Then, a few years ago, I discovered Flax Pen to Paper, and over several visits, I purchased fountain pens, notebooks, and inks from them. Every time I visited, I could genuinely feel how much they care about pens and paper. Their professionalism always made shopping there a pleasure. The staff are consistently kind, knowledgeable, and thoughtful, creating an environment where customers can take their time and truly enjoy pens and stationery. Thanks to them, I've had many genuinely happy experiences. One of the fountain pens I purchased, however, developed an issue with the nib. Because I live quite far away, I wasn't able to return right away. After quite some time had passed, I decided to visit again--honestly, with very modest expectations. That day, I was helped by the staff and Jeremy. Even though a significant amount of time had passed since my purchase, they warmly and generously offered an excellent solution. The experience was incredibly kind and heartfelt--completely different from anything I've encountered at other pen shops in the U.S. I felt both grateful and a little sorry for their generosity, and I couldn't bring myself to leave without purchasing a few notebooks and inks. So I bought some notebooks and inks. It was a very warm-hearted experience. Flax Pen to Paper is truly a wonderful place. I sincerely appreciate that they exist and continue to run this business with such care and integrity. The forecast says it's going to rain tomorrow, but I'll still be stopping by to buy my planner for next year--and I know I'll be coming back again and again. Flax Pen to Paper-- thank you so much for being here. I truly mean it. If you're looking for notebooks, pens, or stationery, look no further. This is the place you should go. Based on my years of experience, I can't recommend them highly enough. I truly love Flax Pen to Paper.

Whether it's stationary or pens and everything related to it, you can pretty much find it here. The staff is also really polite. Parking in this area isn't too bad, you can find metered street parking if you go during the right time of day. I would say that pricing is fair and I would recommend to anyone searching for a good stationary option.

We checked out Tutufun in Century City and tried their cake candle making -- best decision ever! Matt guided us step by step, from building the base to decorating the "cake," and even helped with mixing and cooling the wax so everything was super easy and fun. They also offer other DIY activities like tufting, decorating art, and pouring art. The cutest cake candle ever -- and it even came with a box to take home. IG: socalhkfoodies

However, the pricing structure is poorly communicated. The board clearly lists "Phone Holder - $20" under Decoden Art, with no size descriptions or visual distinctions. Based on that, we reasonably assumed the bunny phone stand we selected fell under that category -- because it is, in fact, a phone holder. Even the staff member assisting us was under the same impression. We spent several hours decorating our items based on the $20 price we were told. Only after we finished were we informed that our item was actually $45, and that the $20 "phone holder" supposedly refers to a much smaller grip-style piece. That distinction is not explained anywhere on the pricing board. There is also a "Phone Holder with Key Chain" listed, yet our item did not match that description either, which makes the pricing even more confusing. While the staff were understanding about the confusion, the manager refused to honor the price that was communicated to us and stated that our only options were to pay $45 or leave the item behind. There was no attempt to meet us halfway or acknowledge that the signage itself is unclear. If you're going to advertise pricing, it needs to be clearly defined. This situation could have been avoided entirely with proper labeling and better management handling.
