Wow! We were blown away by Madeline who was so attentive and amazing! We came in for some after dinner drinks and she went above and beyond to give us the best experience ever! Her smile and great service did not stop there. We told her what a breath of fresh air she was as we had just experienced terrible service at dinner. We were blown away after Hayden brought us a complimentary dessert to help make our evening better. In 51 one years, I have NEVER experienced this level of customer service, care, and first class service. Wow, wow, wow! When my friend talked about having lunch today in downtown Gilbert, she mentioned Postino's but said to not get my hopes up because they're always busy and the line/wait time is ridiculous. Today must have been our lucky day because we were seated within ten minutes. The wait to be seated inside was 20 minutes and outside was 10. We initially agreed to be seated outside to cut the waiting time but a table had freed up inside and we didn't have to brave the heat. I was starting to like this place already! For some reason, I suppose because of the name, I was under the impression this was an Italian restaurant and had my heart set on pasta. It is not a Italian joint but in fact a wine cafe! I was famished so I decided to order a number of things. I ordered a mimosa, Peligrino, the sweet potato wedges, the Tuscan tuna and a chocolate bouchon (ganache dessert). Cafe portions are always hit or miss and man, did Postino's deliver! My portions were huge, I'm actually typing this with my left overs next to me. Everything I ordered was fresh and delicious. I especially enjoyed the touch of Dijon mustard with my tuna panini. The touch of Dijon and ciabatta bread definitely brings a sophisticated level of class to a tuna sandwich. My friend offered me some of her artichoke bruschetta and it was absolutely splendid! A pleasant surprise for my taste buds! I would have never thought to pair artichoke with bread. She also ordered the chicken and mozzarella panini but returned it because she's big on texture and wasn't keen on the cheese not being melted all the way. The waitress was kind and understanding and suggested she order the melted grilled cheese instead. The melted grilled cheese is listed under the Snacky Things ( appetizers) of the menu but her portions were a good size. ( My potato wedges were also an appetizer and it's safe to say the appetizers here are shareable ). She was little upset that the cheese wasn't melted all the way but she added chicken to it and the big portions of chicken saved the sandwich. She's also not usually a fan of tomato soup but she really enjoyed the tomato soup that came with her grilled cheese. I myself am coming off a Vegas/alcohol binge so I stayed cleared of the wine as much as possible , which is a shame because the wine is really why people come to Postino's . She ordered a Riesling and a red blend both of which she adored. The red blend has a unique fresh taste that I've never tasted before, it's really strong , both of us tried to finish her glass and we couldn't. I even tried to dilute it with my Peligrino. That red blend really knocked us out because we took the longest nap afterwards. If you appreciate strong wine paired with delicious food, this is definitely the spot for you. The restaurant itself has a nice groove to it, it's edgy enough to appeal to twenty year olds but sophisticated enough to cater to older folks who appreciate the finer things in life. And as if this restaurant couldn't get any more better, my friend received a thank you for choosing Postino's text on the drive back, how cute is that ?! I now understand all the fuss and understand why people wait in the long ridiculous lines to get in. read more

I am a huge fan of Postinos in general- and this place is no exception! I love how each of the locations have their own personality and spice to them. This particular location has a lovely indoor/outdoor feel and I enjoy how the design allows for so much natural light. I met up with a friend here on a Thursday for happy hour and it was booming! I was lucky enough to squeeze into two bar seats and was helped immediately by bartender-Austin. SIDE NOTE: If you aren't aware they have an AWESOME happy hour- $5 wine- uh' yes please! I ordered " La Linda" Chardonnay and it was perfect for the hot AZ day. My friend and I ordered the bread board which is such a fun thing to do! You can choose a variety of flavor combinations and it is a great appetizer to share. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them so I say go for what your heart desires! More bunch than breakfast There was so much to eat. I had my very first Peach Bellini here and it was yummy. I had the Raspberry chicken which was an excellent salad with large amount of chicken apples, almonds, pecans. I thought it was a large portion, but somehow I managed to eat it all up. The Wait staff is very organized, and I noticed that they help each other. They are very friendly and offer great suggestions. Doug had the Farm Scramble which he also loved. The coffee was perfect. Nothing worse then bitter or cold coffee. The whole time we were here this restaurant was crowed what I love about this placed is that there is a very large open door with couch seating inside/outside where you can come in the evening and just drink wine, have appetizers people watch, and relax. Would we come back? We did 5/23/21 Came back again. Today I had the Salmon Cappadocia and my husband had the morning remix. OMG I do love this placed. Again another perfect breakfast. read more

