A delightful experience! I visited Charmed LA during a special group event making leather-bound journals. The were a good variety of color options. Part of the process included hammering in grommets, which was very fun. Once the journal was complete, we got to select one charm to add as a finishing touch. The charm options were really great. I would love to be back again to make a a key chain charm!

Super cute concept and space with the friendliest staff. I came with a friend to make matching bag charms, and we were helped right away. One of the staff members walked us through how everything worked and helped us pick out chains, which made the whole process feel really easy and welcoming. There were so many adorable charms to choose from--it honestly took us about 15-20 minutes just to narrow it down to six. I low-key envy whoever gets to source all these tiny, fun charms because it looks like such a good time. The shop was pretty packed when we arrived, but the turnover was quick, and it never felt chaotic. We had so much fun chatting and crafting together--truly peak girlhood energy. At the end, the staff was incredibly kind and helped us adjust our chain lengths multiple times, even though they were close to closing. This is such a great activity for friends, groups, mother-daughter dates, or anyone looking for a fun, creative outing. My total came out to around $67, which is more than I usually spend on crafts, but for a special experience like this, it felt worth it. Would absolutely recommend!

Had an okay experience, but probably wouldn't recommend it or come back. The staff was nice when we were waiting and the wait wasn't too bad, but after you sit down you're pretty much entirely on your own. The staff was pretty standoffish, answered questions with one word, and never checked on us. They mainly stayed at the front and seemed bothered any time someone was confused. There were a lot of people inside the shop, but it wasn't busy or chaotic. In fact it was super quiet, my friend and I felt awkward speaking above a whisper. It would have made the atmosphere really relaxing if it weren't for the weird vibes from the staff. It made it feel more like we were in class rather than a fun little crafty space. On top of that, I was super disappointed with the size of the journal. It claims to fit A5, but the notebooks they measure with are nearly half an inch smaller than a true A5, so the wrap doesn't fit my Hobonichi A5 (which was the thing I wanted the journal cover for in the first place). There was an okay selection of charms and a really small selection of leather. Honestly, at the price point I think it's not much cheaper than just buying all the supplies and leather and making it yourself. And then at least you'd have all the supplies to make more if you wanted to. I didn't think it was worth the price and the vibe was so off I wish we would have just left. The journal I left with was fine, but it feels like a waste because it doesn't even work for what I needed it for in the first place!

Such a cute experience! I went with my little to make some charm bracelets and we are very happy with our experience. The girl working there is so sweet in explaining which chains are gold-filled or stainless steel which is nice since you don't want to have a green tint after touching water. They have a wide selection of charms ranging from cute cherries to initials for your name. Charms range from $5 to $8 but there are some that are on sale for about $3. You can choose your chain to either be a bracelet, keychain , necklace , or even a bag charm! There is also an option for staff to assemble the pieces as well. There's metered parking in the front but it can be hard to find parking. Love the cute pink interior and the vibe of the place! Will definitely come back with my friends next time!

Me and my boyfriend went here to celebrate valentines early and to surprise me with journal making. But honestly the whole experience was ehh alright. They ran out of most A6 covers except the cow print so we opted for A5. The staff weren't really helpful with explaining thoroughly nor did they say anything when we came into the store. My bf had to ask an employee for info. And even then she just handed us the supplies and we were left alone to figure it out ourselves. I feel like for the price and quality, you could honestly go to Michael's or a Hobby Lobby and make it yourself at home with a YouTube tutorial.

My friend and I had the best time! Sitting down and starting can be a little frustrating in the beginning. However, it became very therapeutic and relaxing for both of us. This was a good outlet, and it allowed me to express myself creatively. I always wanted to make my own jewelry, too. Do not expect to just come in and be done right away. We were there for two hours. I recommend that you not rush through the process and take your time, whether it's picking out the charms or assembling them. There were tons of charms to choose from, but Charmed LA did not have everything. At least, they did not have all the ones I wanted. For example, they did not have dinosaur charms. Tip: Take your time and look around the displays. There were no more silver folding-fan charms, and the staff was really nice to take one from one of their displays. It made my day! The staff were super chill, nice, and helpful. Staff would come by to check on you and see if you needed any help. They can give advice. There are no stupid questions. I did not feel any judgment whatsoever. After you are done assembling, staff can do a final inspection to make sure nothing is loose. The prices for the charms ranged from $3 to $8, so it is going to add up. Just have fun with it without worrying. I was thrilled with the way my charm bracelet came out. I was able to bring a few of my own charms to the store, and the staff were completely fine with that. I added them to my bracelet, and there was no extra cost or hidden fees. Tip: I found free parking on North Crescent Heights Blvd. It was a 10-minute walk to Charmed LA.

