This is the best pizzeria in the Betheada area. While I'm not sure it would compare item for item with a NYC corner pizza shop it does have something those places lack: great service and free soda refills. The pizza is very NY. Not as sweet as the NY sauce but if you transported their pie to 72nd and Lex it would be eaten without complaint. The waiter service is always good at Potomac--very friendly and efficient. They provide a monster sized soda cup which I love, being a diet coke fiend. And they are quick to refill it. The food comes out promptly. I appreciate that they let you order a slice of pizza--not enough Bethesda pizza places offer slices. I like their subs and have had good luck with their salads too. Home delivery is always worth the wait in comparison to the larger chains. For us it comes from the Chevy Chase location, but I am sure it is similar to Potomac. One thing I will say is that the CC location has made some mistakes on deliveries to us in the past, so check while your driver is still there. They always fix it quickly and have offered/given coupons for free food in the future which has softened the blow. read more

Just under twenty bucks for a large cheese pizza? It better be good. Unfortunately I received a melted pile of cheese on top of an oddly shaped pie. The thick crust was relatively tasty, but the pizza was so thin in the middle that all the cheese and oil made it into a soup. Tough to cut, serve, and enjoy. I actually enjoy their other locations so I'm not sure why this was such a bad experience. Hopefully you all have better luck. read more

Potomac Pizza is a nice little place. For the vegetarian, you have lots of options. Always a nice thing! I highly recommend the veggie grill sub: grilled mushrooms, onions, green peppers, broccoli and eggplant and dressing- can't be beat! The Greek salad has to be one of the best salads I've ever tasted. Yummy veggies and a delicious dressing. Additionally, this place caters to the vegan customer. It features a veggie pizza, veggie subs, and any pizza can be made without cheese. The prices are reasonable too. They also give you a TON of drink with free re-fills. I guess the only reason I'd deduct points is the ambiance. It's nice and clean with bright pictures of food on the wall, but it's also usually packed with kids. The wait staff (probably tired of yelling kids) is usually rather unenthusiastic too. Go when it's quieter and you'll have a nice time. read more

I was stoked about going here--I love a great slice of pizza and I had heard all sorts of things about it from my wife's family. We just got into Potomac for the weekend, and when my MIL suggested that we go here, I was pumped. When I saw they had fat-free pizza, I was absolutely thrilled! Those of you who follow my reviews know that healthiness is not exactly high on my list of things that I am concerned about in my culinary life, but when it's not inconvenient, I do try to eat healthy so that I can splurge later and\or eat a lot! Unfortunately, the fat-free pizza wasn't as great as I had hoped. The crust reminded me of Papa John's crust (which I disliked even before the Papa John's in DC printed those "Cry Baby" shirts making fun of LeBron) and the pizza itself was kinda thin. Fortunately the cheese and sauce were good, although I wish there had been more cheese--if it's fat-free cheese, why not? I was pretty disappointed. However, I was able to have a sample of my MIL's chicken salad sandwich, and that was great! Man...I never thought chicken salad without mayo could be so tasty! I'd definitely eat that again. I grew up on Potomac Pizza, and when I get a craving for cheese fries I always make a trip over to PP. My husband and I went there tonight for pizza and fries, and they did not disappoint!! The fries were still as amazing as when I was younger, and the pizza delicious. Totally worth the drive (now that I live in NoVA). I highly recommend PP!! read more

Used to like this place but most recently, on a busy night, I had to wait two hours in the store even though I had placed an online order several hours ahead and was in the store at the appointed pick up time. The store was filled with angry customers. Management did nothing to make it up to us. The pizza is quite average and they lost my business. read more

The place is nice, service is friendly. It is pricy. This is definately a better dine-in than delivery place because the food is almost always cold by the time it gets home (and I'm only a couple of minutes from there). OK. I have gone back to Potomac Pizza since my old bad experience... and they are better. They open the pizza box when you come to pick up and confirm in front of you that the pizza is fresh. The pizza itself is fine. Definitely better than Domino's. read more

Having grown up in Bethesda, I've thought Potomac Pizza has always had the best pizza in the area.

