. I brought in my 2006 Yamaha R1 that I just bought and that wouldn't stay on or run at all. Within 1 week Josh had everything diagnosed on it (which was extensive) and a full statement ready to go. When I asked if anything could wait he answered honestly and pointed out the things that weren't that important and what was vital. After I gave him the go ahead he had the whole bike ready by the date he promised and was right on budget. He called me beforehand to get my permission to charge $10 for hardware which shocked me with how transparent he was. I found out when I picked up the bike that he threw in hundreds of $ worth of extra parts that he just had lying around. A couple weeks later the stator and rotor went out and he had that fixed and ready to go within a couple days. I will definitely be going here for all my maintenance needs. Things fixed: bad wiring harness, bent fuel rod, damaged air box, cracked subframe, bad brakes, cracked coolant reservoir, stator and rotor, new fluids read more

Looking for a new place to take my BMW K1200rs in for service. I was a little bit worried about this place but after talking to the owner he put me at ease! He has been working on BMW's for a while now and he knows what he is doing! I took my bike in for new brake lines and he got the job done and pointed out other things I need to fix. The back brakes were shot and I had a nail in the back tire! He quickly fixed everything and he takes pride in fixing your bike! Best shop in San Diego! And half the cost of the dealer!! It shows that the little guys shop will be there for you! I love a business that takes pride in their work and not they're just blowing smoke up your ass! I highly recommend this shop to all my fellow riders! You will not be disappointed with their service! Safe riding! read more

I really had a great experience at Jay Speed shop. They got me up and going quickly as from out of town and just with a broke down bike and they really took their time on the bike and got it up and going for me found problems that I was having got them corrected, really make sure that my bike was ready to go for the long haul back to Northern California. I do appreciate everything they did for me. I felt they were fairly priced. They were good people and I will probably just have them work on my bike some more thank you Josh and whole crew at Jay's speed shop. It was a pleasure. read more

Excellent service. Excellent mechanics. Josh is an awesome guy. Runs a terrific shop. Friendly and accommodating. He'll actually work with you to arrange a day and time....no BS. Unlike another shop in town. read more

Great local shop!!! We're supporting family owned companies through this crazy time and was recommended by a friend. I swung by and had a nice chat with Josh and bought a bike disc brake lock. Had made an appt but have to reschedule due to another obligation but I'm going back to have a USB charger installed. He recommended another locally owned shop for extra keys to be cut and that was great too! They also handle insurance claims on bikes!!! I'll be back! read more

I forgot to post this a lot sooner but this is probably been one of the most best experiences I've had in any kind of motorcycle servicing! They really seem like they cared and are very welcoming. I had my BMW S1000rr come in for a general maintenance and they just blew me away and how much love and care they put into my motorcycle! I didn't really see any issues when I got my motorcycle back and they gave me great input on what things to look for in the future for my motorcycle. We had an issue during the maintenance procedure but they fixed it within a short amount of time and took care of any problems. I was a little skeptical of them servicing my motorcycle especially since in southern part of San Diego there's not very much places I can go for a European motorcycle servicing shops, the nearest one would be up in Escondido and I was not about to make that ride with my motorcycle acting up. So I'll be definitely going back in the near future! Thank you for all your help! Look forward to seeing you guys again :) read more

Don't get it twisted, Josh is the shit. He knows what he's doing and he knows how to do it. And even if you do, Do yourself a favor and take it to J's Speed Shop you won't be sorry read more

No worries I took my bike to fun bike center and they gave me a quote with no problem. You made a judgment off what you thought you knew. And you were wrong. And I was simply asking for a quote. That's it. You didn't have to do anything to the bike at all. I just needed a quote as my insurance agent explained to you on the phone, Thankfully my bike is fixed now with no thanks to you or your shop. And I doubt you have that much experience. Again your shop is trash and and doesn't know what they are doing. Close down ASAP to save people's money and time. And yes I use Yelp to write reviews wow big surprise there lol. read more

Awesome shop Josh and his team are the best in the business! I brought my bike after in after a failed attempt at transferring fairings and Josh was able to squeeze me into his busy schedule. This is the only shop I will take my bikes to. I have been to dealers and independent owned shops all over San Diego and this one is by far my favorite. Josh is honest with his work and pricing. 25,000 mile service done on my RSV4 and she's still kicking hard. Always fair and doesn't take decades to finish a job like some other places. Highly recommend if you haven't been. read more

This is the only shop that I will trust with my motorcycles. The quality of work, customer service, and pricing cannot be beat.

