Mikey is such a gem! My son's bike chain kept coming loose. I swung it by, and rather than upselling me, they helped me with a quick repair and showed me how to fix it myself in the future to boot. Today Mikey, I believe the owner of the shop, reached out to me via text, after calling me. I could not pick up the phone as I was with clients. He explained that they had made a mistake in the final cost of the repair, that the had counted a $40 charge twice. He was very apologetic and he started a reimbursement for that amount back to my credit card. Additionally, he offered a discount for one of their top tuneup services, which I truly appreciated it. This weekend, I'll ride and probably admire the top-notch quailty of a job they've done in chaging the shifting cables, and I also have to say that their customer service is also top of the line. Took my bike to get repairs here at Poway bicycle. What made me decide to have my bike repair there was Mikey and his other technician. They greeted me very kindly and were open and honest. They identified what needed to be repaired on my bike and were very knowledgeable. I love their positive vibe and attitude. You know when great work is being done when you know they love their job and enjoy helping people. The quality of the work done on my bike was great. Never bought a bike here, but service is a joke. I try to support my local businesses, but I just can't with this one anymore. Daughter's e-bike needed a tune-up, flat repaired and likely brake pads replaced. I brought all the parts. I made an "appointment" for Thursday, which usually means something gets done by the next day. Nope. Got my bike back nine(!) days later. I get it, everyone gets backed up, so the challenge then is communication. The right response is, "hey, we're backed up now. Can you bring it next Tuesday?" Phone calls for status were picked up about 1/2 of time. Literally never seen that in retail, and yes, I've worked retail. When they did pick up, they told me they needed a spoke as one broke mysteriously in the wheel truing process. I happened to have one and brought it down immediately. Days go by. The next time they picked up, the mechanic said he wasn't aware that the spoke was there. Again, communication. Guess what? He broke another spoke, so I brought two more. Did I get any sort of volume or goodwill discount for all of my inconvenience? Hell no. $60 to fix a flat on a bike they were already working on is aggressive, but $65 to replace two spokes while the tire was already off was egregious. Every single time I don't get a detailed estimate up front I get burned. When will I learn? The mechanic initially recommended that I go to San Diego Fly Rides instead since they specialize in e-bikes. That will be the plan from now on. read more

Came in on July 3rd to get 1 broken spoke and rear tire replace. As I walk in the owner and his staff greeted me right away which is very welcoming. They explained what should be done and I followed their recommendations which is to replace 2 tires and 1 broken spoke. Came back next day to pick it up and they even gave me 10 percent off. Poway Bicycle. Im not going to write a 1 star as there are good and bad technicians, i think i got the bad apple. Ive come here a few times even after they overcharged for a repair they messed up on. Main repair is from years ago before ownership was transferred. 2020 i dont remember if this was 2019-2020. Had a 2016 intense tracer 275 a bearing replacement through black mountain that was going to take weeks to get done. I was looking for the bike to get done asap and Quinn at poway bike (now snowdogcycles) used a hacksaw (or dremel) to pull my bearing out which ended up damaging my rear suspension lower rocker. (He shouldve used a bearing removal tool as the inner race and balls crushed and fell out. Outer race was stuck inside rocker) this cost me $1500+ to get done for a $30 quote. The supposed overnight repair was like 2 weeks long. I went back (2021) to get a tire redone from Tubed to tubeless. The technician said no prob we can get it done. Give me like half an hr. He did not inspect rim as the rim i guess what not tubeless ready. Gave it to me with goo in brand new tire off of tire and everything was a mess. Previous owner was there and he charged me for ever labor and the goo that was installed. Not sure of current ownership and havent been there since. Id love to start going back but dont want to have a similar experience. *Update: for those of you who are saying Poway bike wouldnt do that... heres a picture. Post repair, bicycle has been down for 2 or 3 years. A bit bummed as it was my first full suspension bicycle. Quinn Groff proceeded this repair, shortly after damaging my Intense, he quit and started Snow dog cycles, just FYI. (Im going to locate receipt from poway bicycle) read more

Poway Bicycle hooked it up with an awesome road bike! Was in the store and was helped out by Quinn who was more than happy to answer all of my questions... I must have had around 12 or more. Very noob friendly :P I am a complete beginner when it comes to bikes and wanted to purchase one to ride around in that would last me a while and that would take me to and from places locally without having to take my car. I expressed all of my use cases to Quinn who was able to pick out one perfectly fit for my intended use. He explained how to change gears (yes I didn't know how to do this with the drop handles), what the perfect height for your seat should be (almost fully extended leg at the bottom but not quite) and other questions, like the optimal PSI for tires (100 psi. wow) Just took it out for a 6 mile ride and I loved every second of it. I also bought an accompanying helmet, bike lock, and repair gear. Absolutely no complaints from me. They're open during this covid season btw!! LOL read more

I would never recommend this business to anyone. I brought a bike in that needed some new tires and brake pads. They told me they didn't have the innertubes and they talked me into tubless tires and since I've never used tubless in the past I agreed. Turns out the rims on the bike aren't meant to use tubless tires so after about a week they were flat. Total rip off but they got my $180 for about an hours work. I understand that rims made for tube tires can be converted to tubless with rimstrips, valves and sealant but you'd be better off if you have the correct rims and avoid the conversion if possilbe read more

Buyers be aware of the parts they sell online. I thought they had the parts I purchased in stock but found out they get them through vendors. Waited the 3-5 business days thinking they are getting my online order ready and nothing... I ordered on 11-16-23 called to see what the hold up was and gave the order number they gave through my email and said they had nothing of that order on their end. The guy on the phone told me to call there other store that dose their online orders, and they had it an its a week later. They finally shipped some of my parts out but still waiting on my grips!!! Chain on e-bike came undone and tangled. I stopped by on a Friday and Vinnie asked if I could bring the bike by Tuesday morning before they opened.