First time buying a $16 pizza the size of my hand. They said the medium is 6 inches and the large is 12 inches. Really disappointed with this. I expected a normal sized pizza. read more

Many people love this pizza. I can't eat it because it's so greasy. Even my children won't eat it!. That would be fine except the other menu items are mediocre. Service is pleasant, but restaurant decor is boring. If you like greasy, New York style pizza this is your place though! read more

The Pizza is really not that great, and management is horrible. They have no respect for loyal customers, and call tow trucks on people that work in the community. My wife asked me not to write for the sake of the delivery guy but if this business does not soon change direction there won't be any delivery guy. Here is my experience tonight: 1. Ordered from the website which was very user friendly. 2. Called the store twice one hour after the pizza failed to show. They told me it may show up 'any minute now' two times but were clueless of where it went. 3. Almost two hours later a cold and absolutely tasteless pizza arrived. Excellent pizza and subs. Stick with simple. If you want a traditional Margherita pizza, this is the place to go. I like their Hawaiian, too. I've not been overwhelmed by their veggie pizza - I guess if you add too many ingredients, it detracts from the perfection that is their crust. If you want something vegetarian, try their veggie sub. Really wanted to like this place but...We had Groupons to try the place out. Even though in the Groupon discussion, they stated they would honor more than one groupon at a time they refused to do so in the restaurant. Thankfully, Groupon refunded our money for the groupons they refused to honor. We had the white pizza and I had high expectations, it was pretty tasteless. Hubby had a steak and cheese sub and the meat tasted a bit off. We only ate 3 pieces of the pizza, took the rest home and then it got tossed a few days later. Worst pizza and steak and cheese sub I have ever had. Service was so so. It was a Sunday night and not really busy (that should have been a sign) but the staff was more interested in chatting among themselves than waiting on customers. - Lunch and Dinner Review - the first time i came here (this is the only PP i've been to) was with my friend after a round at falls road golf course. he said that this was his favorite pizza place (he grew up in the area). so, of course, i thought it would be a let down. but i was actually impressed with the pizza. pretty darn good (for non deep dish!), slightly pricey, but i guess it is potomac. my first time was on a wkend night, so as someone else said, it was jammed with families of 3, 4, and 5 kids! either way, service was fast and efficient. the two of us finished a large, no probs. now i work near there, so i've had lunch there more than several times (can't we start a chipotle in the darn area?!?!). i'll get a tuna salad (3 huge lumps of not too mayo-ee white tuna), gyro, or slices of pizza. quality is good, service is friendly and fast. they don't even mind splitting the bill 5 ways! i really want to rate it a 3.5 star, due to price, but i'll round up. location: crazy busy corner strip mall. have fun with door dings. ambiance: typical pizza joint, but family friendly service: very good food: good portions and fresh value: ok return?: yes, nearly a default for lunch! better than: Ledo's not as good as: geno's! notes: stay away from the far corner table (from the door), it smells. try the calzone, it looks like the best i've seen! the dough is not too thick. read more

We go here quite often, usually after one of the kid's practices or events. As others have noted, the ambience is clean and bright, but usually kind of noisy and hectic. Lots of families and kids. That does speak for the place though, all the locals I know also eat here. The pizza is consistently good, and the other dishes are as well. the pizza crust is medium thin, very tasty and not soggy. the sauce is slightly sweet but not too sweet. I ordered the Ultimate Potomac Pizza, and the only ultimate thing about it was the quantity of toppings they put on it. It felt like I was eating a sub rather then a pizza. If you've ever had a pizza from Costco this is what their pizza dough taste like, which isn't terrible but not good either. I ended up paying $30 for a medium pizza and wings. The wings tasted like what you would get from Walmart frozen isle section. To summarize, the pizza was expensive, subpar and wings were from Walmart frozen isle. read more

My 2 stars is due to a lady bug I found in a salad I purchased from this Potomac Pizza location this past Sunday. I ordered pasta with meat balls and it came with my choice of side salad. Lucky for me I look at everything before I put it in my mouth because as I was eating my salad I found a lady bug in it nicely waiting for me to devour it. To say the least I was grossed out, and I didn't finish the rest of my food. It was late by the time I got around to eating and out of exhaustion from a work day I didn't call to make a fuss. Heard back from the owner/manager after my post which is nice; shows a level of management concern. However, Adam blaming me for not ordering correctly isn't the answer. I painstakingly described what I wanted and how I wanted it prepared. Your attached copy of my order simply supports my contention that your rigid computer ordering system doesn't allow the order taker to "get it right". As I said before I've tried to order this over a dozen time and you never get it right. Bad system not Bad customer. I'll not return! Maybe the next deli that occupies your vacant space will care more. read more

The pizza crust was soggy. Cheese just slide off and was chewy. Service was as bad as the pizza.

The quality of their pizza's have gone down. Since the past few years, the cheese used on the pizza is too greasy, the toppings are not good quality and the bread is too soggy. The price is expensive for what you get. read more
