I was craving Chinese food so decided to stop in. This spot is always busy and well maintained, with a very cool vibe. The staff is extremely pleasant, welcoming, and friendly. As for the food, it's very good, probably the best take out in Whittier. The Ingredients are fresh, tasty, and full of flavors. They give huge portions at very reasonable prices. You can't go wrong coming to Pots N Woks when craving authentic Chinese food.

So dare I say this is hands down the best Chinese food I've ever had? It's true! There is plenty of parking so no need to worry. It's located is a shopping center and it looks pretty freshly renovated. The service here is great, they are super friendly and welcoming. But let's talk about the food, the real deal! I got the combo C. I got the bbq pork, the mushroom chicken, beef broccoli, with half fried rice and chow mien. The food tasted so fresh and delicious, they pack your plate too! This was definitely my favorite Chinese food place of all time.

After this place was recommended to me by a friend as one of the best vegan Chinese restaurants he's ever been to, hubby and I knew we had to make a visit. Upon driving up, I liked how a "vegan friendly" sign was clearly displayed in the front. Inside the restaurant, there is a cute mural on the wall as well as several tables available for people to sit at if they choose to eat at the restaurant. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and were impressed by the clearly labeled vegan menu options. Prices are listed for meat combo meals as well as vegan combo meals. Prior to ordering, hubby asked if any vegan options contains nuts and the employee went and confirmed that the vegan Kung pow chicken contains peanuts but all the other vegan options were available for him to eat. I decided to order a three item combo with half chow mein, half fried rice, vegan orange chicken, vegan BBQ pork, and vegan mushroom chicken, with a watermelon lemonade to drink. Hubby also chose the three item combo ordered half chow mein, half fried rice, vegan orange chicken, vegan Mongolian beef, and vegan BBQ pork, with a passion fruit lemonade to drink. We decided to split an order of veggie egg rolls and macaroni salad. Our lemonades were quickly prepared and our food followed soon after. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw our to go containers clearly labeled as vegan. The watermelon lemonade was the best lemonade I ever had in that it tasted like a liquid watermelon Jolly Rancher to me which was delicious. Hubby enjoyed his passion fruit lemonade and said it had a good balance of sweetness and tartness. The vegan BBQ pork was excellent, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and had the perfect amount of sauce of it. The vegan orange chicken was tender and sweet but not overly sweet and the vegan mushroom chicken was cooked well and had a good balance of vegan chicken, mushrooms and vegetables. The vegan Mongolian beef was well seasoned and gave hubby the exact amount of spice that he likes and paired well with the chow mien and fried rice. The egg rolls and macaroni salad were also very tasty as well. Although we began eating our meal at the restaurant, the food portions are so large that we decided to save some of it for a later meal. Due to the friendly and attentive staff as well as the variety of vegan menu items, we definitely plan to visit the restaurant again in the future.

Ask the Community - Pots n' Woks

Are there still low carb options available?

Hi do they still offer catering?

    I believe they do, yes.

Are you on any food delivery apps?

I've ordered Pots n' Woks via Uber Eats -but it will show as 'unavailable' when the restaurant is closed (Mon-Tues i think)

    Is anything gluten free?

No, they no longer have gluten free things on their menu.

What are the vegan proteins made of?

    Mostly soy I believe

Do you have non vegan meats? Like real meats as well as vegan?

Yes! Options for carnivores and vegans LOL

Are the vegan options available to order on the side as while?

Unfortunately not. Their vegan options are the main courses and they make em fresh to order so you gotta wait about 10-20 min (depending on how busy) for the food to be ready :) unless you call ahead. They do have vegan desserts on the side though.

Does anyone have an idea how much a platter of vegan Chao mein and vegan kung pao chicken for about 10 people cost?

All alternative meats cost more than actual meat... it's not far off from Panda Express where you get less food same + price and not vegan nor vegetarian. They give you a lot of food and in my experience vegan isn't cheap. I think their price… Read more

    Any gluten-free options?

    Rice noodles

For the vegan plate is it possible to get half orange chicken and half beef broccoli?

There is no orange chicken or beef broccoli @ Hafez cafe! It's a Persian food not Asian!

What is the vegan walnut shrimp made of?

What is the vegan chicken made out of?

I believe soy and wheat gluten !

Does anyone know how to contact the owner? What's her name?

She is usually there. I would try calling her or showing up.

    Is all the menu vegan?

They have a separate menu of vegan yummyness. They make all the vegan entrees specially for you.

6 pm, Sunday, February 22, 2026…read more I ordered golden wall and ordered through Yelp but it redirected me to a different food ordering app (BeyondMenu) so I ordered the dinner for four family meal and I added two extra sides of egg flower soup. The family was not feeling well at all and they said hit the spot. It's been a few years since we've ordered takeout from Golden wall. I wasn't sure if it was going to be the same but had to go with what we knew. The food there was very good so ordering from the app was pretty easy. We knew what we wanted putting in the information and payment information was very easy. So, I figured best to pay right away so they make the food immediately instead of waiting for me to arrive there to pay. I didn't want that to happen! I wanted to get there at the perfect time and announce that I was there to pick up an online order. So when I got there the restaurant was dimly lit which I guess was all right for the diners that were inside eating. When I was walking up almost looked like the restaurant was closed. They're in an old strip mall and not really any bright lights on the outside indicating that they were open. They did have a neon sign in the window that said Chinese food. Once checked in, it only took a couple minutes for the order to come out boxed and placed on the pickup table. There's a lot of food for what you pay for a family dinner and then two containers of soup that also included two bags of crispy wontons and a bag of fortune cookies and soy sauce. The dinner included crispy egg rolls which thankfully seems to be under the same management they cut the corners of the styrofoam container to vent the steam so by the time I got to the house and let egg rolls were still crispy although your mileage may vary depending on how far you live from the restaurant so I'd say you know the food still tasted the same although I feel that they could have seasoned it a little more ask my family how they felt about the egg flower soup and the comment was that although it was planned it really hit the spot and was very comforting as they ate the soup because they weren't they were under the weather so I'm glad that the soup hit the spot for them.