First time here and had an INCREDIBLE experience! They have such a wide selection of charms to choose from. It was tedious finding exactly the right combination of charms I wanted as well as assembling them, but it was worth it! A very sweet associate named Kate was there. She was immensely helpful and gave great suggestions! I asked if they had a 444 charm I needed and she was more than willing to accommodate to try to find it. Everyone working was so sweet, so I definitely recommend paying a visit!

How cute they have a California charm!

I've been obsessed with making personalized charm chains for my lip balms lately so when I found out a place like Charmed LA exists, I couldn't wait to visit. They open at 11am seven days a week so I arrived around 5 minutes after they opened their doors on a Saturday hoping to avoid any potential crowds. And of course, they had some kind of girl group outing going on plus a few other customers. This little shop filled up quickly! The reason for this four star rating is because with that many people, the charms area was crowded and difficult to navigate. You want to take your time and choose the perfect charms that will represent you or the theme you're going for. But at the same time, you have to possibly be all up on other people's personal space a vice versa. My suggestion is to split your charm categories to spread out and utilize both sides of the wall. The girls working there are genuinely friendly and would give you a hand if you need some extra help with securing your charms together. Charms are $5 each and chains will vary depending on what you want to make (necklace, bracelet, keychain, bag chain etc). Street parking and metered parking spots only.

This is a cute place to do a different kind of activity with friends. There are several chains to choose from that are gold or silver colored, and the style of chains vary from dainty to thick. You can get your desired length since they cut the chains here for you. You can also choose from making a bag charm, bracelet or necklace. I opted to make a bracelet The workers here are helpful but not super hands on. They checked on me and my friend once to see if we needed help, so that was nice of them. It can get a little tricky to put the charms on your chain, especially if you have nails The cost here can add up quickly since the charms cost $3 and up each. I made a bracelet and used four charms, and my total came out to about $30-$35 Since this is on Melrose, it's street parking

Natalie V.

I think I may have found a new hobby! This spot is so cutesy and fun to experience. It is the perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion with gal pals or to simply enjoy doing something crafty. I attended for a Valentines Day collab with Gimme Beauty and I'm so glad I went. The staff was so nice and helpful! I felt very welcomed and taken care of in the space. If you love crafty things then this will be very therapeutic. I will definitely be back. The selection of charms to choose from is incredible. The charms range from Disney characters, food, drinks, letters, makeup, western, cards, zodiacs, and so much more. I did notice they seem to have a bigger gold selection of charms vs silver. The quality of the keychain I made felt very good as well. Parking: metered street parking and it's LA so be prepared to hunt for a spot

Charms to personalize.

Do you journal or want to start? This is a great hands on experience. I was a walk in and didn't know what to expect. The staff played close to attention to and found me comfortable chair. You get to choose from a selection of journal covers, grommets and strings. They offer a wide selection of charms at different price points. I walked out rocking my A5 and added my current journal to it. I will be going back for an A4.

Joanna P.

This place is so cute & fun! The place can fit quite an amount of people. They were so helpful explaining the process. It was simple to assemble. Great experience!

Courtney F.

Came with some friends and loved the whole experience. So many charms to choose from and setup was a large communal table style so it was easy to chat with others and see their work too. Probably not a thing you'll do more than a few times but very sweet overall

Do you carry any gold filled necklace or sterling silver necklace? because I am allergic to fake kind material.

Hi Jenny! Thank you for your question! We do carry gold plated chains with a stainless steel or brass base. We also offer a section of stainless steel chains in gold and silver with are generally considered hypoallergenic. Hope this helps!

Filming is welcome (a plus for capturing memories!), and parking is free right out front. Just note: the lot is pretty small, so I recommend arriving early to snag a spot. Our instructor was super informative and made sure to spend time with everyone in the class, walking us through every step of the process. It was hands-on and beginner-friendly, which made it all the more enjoyable. The only downside is the wait bc our finished bowls took about 6-8 weeks to be ready after shaping them on the wheel. But honestly, it was worth it--they turned out beautifully :')

However, the pricing structure is poorly communicated. The board clearly lists "Phone Holder - $20" under Decoden Art, with no size descriptions or visual distinctions. Based on that, we reasonably assumed the bunny phone stand we selected fell under that category -- because it is, in fact, a phone holder. Even the staff member assisting us was under the same impression. We spent several hours decorating our items based on the $20 price we were told. Only after we finished were we informed that our item was actually $45, and that the $20 "phone holder" supposedly refers to a much smaller grip-style piece. That distinction is not explained anywhere on the pricing board. There is also a "Phone Holder with Key Chain" listed, yet our item did not match that description either, which makes the pricing even more confusing. While the staff were understanding about the confusion, the manager refused to honor the price that was communicated to us and stated that our only options were to pay $45 or leave the item behind. There was no attempt to meet us halfway or acknowledge that the signage itself is unclear. If you're going to advertise pricing, it needs to be clearly defined. This situation could have been avoided entirely with proper labeling and better management handling.
