My friends enjoy coming here. Not only for the good food but a place to just enjoy the scenery. It's located in the heart of downtown Gilbert. Postinos has this charm about it. I realized after ordering some bruschetta and a cheese board to share which I love to share. We had to order the famous cauliflower appetizer. All of it was so good. I had a fun evening hanging here for happy hour. This Postino location in Gilbert was actually the first one I ever visited over ten years ago. Postino WineCafe is known for their large variety of wines and bruschetta boards. I started off with a cup of Red Peppercorn Soup and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. My bruschetta choices for the night were Brie, Apple & Fig, Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato & Basil, Burrata, Bacon, Arugula & Tomato and Salami & Pesto. I hung at the bar after a long day and ended up making a friend. We took advantage of the $6 happy hour glasses of wine and ended up hanging at the bar for a good few hours. Postino has locations in a number of states now. They've really grown since opening their first location on 40th Street and Campbell over 20 years ago. I love how majority of their locations are in old rustic buildings that have been restored. This location has a nice shaded outdoor patio and has great views of the downtown Gilbert area. Postino gained popularity with their Mon/Tues bottle and board nights. They recently just started up their Wine Cult subscription where you get a select bottle of wines quarterly and special discounts if you sign up. We came for a weekday lunch today and sat outside. It was okay in the shade on the lawn but the umbrella didn't block all the sun. I love Postinos! This was my first visit to their location. It was a beautiful evening to sit on the patio. We had a large group (30) on a busy Friday night. They had a beautiful buffet set up for us. Service was excellent. I enjoyed a wonderful Pinot noir which paired perfectly with the salads, bruschetta, and skewers of chicken and beef. Service at the location is hit and miss. The food is pretty consistent and enjoy the selection of drinks. We were here on Monday evening and the weather was perfect to enjoy the patio. Our server was training another person which is great, but her attention to detail was missing. My husband sat for a long time with a empty glass and long term between our food orders. The reason for the lack of service was her friend/boyfriend was sitting at the bar and she kept going over to talk and even sit on his lap. Bad news first is at the end of our dining experience, the service was rather slow. I asked for a to go box and it took a long time after we closed our check for me to box up my panini. However, the food was delicious and very instagram worthy it did taste fresh and the plating was stunning! I do wish the floor plan was bigger, however, it wasn't as crowded in there and it was nice! Sorry, Postino, but you did me dirty yesterday. I know it was Mother's Day, but that's no excuse for not having my takeout ready at 5:15 PM when I submitted the order at 3 PM. I showed up and waited for an hour. Yes, one whole hour, while your hostess kept telling me it would be 15-20 minutes. I get it -- it was busy, and you guys got behind. I just recently moved to downtown Gilbert and am so happy this Postino is right around the corner from my condo! It's the perfect place to have a glass or four of wine after the work week and unwind with some good eats. I had their Malbec, which was arguably one of the best Malbec's I have ever had. For a Tuesday night it was surprisingly full, we had a reservation for 6:30 pm and were sat right on time. The service of everyone we interacted with was great. Our server was friendly and did a great job explaining the menu and making suggestions. We ended up splitting a few dishes- the burrata appetizer, octopus picatta piccante, scallop spaghetti, and roasted airline chicken breast with risotto. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The cocktails were also well balanced and very enjoyable. All in all, glad we ventured out to that area of Mesa to enjoy a lovely dinner!

Postino's yelp !!Avoid this Restaurant!!! Poor Management and very rude and unprofessional employees 3months of planning a birthday party with the manager Lindsey and our area that I reserved ,plus had a catering contract for, was given away to another party when I arrived to set up for the event. No apologies. My guest were standing in the entry way watching the manager Lindsey rudely lie to me ,and both the hostess try to just put a couple of tables together in a corner... and call it a day. I told them this was unacceptable. I had reserved a special area ( which a picture was emailed to me where my event would take place )that was agree upon and booked. I have emails, text messages, voicemails confirming this. Plus a Vm from Bailey ( hostess)telling me that night of the event ,if it rained we would move you inside to the couch lounge area. That spot was also given away. The hostess were also very rude to me and my guest, as we were standing waiting and watching them continuously lie about the reserved area. Like my event didn't even matter. I told them would you like me to read to you all our corespondents In the end no apologies still , not even offering a drink to my husband and I for waiting 35 min past the time I had booked my party for that night. They Just kept make excuses, lying ,and saying just wait we're working on it. Now me being an event planner for 7years all it takes is a reserved sign on the area. Simple ...and have everything done 15 min-30 minutes before the event. Follow the contract. None of this happened. They tried to make extra money hoping I'd be late for the party, not show , or just understand why they gave another group of 15-20 people my reserved area. POOR Management!! I was so upset and told the manager Lindsey , Bailey the hostess and the other manager on duty we are taking our business somewhere else because of what they did, how my guest and I were being treated ,and how unprofessional and rude they were. My husbands birthday party was ruined and 15 guest watched the whole issue take place. As I'm walking out ...the manager Lindsey, the other manager on duty (don't remember her name) , Bailey the hostess ,and the other hostess ... started to cheer, talk bad about us, and give high 5's because we were leaving!! Pure disgust!!!! My husband the birthday guy saw all this ,plus 8of my guest. I've never in my life seen such disrespect, and unprofessionalism towards a group of people that had just had their party ruined ,because of them. I will NEVER plus all my friends and family step foot in this place EVER again or anything they own . Just remember Postino's... word spreads fast. 15 guest saw how you run your business.
