It was as close to psychedelic as you can imagine. They did offer 3D disposable glasses but I don't think it worked as it should have. Regardless, it was psychedelic as it could possibly be. Be sure you follow the hours posted on their ad because they do NOT open outside of the posted times I got wind of this exhibit from Yelper James L (LA) and since I had a trip around the time of the exhibit's showings and my travel partner was game for "whatever" Cre8 and the Encantada became part of our itinerary. No regrets about attending as I've learned of Cre8 and what they are all about.

CRE8 is a space that showcases art installations. Depending on the display, if May look like an…read moreunderground gallery, or something entirely different. For example, Currently, the art installation is Encantada, a 5D immersive experience which will run through 12/23/22. It's not fair for me to describe in details what's inside because this needs to be seen, heard and experienced in person, but I'll give you a few 'sneak peeks'. You're given 3D glasses at the door. As you make the first turn around the wall, it becomes visible how your senses be attacked. There are a lot of bright colors, sounds + music and thugs that just seem to float. The installation isn't very big. There a winding hallway leading to a larger room. There's a small room attached where you can tag the walls, contribute your own art work or leave a note. There's an upstairs lounge area that's equally 'trippy'. How long it takes you to go through it depends on how open minded you are. You can blow through it in 10 minutes, or spend almost an hour in there having fun with the endless art that seem to levitate. I can only imagine a little bit of mind altering vices may help intensify the experience. My only complaints are I hoped for the immersive experience to be bigger, and the paper 3D glasses they hand out are very cheap as they keep falling off. Other than that, we had fun in there. Her bright bubbly personality shines through Shot of Art making her a valuable asset to the team and business. We were then greeted by Ethan who was our instructor he too was amazing and very knowledgeable. Ethan is so easy going and did not fret when I changed my mind a few times on choosing colors to mix and match I guess that's the Libra in me lol sorry Ethan! He also walked us along the process from start to finish and made sure we were happy with our piece of art before leaving. Thank you for your hospitality Ethan and for your care. Paula and Ethan are amazing at what they do and I just wanted to highlight the two of them.

To add to this, we needed to be buzzed in so we could enter the premise. Once we were inside, the ambiance changed completely and there were a couple of IG worthy spots to take pictures while checking in. We opted for the spinning art experience since my daughter is too young to partake in the more elaborate ones. Originally, we booked for 4 people but one person got sick so we asked if we could transfer the funds for that person for another experience since there are no refunds. Luckily, was able to contact them the day before and added the bunny paint pour over experience. Ozzie was our guide and he was super kind and gentle with my daughter. We were instructed to pick 5 colors and then we donned our plastic bootie covers, apron and gloves. We entered our designated art room and was blown away by all the colors on the wall. There was even a tire swing which my daughter was all about. The spinning art experience was a lot of fun and I enjoyed seeing my daughter embrace the paint. I think her favorite part was when she had free rein to paint all over the walls. Overall, we had a great time. Only down side is that it does go by super quick and is quite an expensive experience for one hour. However, we get to have a treasured memento which is ready for pick up about 5 days afterwards and we did have a great time. That being said, #noragrats!

The entire class consisted of step-by-step instructions on how to size, carve and etch a design on a wax mold. Once complete, you attach your name and contact info on a card so that it can be shipped to you once it has been cast into a brass (or silver) ring. You really learn what goes into designing a piece of jewelry- would definitely take this class again. Will have to remember to post a photo of the finished piece after I receive it!

I really loved everyone in the class, and the studio was great and let us use the studio outside of class as well. I met a ton of the members during the weekends and everyone was chill and laid back, and soooo talented! Lots of great dogs in this studio as well. I have given away a lot of my pieces as gifts (I made 16 pieces in my 6 weeks!) and everyone has loved them. It's a great heartfelt gift for anyone. I would have continued with the classes but I missed out on the next level classes, and then I moved jobs so I wasn't working in downtown as much. The staff here are super friendly, also patiently demonstrating the techniques. There is a parking lot to their rear entrance, very limited spots though, and you likely end up with street parking like I did for my few visits here. Overall, I'd certainly recommend this place to friends.

Watching my admittedly slightly-off-center ball of clay spin on the wheel as I shaped it into a not-bad-for-a-first-time bowl was both mesmerizing & meditative. The stations were laid out in such a manner that there was no possibility other than to have 1 of the 5 pairs of folks that showed up for the fully-booked 10-person class to be split (not sitting next to each other).

It shot the other woodshop class out of the god-forsaken waters! The instructors (Todd, Briana, and Cam) were incredibly kind, patient, knowledgeable, generous, welcoming, fun, and funny as hell. Their communication skills were stellar. They offered us complimentary snacks and drinks during the breaks, and even gave us a measuring tape souvenir to take home. The studio is equipped with a wide variety of impressive woodworking tools, which the instructors clearly showed us how to safely and effectively operate. Overall, I highly recommend this place for a excellent introduction to woodwork!
