Do you want to give them a little bit of time because good food is that something you can get in five minutes. Give them a little extra time you won't regret it. This place is very clean people work really hard to keep these places clean in the food fresh deserve a lot of recognition because you can see some of them just really love what they do... Yesterday on 2/2/26 I walked over to Teriyaki Bistro, a small diner on Greenleaf Ave in Whittier where I had been to about half a dozen times before. I 'm 71yrs old and had a day at the doctors office of testing and a lot of waiting...anyway I just wanted something to eat for dinner and to go back to my little studio apt and rest. I had Always taken my little white Maltese with me for the walk and "Always" picked him up, walked inside and placed my order and then go wait "Outside" with my dog till it was done...Never putting him down mind you (unless outside). Well last night was different, I was Refused Service cause I walked in holding my dog to place my order and was told I could not order food there, well holding my dog (which is only 2yrs old and very much a puppy)...NO Service For You, A PREVIOUS CUSTOMER! I Said "What?, I've eaten here several times before with no issue, you took my order you know I place my order and go wait outside cause I have my dog"...same man that had taken my order about 6 times before, I guess cause I confronted him about it, next thing I knew, some 6ft security person, he said, told me I had to leave...a few choice words and I went to sleep with NO Dinner!! I went to eat teriyaki with my family for father's day. It was around 11am or so we went to catch a movie at the cinema nearby. When we approached the cashier the guy behind the counter seemed annoyed with us for no reason but that didn't stop us from still wanting to try the food. When our food was ready, the same guy just stared at us until we came to the counter... we weren't even sure if it was our order but surely enough it was. The teriyaki bowl with pineapple is delicious. I am very glad that I did not let that man with a bad attitude drive me away because it's amazing! I definitely recommend. I ordered the #2 chicken and beef teriyaki combo and it comes with white rice. You get to choose two toppings and I picked the crushed pineapple and grated cheese. It was $8.95. My co-worker got the #8 ribs for $10.99. Our food came inside styrofoam trays and his tray was twice as big as mine because the ribs came with salad and mashed potatoes. He wasn't that fond of the mashed potatoes but said that everything else was good. I thought my food was small and I was so hungry but I actually almost didn't finish it as there was a lot of food packed in that tray. There are teriyaki sauce and Sriracha sauce (very spicy) on the table and adding the teriyaki sauce made the food taste even better. The man behind the counter was very friendly and the place is clean. There's more tables upstairs but we were too tired to go up there. We wanted our food now. We strolled around and there are very nice little shops in the area. Unfortunately, a lot of the places were closed as we got there late. It looks like old-school downtown. This is a great spot located on a corner in Uptown Whittier. There is ample parking both on the adjacent streets and in a city lot located behind the restaurant. The outside advertises their multiple teriyaki specials. Once inside it is clean and there is seating in the first and second floors. It's easy to place an order and after trying the majority of the popular items I'm pleased to say they were all delicious. This is a place I find myself going back to again and again. read more

You can choose two toppings to add on it which was different from most teriyaki places. He enjoyed his meal. The popcorn chicken was the clear winner from everything we ordered. It was on the pricey side, though it seems they probably make it in house instead of from frozen. It was something we will definitely get again. The restaurant itself is clean. Well, after searching for some fast take-out, I finally decided to give this place a shot because people seem to like this place. I hesitated to go inside because I was questioning if this place was even in business anymore. The paint was dull, I didn't see a sign, and some thugs etched graffiti in the windows. Well, I was relieved to know this place was open, so I stepped inside. Well, I took a close look at the menu, but I couldn't decide what to order. Since everything was dirt cheap, I ordered 2 items: the teriyaki & chicken bowl, and the teriyaki chicken burrito all for about $12. If you order a bowl, you have the option of getting sesame seed, cucumber, green onion, pineapple, cabbage, and cheese (50 cents for each extra topping). I got sesame seed and green onion. When I got home, I opened my bag and I was shocked to see how huge the portion was for the "bowl." The beef was good, but the chicken breast was a bit dry. I don't like my breasts dry. I like them soft and juicy... I guess next time I'll get the chicken thigh instead. As for the burrito, I'm saving it for dinner because I'm stuffed ^__^v I suppose you can call me a fan.
