Not a fan. Our bike company offer to use these guys as a local repair shop under warranty. They were terrible. Never answer their phones. Never have anything good to say. After 10 days, I reached out and finally got a hold of somebody. Still hadn't started on my bike. Picked it up that day and took it somewhere else. They fixed it the same day. Shopping e-bikes while Asian! I went to this place twice, the first time i got ignored even i was there first before a white gentleman came in. Nobody even said hi to me. i told myself, maybe they were just busy ( even though i saw a couple of employees drinking coffee and sitting down) so me and my son went there again..and they were several of them working attending 2 customers and again we got completely ignored !!! i don't recommend this place if you are not Caucasian (white people ) !!! for service 0 !! bicycles are awesome though ! a little bit pricey but i was willing to dig into my savings if they only are not arrogant and racist ! read more

We bought three bikes a few weeks ago from this shop and mine had a little shipping damage to a front brake part- no big deal and they stayed on top of it, repaired it, installed tubuless system for me and we very helpful in helping us decide which bikes might suit my wife and son the best. Walked over in La Jolla cove to the office to see about the tours. These guys are super real and super friendly. When we came in, we were offered water and snack -- and a lot of information about the tours and bikes. We ended up choosing the Torrey Pines electric bike tour with Peter. Peter is this super hip Agassi clone whose joy of living is infectious and his broad knowledge of horticulture is helpful in understand the region. It was a breath of fresh air (literally) to go on this tour versus a normal city bike tour and see the vast views, including the glider port near Torrey Pines shores, UCSD, the Salk Institute. I do sort of feel terrible about using these advanced e-bikes and passing the natives on the steep hills. But the experience is great, the tour guides are really helpful, and the equipment is all clean and high functioning. Practical items: tours come with water bottles and snacks. There are small lockers available in the tour shop. There is also a mostly finished bathroom in the back too. Peter, bro, if you're reading this, thanks for the tequila shot! Keep it real! read more

STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS! Extremely disappointed with this company's stance on returning deposits and general customer service/compassion. Placed a deposit on a certain bike and when it was already submitted, found that it was non-refundable. They claimed that it was "cost" for setting up the bike (tubeless, sizing, etc.). However, they had informed me that they had a bike that was already set up and I had to just do a sizing/fit. To add, I made the request for a refund of deposit prior to going in for a fitting. I then requested a transfer of the deposit onto another bike, which they had listed online as being in-stock. Come to find out, they informed me that it was not in-stock, regardless of their false advertising, refused to order that particular bike for me, and instead tried moving me onto what I felt was an inferior bike model with lower specs (probably to unload unwanted stock onto an unfortunate unknowing customer). Get real man! In another attempt to try and work with this shop, I asked if I could use the deposit money towards purchasing bike accessories sold at the shop. Once again, they said no to that request. In this day and age of suffocating costs/expenses, they were unwilling to refund my deposit, work with me on getting the bike I truly wanted, or work out a deal for me to get something in return for my hard-earned money. Their only consolation was that they said they would hold the deposit to the end of the year, for me to use on another bike purchase at their store. However, they would not work with me to get the bike I truly wanted, even though it was advertised on their website. Time after time, I was met with unsympathetic responses. STAY AWAY from these guys. Once they have your money, customer service goes out the door. read more

I bought my Yamaha from FlyRides about a month ago and have been cautious and nervous about venturing out on my own. Will and Noah led us on a ride on the trails around the shop this past Saturday. This is a business that is run right. Every detail is thought out, water, snacks, helmets, bags for the bikes and amazing tour guides and staff. All 7 of us did the 2 1/2 hour tour that includes Mount Soledad and every one of all enjoyed it. Justin was wonderful, he is obviously an excellent biker and very informed about the area. His stories kept us entertained. After many years of biking it is going to be hard to go back to a regular bike after enjoying going up a 15% grade at 17 miles an hour on an electric without much effort. read more

I was a competitive tennis player until it dawned on me several months that my body can no longer take the cement court's assault on my joints and limbs. Justin and his team were outstanding! We had a mix-up with the time of our tour and the guys gave us great suggestions on how to spend our morning in La Jolla. When we returned in the afternoon for our ride with Justin, our guide, we had a wonderful experience seeing some of the most beautiful parts of La Jolla. Justin took the time to ensure we felt safe and comfortable on our bikes and took great care of us throughout the ride. I am an inexperience rider and Justin made sure I knew everything I needed to so I could not just complete the ride safely, but enjoy my time on the bike. He also had great stories and anecdotes to really connect the landscape to our trip. There are special surprises along the ride and it was definitely the highlight of our trip to La Jolla. This is a wonderful way to see La Jolla and I highly recommend doing a bike tour with Fly Rides no matter your experience or fitness level.
