Had a blast at a Pottery Class at Pot Garden for Stephanie's Birthday !! Reminded me of my highschool ceramics class that I loved !! Arts and crafts can be sooo therapeutic and fun! I will definitely be coming back!

I literally CAN NOT believe people have left 1 star reviews for POT LA. This space is beautifully curated in vibes and culture -- one of its kind. It's the only POC pottery space in LA & how could you hate on that?! I brought a team of 20+ for a private event and the communication from Vanny and admin team were punctual and thorough. The team loved the class and none of our mugs shattered + pickup was easily coordinated. I loved the class so much that I'm currently in a handbuilding series and convincing more friends to join. Mandy, don't listen to the haters!!! You are changing the ceramics culture in LA. Thank you for all you and your team do.

A friend signed us up for the Takata Pot class, and we had such a great time! Our instructor, Salima, was fantastic. she guided us every step of the way, making it an enjoyable experience. You can BYOB to the class, which made it even more fun. Last year I had made a mug and since it was a private event I got to not only bring drinks but also 420 friendly. Our group was smaller this time, but they have plenty of space for larger groups as well. It was a great opportunity to get creative and design our pieces however we wanted. You leave your masterpiece there to dry and can return to pick it up on a different day. They also offer other classes and events. We'll definitely be back!

Love this studio!! Yes, it is a pottery studio - wheel throwing and hand building and more kinds of workshops I believe. My friends and I came here for a intro to wheel throwing class and enjoyed every moment of it!! Our instructor was so helpful and demonstrated how to center our pieces on the wheel. Check out their site and sign up for a class!! Street parking

I've always wanted to try pottery, and I'm so glad my first experience was at POT. The wheel class I took was amazing with a great instructor. It felt like there was plenty of time to both learn and create. Working the clay is definitely a skill that takes practice, but I can't wait to return for more. I highly recommend giving a class at POT as a fun experience gift.

What an experience! I see why people love wheel throwing. When you're really present in the moment, its relaxing and grounding. I came this past Sunday for the drop in beginner wheel throwing class with a friend and had such a great time! Angel was our instructor and he was sooo patient and easy going. And the best part is... its BYOB!

I've taken two classes at Pot Gardens so far - the Mug & Wheel Spinning classes. Two different instructors and they were both excellent at instruction and very patient. I will definitely be taking more classes here and consider private events as well. This spot is a vibe!

I have been creating pottery since January and it has quickly become one of my favorite hobbies. This was my first time at POT Gardens and it was an amazing experience. Christina was our instructor and I participated in the one time class creating a pour over for coffee! I have never hand built before but felt like a professional after this session! They give you everything you need to make your piece special, and it's so organized and clean in the studio. I am so looking forward to doing another class! POT gardens is a diverse, inclusive space and that makes it all the more special.

This is my favorite place in Los Angeles! I am so happy I found it! I was looking for a ceramic studio to be able to work on ceramic pieces and have access to a kiln (where ceramic gets fired). I took a class with my sister in January, and it was with Ebony and it was a hand building class. It was a four week long class (met once a week for 2 hours) and Ebony was incredibly patient and kind with me, despite all my never ending questions. She showed us different ways of hand building and we got to work on several projects, which made it so fun. It was also wonderful to be in a POC ceramic studio, with reasonably priced classes and membership. I'm Mexican American and felt like I was in community, which is not something I feel at predominantly white studios. I loved the class so much and my pieces, and found what I felt was an oasis in the concrete jungle of LA. I became a member the following month and go about 3-4 times a week for hours at a time and have met such truly wonderful, inspiring, caring people here (both members and staff). Truly so honored to be a part of the community.

my boyfriend had mentioned pottery to me so I looked up Pot Gardens . Last night as a birthday present I took him to the planter making class taught by Syd. Syd was an amazing instructor , they came up to everyone to check progress and answer any questions. It was a good size class so everyone felt included. The class allowed me to see my boyfriends inner child truly come out. He is already asking for us to go take another class. I cannot wait for our planters to arrive! I would recommend this to anyone for a date night or even just a solo session to learn a new hobby .

While the shop is small, they stock all of the essential art supplies (brands like STABILO, POSCA, and DecoColor) so customers can be more intentional with what they want to buy. The store requires ID checks for paint marker purchases. In addition, the shop also carries a large selection of Asian art materials for calligraphy (e.g., square paper, calligraphy brushes, calligraphy books, ink stones, black sumi ink, brush hangers, etc). Apparently students from USC who take calligraphy courses come here to purchase their supplies. Overall this is a decent shop for anyone looking to restock art supplies or buy calligraphy materials. P.S. - There is metered street parking in front of the store, but there are also few free designated parking spots behind the shop. However, I am deeply concerned by how she is treated by store leadership and the lack of support she receives. Specifically, Jovana appears to be scheduled almost exclusively for closing shift without adequate coverage, operating with insufficient staffing at night while the earlier hours have substantially higher staffing level. I understand she was informed her schedule would balance out once a new manager was hired, yet she remains the only manager assigned to close out of five managers at this location. Additionally, it is concerning to see a lack of support from leadership when dealing with team dynamics, which impacts the overall store environment. Jovana is a huge asset to your company, and I want to ensure she is treated fairly and given the resources needed to succeed. I hope management will take proactive steps to improve the scheduling balance and working condition at this location. I do not require a follow-up phone call, but I do hope to see positive changes made for the staff.

It offers art classes for all ages, though I suspect most of its students are kids. My six-year-old Leo B. has become something of a regular, and he absolutely loves the place. For my part, I appreciate that there's always a camp available when I need it, sometimes even at the last minute. Popular classes sell out (if you want an anime/Pokémon/Hello Kitty kind of week, get on it), but most don't seem to reach capacity. There are camps for pretty much every school break, including one-day camps for various holidays. Parking is easy, as are drop-off and pick-up. Leo did one day camp last year, then two weeks of summer camp last month. He's a fairly shy kid, and was only willing to sign up because he had friends from school who would be with him. I was pleasantly surprised when he requested to come back for a second week this summer, knowing he wouldn't have any friends in that class. Artist Lab has different themes for each week, and he went for under the sea and pop art. There were different teachers rotating in and out, and to be honest, I never really talked to any of them, though they all seemed quite nice. I dealt with all the administrative stuff through text and email and enjoyed getting photo updates in the text thread. Leo had fun every day, and came home with all kinds of artwork that we're now stuck with until all parties are willing to get rid of them. He made sculptures and paintings and even sewed a little fish. I also liked that he got to learn a little about pop art after a somewhat difficult visit to the Tate Modern earlier in the month. I'm sure we'll be back to Artist Lab next summer, and possibly earlier. Leo will ask for it, and before long, his brother will want in on the action.
