Just had a beer, but a lovely u shaped bar and good looking menu. We'll be back for the stuffed peppers.

I thought this was an absolute great little hidden gem of a Tavern. Had the French onion soup, and the Cajun chicken tortellini. The soup was perfectly balanced not too much salt. Very good flavor. The Cajun chicken tortellini was fabulous. Somehow the chicken was so tender and moist. Typically in a cream sauce it's overcooked and dry and chewy. This was absolutely moist and delicious. Sausage was just right. Very very balanced dish. Really enjoyed it. Jeanne was my waitress and she was spot on with drinks and advice on the menu. Very helpful very pleasant. Now the tavern itself is very welcoming but understand it is a tavern. I was here on a Saturday night for dinner and it was quite loud because the bar is right next to the tables. But that's to be expected at a tavern. If I wanted quiet, I'd go to church.

Ice cold Cold Snap in a frozen glass

New ownership has made this place even better. The place was packed last night with people escaping the feeling of cabin fever from the blizzard. Beer was ICE cold and came in a frozen glass. Wings were perfect! Plump, almost crispy exterior. Spicy medium sauce with a juicy wing on the inside. And the Potters burger is amazing too. Thick perfectly cooked patty with a stuffed banana pepper on top and a side of stuffed pepper sup on that side that you can dunk or smother you burger in. Then you finish the soup like a shot to complete your meal.

Ordered fish fries last night and they were pretty disappointing. All of the sides were pretty bland and tiny portions. The fish itself was pretty good but nothing special. Only a 30 minute wait for takeout around 7pm though which was nice because it's hard to get a takeout fish fry on a Friday night during lent in South Buffalo without calling several places and waiting an hour and a half.

Called for a reservation on a Saturday evening and was seated on the patio with no wait. Ordered a draft Guinness and a vodka lemonade which were served with a short wait, the patios were busy in this phase 2 opening time. Ordered a steak sandwich and a BLT which were served promptly and were good. The steak sandwich featured an uncut steak on a roll with cheese and spinach. Really enjoyed the steak sandwich. The prices were very reasonable and the staff friendly and attentive, will be sure to return.

Stopped here around 5pm on a Friday evening. The bar was packed, but seating was available ... by the time we left most tables were taken. It was pretty loud inside with the after work crowd, but we didn't mind it since it helped drown out the "outdoor voices" of our kids. They have a very tiny parking lot, but spots are available on the side street. We ordered the Five Alarm Burger (special of the day) and the Potters Burger. Both were cooked to a perfect medium and the buns complimented the patties - not overly "bready" but held up to the juiciness of the burgers and saucy toppings. The spicy queso sauce (on Five Alarm) had a nice zing to it and the Potters Burger is served with a large condiment cup of stuffed banana pepper soup to dip it in. You'll want to ask for a spoon to finish it up, it's that good. We also had a 1/2 breaded fish fry for $9. It was a decent size for being a half-order and with the sides, it made for a filling meal. We asked to 2 potato choices instead of slaw. It ended up being a $3 upcharge, which is a bit pricey; however, the roasted reds and sweet fries were both delicious. The sweet fries are waffle cut and lightly shaken in a cinnamon honey butter. The mac salad didn't look like anything special, but it was flavorful. I remember they used to have a non-mayo based mac salad that was fantastic ... would love for them to bring it back. It was a nice surprise to find a kids menu. $6 with fries, drink, and ice cream treat. The kids decided on the chicken fingers. They were hand breaded in Panko crumbs. Not our favorite, as the breading takes on the flavor of the oil that it is fried in. And at this particular visit, the fingers were overcooked and burnt at some of the edges. We did forget about the ice cream treat at the end, but no worries because the kids were stuffed. As for the service, the waitress was friendly and made sure we had plenty of napkins (necessity with kids and when I eat burgers). She did get busy when the dinner crowd started to roll in, so it was understandable when it took her awhile to check back. Overall this is a good spot for burgers and if you're often intrigued by specials of the day. They seem to have something for everyone - vegetarian specials, meat and potato dishes, seafood entrees, and traditional handheld options, as well as a couple unique ones.