We have always loved coming to Postinos in Gilbert but today was different. Salads were half the size, meat on the sandwiches barely existed, tomatoes were cut so thin you barely knew they were on the sandwich. I understand they are trying to recoup money from COVID but give us the salad and charge me more ... don't limit the food and call it even. We will not be coming back anytime soon ... time to find a new Friday lunch place. read more

We shared several things as a table, including: -- Crispy Cauliflower (almost caramelized on the outside, very good) -- Meatballs and Goat Cheese (so good!! The tomato sauce on it was really good, not too sweet) -- Brie, Apple, and Fig Spread Bruschetta (serving was much bigger than anticipated and included a good side salad) -- Sweet n' spicy pepper jam and goat cheese Bruschetta (also very good) 3) Fun location in the Heritage District of Gilbert 4) Nice patio with plenty of space for social distancing Cons: 1) Parking can be a little bit challenging on the weekends 2) The food was wonderful, but felt overpriced for how much we received 3) For being a wine bar, I thought of the 5 wines we tasted, they were all just ok. Our usual server, Matt, is always nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. We had an absolutely wonderful experience dining at the Gilbert location. Not only was the food out of this world and deliciously perfect, but the service was impeccable too. The restaurant is run meticulously. The staff have some sort of code system and they move purposefully and efficiently to care for the guests in such a seemingly effortless way and even though they were slammed, not one staff member appeared stressed or rushed which created such a warm ambiance that made the experience that much better. The staff all appeared to be pleasantly enjoying the work. Just an amazing example of a really well run restaurant and a healthy team culture. I am super impressed. Good job! read more

Bring on the bread and wine!! We've visited this location several times, and we have ZERO complaints. Our most recent visit was during their lunch rush. No matter how crowded the restaurant is, they are on top of their service game. We never had to ask for refills. Every server was kind and super friendly. Best part, the food! They have something for everyone; bruchetta, sandwiches, salads, and sharable entrees like meatballs. Who doesn't love saucy meaty balls!? WOW. My wife and I are not wine drinkers, but diced to stop in and try out the boards and a glass of wine. We split a sandwich is was ok and the kitchen split it for us. The big winner was the board and that's the way to go. Every option on board was excellent and we wished we had ordered 2 instead of the sandwich. The wine recommended was nice and flavorful. Again, not wine drinkers but a crisp white wine (we had two separate ones) paired with the board was perfect. Not a fan of lack of parking in the area, but we will be coming back after our first visit! read more

I went to culinary school. Day one: The Tuscan tuna panini on focaccia. 3 Stars I expected a panini with melted cheese, some pickles and a fresh tuna mayo medley on a reasonably crunchy bread. What i got was unmelted cheese, a very generous serving of pickles which overpowered the sandwich, barely crunchy bread and a room temperature mayo mix. However, while i would not reorder this sandwich, i would be interested in their other dishes judging by what was coming out of the kitchen. The romaine in the side salad was fresh, crispy and not wet. Day 2: The Mixed Green Salad with Chicken 5 Stars Thoroughly enjoyed the salad. The vinaigrette didn't drip and was balanced, the candied nuts were sweet but had been cut to small enough pieces, pears were soft with a hint of crunch, and the chicken was juicy and seasoned beautifully. My one comment for the salad would be to specify that the crispy leeks are shavings and not actual pieces of leek. read more
