I've been going to this location since 2010. I'm rating it a 5 star not only because of the service, but because it feels nice to be greeted and served by familiar faces. The fact that Potomac pizza has kept most of their employees makes this place a great casual, neighborhood restaurant. The staff is super nice, the service is quick and the food is always fresh. They have an extensive menu, always cooked and served to perfection. I would definitely recommend this place for a kids birthday party, quick bite with friends or family pizza night at home. Wow! Potomac Pizza, we love you! We (the Avalon and Brookewood middle school swim teams) came virtually unannounced, just 30 of us, so no big deal! Ha. They handled us with great welcoming and poise. Thanks to the manager Jim for setting aside the small side of the restaurant for us. We had mixed, complicated orders and came in a gaggle. Every item we ordered came out correctly, quickly and deliciously. At every moment we were waited on cheerfully and every question was answered. It was the kind of service you alway hope for but rarely find. Our server, Jose Lopez, slipped between tables like Lionel Messi moves between defenders. We were treated like kings and queens. This restaurant gets 5 stars for service and community. The atmosphere is a casual, family restaurant, that isn't trying to be anything fancy. They host a lot of pizza parties for sports teams, school events, and family groups, and they have it down to a science. You'd think group of 20 kids would phase the staff, but they never keep anyone waiting longer than 15 minutes for their food. Speaking of the food, it's always fresh and generously portioned. While it's a pizza place first and foremost, their salads are popular and made with fresh vegetables, and their sandwiches hit the spot (especially the meatball sub and chicken parm, though I know the steak and cheese is popular). My mom adores the Mexican Pizza with jalapeños. If you're not on a diet, get an order of the cheese fries ;) read more

While its toppings (roasted pepper and broccoli) were delicious, there was hardly any tomato sauce over the dough, which for me makes or breaks the pizza. You can get more than just pizza here(subs, calzones, pasta) , but how can you resist their homemade sauce and non-fat dough? The pizzas I've had are always excellent. I love a pizza with lots of cheese and a chewy crust. It's in the burbs, but they have a new location at Chevy Chase Circle which is a bit closer in. I've had take out from there, and the pizza is just as good. Solid 3.5 stars! Surprisingly decent pizza in Potomac, at least for take out and delivery! We did take out and the restaurant was full of soccer teams...definitely a family friendly place! (And probably horrible for date night) The medium pizzas here are only 12 inches so the definitely smaller than the average medium. A Large cheese pizza is $15.99 and the specialty pizzas can be up to $20.00. We tried cheese and pepperoni pizzas and they were both somewhere between an amazing version of Pizza Hut pizza and a thicker crust version of a slice of NYC pizza. Mediocre pizza.. but my expectations weren't high considering the other reviews I read. Still, I wanted to give them a try and I bought a groupon for a $10 large pizza and I decided to try the white pizza. Bland... bland! Although the general consensus here has been BAD customer service I am happy to report that I didn't experience any of that (I did order carry out though). The staff was friendly (on the phone and in person) and my pizza was prepared quickly. I came here on a Friday evening and they weren't that busy, so I'm sure that had a little to do with it :-) So, will I be back? Probably not... I'll stick w/Pines of Rome in Bethesda... It's really unfortunate because I love my white pizza with spinach ricotta, but the new manager can't get an order right and then is not interested in making it right. I called in an order for 2 large pizzas one with anchovies on the side. I received a large and a small. Called back and Guillermo couldn't seem to comprehend that I ordered large not small and was not interested in correcting it. "Well you only paid for a small." That's not the point. Management greeted and seated me immediately, and I couldn't have asked for a yummier drop-in, casual meal. The place could not have been more accommodating, they sat aside a section and worked with us to figure out the best way to order for a group of 25-30. José Lopez was just fantastic. I grew up on PP and for many years it has been one of the only pizza places that will deliver to my house. That being said-- It is usually something my family orders when we feel like having a night off from cooking. The crust is relatively flimsy, which makes for a soggy pizza and cheese falling off the dough. However, I recently discovered the Spinach & Ricotta pizza, which is DELICIOUS!! In addition to the cheese fries and chicken tenders, it is one of my favorite things to order from here! The greek salad is also bomb! Delivery can take awhile, especially on weekends, but the food is made pretty quickly. So, if you're hungry and able to drive, it is worth it to go pick it up :-) read more

