I love coming here to get ribbon. The large selection to look at always has me inside the store for at least an hour! Not only is there ribbon but there's also some balloons, favor containers/bags, glitter and so so much more. Parking here is good since there's a small parking lot, but be sure to come early since it tends to get more crowded during the day on the weekend. read more

Peng's craft, formerly United crafts, has always been my go to when downtown for ribbons and other craft supplies. The store has changed in terms of set up over the years but the pricing still makes it all worthwhile. They do have their own lot and street parking but please note that it is near skid row so the street entrance is a bit of sight as there maybe encampments in front or around. This place is located in a sketchy part of LA, so if you're not used to seeing homeless people and lots of tents, then maybe don't come here and go to your local Joann's or Michael's. Now that we have gotten that out of the way, I just want to say that I LOVE this place. I came for ribbon for crafting and they have a huge selection here! They have many sizes and many colors to choose from. The prices are also very good as well! I bought 4 rolls of ribbons, all 100 yards each, and they were about $3 a roll. I don't know where you can find a better deal than that. Also, they have a parking garage next door!!! Win-win. First of all, I'm a bargain hunter, but even I was a *bit* weary because: 1) photos with the tents at their front door and 2) the the thought of finding parking. Well, my hunt for a good bargain was met rewarded! First of all: THEY HAVE PUT OF FENCING, SO NO MORE TENTS RIGHT BY THE FRONT DOOR. And #2: THEY HAVE A SMALL PARKING LOT! I love a good deal and when you can get a spool of 100 yds 3/8" ribbon for $5 I am there! It's not the best location but you can't beat the savings you're going to get! Definitely still a wider variety at Moskatels. I also found that the lady behind the counter wasn't interested in helping me very much. We parked at Moskatels and walked here (a couple of block) and the walk is a little sketch. I felt much safer on Wall Street. More foot traffic and less tents and people sleeping on the sidewalk. In the end, we found everything we needed at Moskatels. Lesson learned. read more

Agreed with Lynette T's review. I think it's awesome that they have their own parking lot since most places in these area, you really have to pay for parking. This is probably the cheapest and biggest selection on ribbons you'll find from grosgrain to satin. I went to this place all the time when I lived in LA. You'll find jewelry findings, flat back rhinestones, sequins patches, fabric flowers, any and every party favor decoration type thing you can find. The prices are great too, I just wish their online selection was just as cohesive since I live in NY now. :-( read more

OMG-- I drove all the way there (40 minutes) just to find tent city and skid row right outside the doors. No parking anywhere...just tons of homeless people and the mentally ill camped outside the door. Literally drove around for 30 minutes trying to find a safe place to park. Went to buy ribbon for our small business and it was well worth the trip. Cheap prices and I found what we needed. They also have a bunch of other items like a variety of organza bags and little decoration trinkets for baby showers and parties. The woman at the cashier was really nice and helped me with the resale certificate form so we wouldn't have to pay tax. This place is my go-to for ribbon. I make ribbon leis and they offer every color in every size I need! The only ribbon I haven't been able to find here is the 7/8" picot ribbon (which isn't too commonly needed, except for ribbon leis). My only problem is that it closes at 5pm so I either have to go on my lunch break or leave work a little early to get here before it closes. Two years ago I would've gave this store 5 stars, today barely 2 stars. Been coming here about 10years now. Their grosgrain ribbon selection is large but the quality has declined tremendously. They switched suppliers with the new owners, prices went up a tad but still a good value. There is a lot more staff then before but they aren't as informed about their products as the previous 3 were. They now have a lot more items then just ribbon. They haven't updated their new time schedule on their website either. read more