Turkey BLT (hold the Turkey) and sweet potato fries

Stopped in for a late lunch with my aunt. It is a small little pub but very cozy and welcoming. All decked out for the holidays. The bartender/waitress was very personable and attentive. We started with the coconut shrimp (yummy) and then I got a BLT with sweet potato fries (I had the Turkey BLT hold the Turkey lol) and my aunt got the beef on weck that I recommended. Both delicious. Can't wait to go back.

Depends on what you're looking for. The beer and the wings were delicious. My waitress made an excellent recommendation for Murphy's Style. If you're looking for "ales" as advertised you will likely be disappointed as those consisted of nothing more than name brands. Even a local brew was unable to be found. My waitress though excellent when ordering down the rest of my meal playing with her phone while my water glass sat empty. All in all a cute little place inside a former house right on the main road with outstanding food.

A south buffalo Irish Staple on Potters Rd. I've been here a few times and the food is affordable and the serving size is gracious. This time around, I got the Potters Burger, which is like a banana pepper flavored burger ( I ordered it medium but it was more on the mid well -well side) - flavorful and huge with fries and a side of banana pepper sauce for dipping. My dining companions got the chicken nachos and mango-Habanero bbq wings and once again they were crowd pleasers with big portions. It was not too noisy at 3:30pm on a Monday, but often the bar is loud and crowded so plan accordingly!

I've tried their Reuben, chicken tenders, fish fry, and buffalo chicken wrap and everything is super good! Highly recommend

First off, I was greeted and found staff friendly and efficient! You have plenty of options for seating .. dining area, front bar, back bar, even an outdoor patio bar. Although it is dive bar-esque, it was nice and clean (let's be honest .. some dives have a stench and stickiness that can definitely ruin your appetite, no matter how much you may love them). They have a set up for bands to play, as one was playing while I was there for their 2 year anniversary (congrats!). What was nice is although I could hear the band (it was playing in the back and I was up front), it wasn't over whelming me. I have eaten places where, no matter where you sit, it's extremely loud, and I appreciated that you had a choice here. Now onto the food: The food should have been doomed to fail; my tastebuds were prepared to eat sweet, buttery, syrupy French toast with a mocktail at brunch elsewhere. But wasn't hyped about the menu because of this (which is not dog and pony's fault .. I had to work and didn't have time to research where else brunch was available). I settled on the umami smashburger by a suggestion of my waitress. Now once again, could have been doomed to fail as I'm not a French fry person and my favorite cheeseburger is one I make on my own. BUT WOW their food blew me away and made me forget all about my brunch let-down. The French fries were fantastic and had a great seasoning on them! The smashburger was great to the last bite .. and I was NOT expecting to finish it as it was a really nice portion (I ate lunch now 10 hours ago and didn't need to eat again it was so filling!) but it was so dang gone good I sure finished it! Smoked cheddar .. chimichuri aioli ... kimchi bacon jam .. oh ya that bacon jam was EVERYTHING!! Thank you to the staff at Dog and Pony for making my long drive worth while!

I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.

No reservations taken for Ladies Night and you must sit at the bar or one of the 2 bar tables . We sat at the bar. The deal is comprised of one martini or a glass of house wine, a plate of Parmesan truffle fries and a Caesar salad for $20. We saw a picture online and assumed the platters were for 2. No!! You get your own very large serving of the best fries and a fantastic caeser salad! The presentation was so nice with the fries and salad coming on a two tiered server. The fries were so thin and crispy with lots of fresh parm and lightly dressed with truffle oil ( as it should be. Most restaurants douse them ... not good.) the Caeser salad was a mix of romaine and kale with large croutons, a good Caeser dressing and cheese. Just so yummy. And the martini... we ordered chocolate martinis and they were fabulous ! Kudos to the bartender. Would I go again.. yes!! And I'd like to try their regular menu as well. Because of that, we were honestly really grateful that everything worked out smoothly once we arrived. Service was decent overall, though there were a few hiccups. About half of the menus at the table were missing the inside pages, and check-ins from the staff were a bit slow at times--especially while we were trying to set up our presentation tech (connecting to Wi-Fi, tracking down an extension cord, etc.). We ordered several appetizers for the table: conch fritters, crab cakes, Caribbean beef pockets, and Saratoga chips. All of them were well received. It was my first time trying conch fritters--I expected something closer to calamari, but they were more like hush puppies (minus the classic Southern cornmeal flavor). The Saratoga chips, on the other hand, were dangerously addictive--think movie theater popcorn where you just keep reaching for more. For the main course, most of us ordered the scallops, and they were incredible. Total flavor bomb. I swapped the au gratin potatoes for mashed potatoes and nearly overdid it--they were super garlicky and completely addictive. For dessert, I took home the peanut butter mousse pie along with a half dozen cookies. I loved that they warmed up the chocolate chip cookies so they tasted like they had just come out of the oven. They also had a subtle cinnamon/cardamom note that made them stand out. Overall, it's a great spot for food, and the back rooms plus dedicated parking lot make it especially convenient for larger group dinners or presentations.