I've been to this place a number of times due to the only pizza place I knew of in the area. I now know of another options which I will be a patron of (Tally Ho). For a place being called a pizza place, they have some of the worst pizza in the area. It is extra greasy for no reason, the lunch special is overpriced and the pizza toppings fall off because it is just cheese pizza with a few pepperoni's that aren't topped correctly. And for the same reason (lack of competition) I don't really blame them for not really caring about their level of customer service. The food is OK, but their waiting staff is plain rude. Example: When Mozzarella sticks were missing marinara side. I asked the waiter if I can get marinara. 20 minutes later, half of the sticks are finished, and no marinara. I asked the waiter again. A recent phone order (carry out) for a veggie burger and salad resulted in a plain (no lettuce, tomato, pickle, catsup; nothing!) on the burger and no plastic knife and fork for the salad. A restaurant should at least ask what you want in your sandwich if nothing is included and/or condiments are optional. On a recent visit to the Falls Road location with a friend, I was told that my tip (20%) was insufficient! Get this: they have a lunch special for $9.99, which includes your choice of sandwich, salad or fries and a medium drink. Both of us got the special. When I left a $4.00 tip the waitress told me that I need to leave more, as the NON-SPECIAL price of all of the individual items would have been $14 each, so I needed to leave a top based on $28, not $20. This continues to blow my mind every time I think about it!! So, in essence, for $1.50, this "restaurant" has lost my business for good. Not recommended! read more

I've been going here since I was a small child and I've always loved the familial atmosphere. The only problem is that it's so incredibly popular with families that no matter when you drop in for a bite, it's guaranteed that small children will be next to you screaming their heads off. The management must have also changed at one point - when they renovated - and the pizza is more Ledo's now; greasy. Still good, though, and a classic joint to have a fun dinner at. Picked up pizza tonight. Pizza was delicious but one of our pizzas was wrong. We ordered a pizza with sausage on half and onions on the whole. But we only got onions on half. Disappointing but not worth trekking back. Be warned that if you plan to do curbside on a Tuesday you will have a very long wait. Our order was expected to be ready between 5:35 and 5:45. We called on arrival at 5:35 but were kept waiting until 5:57. We tried to call to make sure we weren't forgotten but kept getting a busy signal. This has happened on a number of occasions as we frequently order on Tuesdays. We try to order on the early side but it doesn't seem to matter as they're always busy. They seem much busier than Tuesdays in the pre-COVID days. Glad to see people supporting a local business. As for us, we might try picking up on a different night or for lunch instead. read more

Good pie. A little pricey. I live in a DC suburb neighborhood that has no chain pizza delivery available because our Pizza Hut Delivery recently closed (Cabin John). Although we're not far from the local Dominos and even though I wrote to to Dominos about the fact that Pizza Hut closed and nobody delivers here being a great opportunity for them, they have never replied and I only have one local place for pizza delivery... Potomac Pizza. I've never been in the restaurant, so this review is based only on the Pizza and the delivery service. I continue to pay the slightly high price for Potomac Pizza not only because it's the only place that delivers here, but also because the pizza is really good. The toppings are always just right and the crust is great. Delivery is always fast, so I am happy. You will love Potomac Pizza if you can bear the higher than average prices. I'm willing to pay more for a good pizza. If I had the option, I would likely choose these guys over Dominos once in a while, always over Pizza Hut and maybe over Papa John's. Lucky for me, I'm moving to Germantown soon, so I'll have all of these and more--but no more Potomac Pizza--so maybe I'll finally make it to dine in sometime! read more

I love this place! This place was mid way between my commute from work to school when I was getting my MBA part time 5+ years ago. I took evening classes twice a week in Shady Grove and stopped here almost every time I passed by. One of the highlights of my recent move was the proximity to Potomac Pizza. They have great NY style pizza. Thin crust, but not too thin, balanced with just the right amount of sweet tomato sauce, delightful cheese and flavorful toppings. My favorite is the pizza with pepperoni and pineapple. Where 2 Amy's is a culinary delight, Potomac Pizza is comfort food. Always good. Always consistent. A side note on the dining area. It is extremely casual and typically loaded with families, high schoolers and large group. Just like your northeastern neighborhood pizza parlor, this one is a gem! read more
