First time trying Pot Belly. Ordered the Protein salad and I really liked it. Staff were friendly and were hustling.

Potbelly is one of my go-to places for a quick consistent lunch sandwich. This one is located in a lower level of the office building, and feels dark and dingy, not a great experience. Seating is also very limited. I get the place was busy for lunch, but staff was pretty rude and unfriendly that day. The sandwich itself was fine, the usual really. But I've been to much better ones. read more

Before visiting the National Children's Museum across the street, we popped into potbelly for lunch. Staff were helpful and the space is big enough. However, the food didn't taste as good as other Potbelly's, but maybe they were having an off day or we were. There are restrooms and small cups for water. read more

This Potbelly location was great for lunch when I attended a conference in downtown DC. This location is super close to the National Mall, Smithsonian, Washington Monument, and National Press Club. I loved all the patriotic and political decor inside. Even though Potbelly is a chain restaurant, the décor made it feel special and less "corporate". The restaurant was a bit crowded with a long line, but the staff moved quickly. You buss and clean your own table, so I wish patrons had done a better job of that, as not many tables are available to begin with. It was a cold day, but when it's warm, it would be fun to grab a sandwich and have a picnic on the mall. My toasted tuna sandwich was delicious and filling, and I would certainly visit again. read more

Couldn't provide water cups for kids that each bought sandwiches. Staff was apologetic, but this is really lousy management structure in my opinion. I work in a restaurant and I understand the desire to begin closing early to get out on time, but closing your bathrooms off while there's still guests around is outrageous. Sandwich was mediocre, service was borderline rude from the taller gentleman with the tattoo sleeve and the braids. You might be having a bad day but when you work in the service industry it's generally advisable to suck it up and be polite and welcoming to guests. Thanks. read more

We came to visit on Friday August 24, 2018 from 4-5PM and the workers were absolutely rude. They seem to hate their job and where they are working. No welcome, no smile, no sort of interest in what they are doing. Visiting from out of state and this is the absolute worse customer service we have ever received in DC. "Friendly. Hang out, leave happy. Find a smile in every shop." I think the workers need to be reminded of what their "Promise" is. Did not receive friendly service, there was no smile from any worker. So I came into this store to order lunch. I ordered a sandwich, soup, and a milkshake. The young lady was talking on her phone the whole time as I placed the order for the final item, which was the milkshake. I heard her kiss her teeth and blow off, upset about the work she was paid to do. And it was only myself in the store. She was unprofessional and rude. Never again at this store. read more

Came here for lunch while on a business trip. Standard Potbelly. Food was standard. Service was consistent. Only thing worth noting is that it was nearly 100 degrees outside and that there's no air conditioning inside. Not sure how that's possible in DC. read more

I guess this is a chain sandwich place in DC. I ordered an Italian sub and it was good! It was spicy and packed tightly in he sandwich. Came with all the produce. I believe it was about a 6 inch sub and cost like $5-6. Vey affordable and fast. I think I might just be over potbelly in general. I hadn't been to this particular location in years since there is one much closer to my job. It wasn't packed at all yet when I came in yet the line moved very slow. When I got to the register to pay for my sandwich, the cashier was chatting it up with other employees. Maybe this might explain the slow service. I was just trying to pay and leave. I wasn't even offered a bag or receipt! So why are these sandwiches now over $6? I find that to pricey for the size (you can get a subway sub of the day, footlong for $6...just saying). And when I finally got back to my office to enjoy my lunch, I didn't at all. The bread was toasted way too long and wasn't enjoyable for me. I will not be in a hurry to return to Potbelly (at least not for sandwiches...I like their shakes). read more

Customer service is lacking, staff was sitting around on the counters when we walked in and not friendly. We placed a relatively large catering order to take on a bus tour, with which we were supposed to receive a cookie per person and we did not receive them. By the time we realized we were far away and they were closed. Upon contacting the store the next day the manager was defensive and insistent we got the cookies and didn't see them and not much of a solution or apology was offered. Also, we did not receive any utensils for spreading condiments on the sandwiches. Overall the food was fine, but everything else about the experience was unfortunate. read more

My friends and I wanted to grab some food near the White House area and were looking for the Five Guys nearby (did not find it), so we decided to go to Potbelly's instead. I've had Potbelly's once before, and it's pretty much a 'high-class' Subway. Nice decor- much nicer than Subway's. I ended up getting the Tuna Salad sandwich, with everything on it. I was hoping that the Hot Peppers would help to give the tuna flavor an extra kick. Sadly, when I started eating, the first half of the sandwich was a bland. I think that the guy forgot to put in the Hot Peppers completely and it definitely left me wanting. Thankfully, I found the pickles and onions in the second half of the sandwich, which gave me a little more flavor but regardless- I don't like the uneven distribution of ingredients. I will say that they were a bit busy (only 2 people manning the counter, and 1 was slowly making a shake) so maybe if I give this place another go another time, I will have a better experience. Also, as of 10/14 (Sunday), the fountain machine was broken, so I had to go for the bottled sodas. I saw that someone mentioned it as a bonus so I figured I'd include this. There IS wheelchair access; just inside the door is a lift to avoid the steps. Food is prepared well. They are understaffed therefore there is always a line. Note to Manager: Put the musician closer to the exit so that folks will remember to tip! read more

I've been to Potbelly a few times my first time to this location. They have awesome hot sandwiches so I thought I would try a salad this time. I got the Mediterranean which has chicken, artichoke hearts, chick peas, spinach, red peppers etc. I tried it with the basaltic dressing. Pretty fabulous. They also have Izzy sparkling blackberry which is one of my favorites. My only concern was the guy taking my order didn't pay attention that I wanted it as it came so the lady who was to make it just stood there and waited until I asked what was going on. I love potbelly's...and I love this branch the most. the staff are always friendly, the place is always packed and if they see me freezing outside, they let me in even if they're not quite open yet. I love me the wreck. The wreck is AMAZING. I get it with everything on it except pickles, onions, and their hot peppers (a girl has to get back to work after lunch) and the combo is to die for. Their chicken salad is also really good. I don't really like their chicken salad salad, because they just kind of give you a scoop of their chicken salad over some lettuce but I love their uptown salad. the potbelly vinaigrette is creamy and a good choice to go with it. They have soups that change daily throughout the week and a chili that stays on their menu. usually I get super stuffed on 12 bucks. read more