I'll give them 4 stars for now as I only went there to get my tires changed. I'll update this if I get something major done. This is a mom and pop's shop with Josh and Desiree (not sure if I spelled that right) being the owners. Their customer service is great. I started messaging Josh through Facebook and he was very prompt with his replies and answered all my questions. Pricing (tires changed - off the bike) are cheaper than dealers. I mean WAAAAY cheaper. I asked a couple of pricing for different jobs like valve adjustment and stuff and they are still pretty competitive (cheaper). So I might be bringing my bikes here if I need something done. Overall, I will come back here again and see how Josh does with different types of jobs if I don't feel like doing it myself. read more

Needed a brake job and rotor swapped. called 3 days ahead and they got it done in 2 hours same day. Amazing and fair price as always.

Had and oil leak due to a bad Oring on my 20 yr old Honda Shadow that required nearly removing the entire engine. Called many shops and no one would even touch it. I called J's and Josh said bring it in we'll take a look at it. Well they took on the challenge and fixed it. I had them replace the front tire, new wheel bearings and an oil change. They also noticed my thermostat was broken. These guys are great, my bike is running like a champ again. I wish I knew about this place years ago. I highly recommend J's, best experience at an MC shop I've ever been to. Thanks guys! read more

They removed the slack from my brake lever and didn't realize this could lock up the front brake on the freeway when the hydraulic fluid heats up and expands blocking off the master cylinder bleed port so pressure can't be released. It says how to adjust free-play in the manual with warnings about checking it periodically. End lever free-play for hydraulic brakes and clutches is usually around 4-6mm (check your manual). All the positive reviews had me hoping that I found a good shop to take over some of the maintenance on my daily rides so I can work on other projects. This and other issues has me questioning their knowledge and attention to detail. Such an amature and potiantally life threatening mistake is why I rate them 1 star. Take your bike here at your own risk. read more

Super nice and friendly employees here, they did the job quick and easy. Awesome experience at J's Speed Shop today! With everyday commuting (and my lack of common sense), I wore down my rear brake pads and scratched up my rear rotor. I was able to call in for a same day appointment to get them both replaced for a really decent price. (I brought in my own parts.) I was in and out in half an hour. They noticed some wear and tear on my sprockets and showed me what to look for. Everyone was friendly at the shop, especially the cutest husky puppy named Storm! Highly recommend J's Speed Shop and really appreciate how friendly, professional, and quick they were with servicing my bike! read more

Love this place!! Bought my bike, took it in and requested a paint job and powder coat for rims pegs and levers. Josh took my bike apart and delivered my stuff to powder 1. By chance I came upon the shop while visiting an establishment next door. I happen to see a bike for sell that was just right for me. Made a great purchase from Josh (GSXR-1000). I asked Josh numerous questions about upgrades and modifications. He answered every question with knowledge of the bike and also recommend great mod components. I was so comfortable with our dealing and reasonable pricing over other dealerships I'd dealt with. I left the bike to get everything I wanted. Highly recommend bringing your bike to J's Speed Shop for maintenance and mods. Definitely worth five (5) stars!! read more

This is the only shop I will let touch my bike ever again. Hands down the most knowledgeable staff and very professional. They called me with updates multiple times and kept me in the loop on everything. I don't want to get into pricing and money things because that is all circumstantial. That will save you money and probably keep you alive in the long run, Just sayin. read more