The craziest part about it is that Winfield's Pub is literally just 10 minutes from my House. A conveniently small place that packs big Bold Flavors. Like as you are driving down Ridge Road towards the main Lackawanna area. A place that if you want to enjoy, you'd have to park in front of it or park on the Side Streets of the neighborhood across from it and walk over. After trying out their Food at a Stillwater Farm Dinner consisting or Birria Tacos and Sausage stuffed Chicken Breast. To me that was a nice welcoming Card telling me to come right away instead of wasting more time ignoring the Place. You walk up 3 Steps and in you are greeted by the Owner's wife Sherryl, the Owner and the Head of Winfield's (Tab Daulton) is running the show making sure food gets pumped out of their Small Kitchen. While their son Thomas is at the Bar making Cocktails of the highest Quality with some of the most unique names that I've ever heard. My 1st visit was enjoying a Birthday Dinner with loved ones in the center of the Restaurant. While going over the menu, I had my 1st Cocktail called The Ghostwriter in a tall cylindrical glass that had Gin, Herbal Liqueur, Coconut, Lime, Lemongrass Syrup & Dill. Sweet and Herbaceous. Next up was some Fresh made Focaccia Bread studded with Rosemary, Garlic, Tomatoes and Zucchini that was so Warm and Flavorful like it just came right out the Oven. You know I like to drink Beer and cook with it too, I couldn't help but get myself a cup of their Beer Cheese soup with Bratwurst and Housemade Croutons. Every single Spoonful I took was Rich with a hint of Spicy heat at the end. Next up was a plate off Duck Confit Poutine with Goat Cheese (I opted for that instead of Cheese Curds). You might look at it and see a big globby mess but what I saw and what I ate was pure Gluttonous Heaven. French Fries, bits of Rich and Tender Duck Meat and mild and Tangy Cheese which equaled a comforting Bite. Next was another Cocktail I got called the Dirty Harry (named after one of Clint Eastwood's best-known roles). Another drink that hit hard consisting of Pineapple, Doctor Bird Rum, Boomsa Herbal Liquor and Banana Shrub Jam. While waiting for my main course, I tried some of Nathan's BBQ Pork Belly Burnt Ends. Who doesn't like tender Pieces of Meat with the outside bring Crispy while the Meat inside just melts away on your Tongue. For our Entrees, everyone enjoyed something different like Nathan and Brianna having Seared Chicken with Vegetables, Mike enjoying a Burger, Rick just getting a few Appetizers, Grandma Carol eating Fish Tacos, Jimmy and Kathy enjoying a Steak. While I got myself Seared Scallops over Sweet Corn Risotto with Tarragon. This looked to me and ate like a Summer Dish, why on earth was it on the Menu during close to Fall/Winter, I don't know. But I'll say this, I loved every bite, you get Sweetness from both the Seafood and the Corn with the Tarragon at the end giving it a light hit of Licorice. Thomas kindly gave me a Complimentary Drink while waiting for Dessert called the Legislation #2. It had Rye Whiskey, Dry Vermouth, Orange Cognac and Acidic Phosphate. While it had all those Ingredients, it was a simple looking Drink with a Jurassic sized Ice Cube in it. But I will say this, this drink packed one heck of a Potent Punch. To finish off the Meal, I got myself a big slice of Guinness Chocolate Cake. One of my favorite Beers has been Transformed into a Dessert. It had such a Deep chocolate Flavor with richness from the frosting packed in between each layer. I walked over and personally thank Tab and his Crew for the great Food that night. The only issue we had was waiting to get our Checks, but other than that everything went great. Another one to cross off my list, another restaurant that I will no longer Ignore. Winfield's better be ready for some more Visits from me in the Future. !!!
