But today I left the store completely unhappy. Today is Monday, May 1 at 1:15 PM. I did not catch the name of the young man that assisting me. He was rude and discourteous. There were no customers in the store. I did not have the Amazon information handy. I had three items to return. The WIFi was slow and it took time to retrieve the Q codes of the first two items. But, I could not find in the Amazon email the third Qcode. I apologize a few times for not been ready and offered to wait. But instead he was dismissive and spoke rudely to me. I left with my third item since he seem bothered by me. I guess his family did teach him any manners.

Come to find out, the store owner can charge ANY price they want at a UPS franchise. So, my gut was right! We talked through the issue the best we could over the phone, he triaged the situation given the info available and said he could have someone out within a few hours. Sasha, the tech. who arrived on time, did an excellent job thoroughly assessing the damage, showed me the results, and explained what he recommends going forward, while also speaking to insurance process/dynamics so I could make an informed decision. Sasha put down floor drying pads, dehumidifier, and fans, and got me up and running. Came back and checked on equipment for the next 3 days with no issue. Also 2 days into this situation my wife went into labor and Rick and team were very understanding and made sure regardless of how long equipment was set up that we paid a fair price for which services were needed. Can not say enough good things about Rick and his team, they were professional, thorough, empathetic, and honest. Their work saved me thousands of dollars in flooring and other sheetrock repairs. I've always had particularly good luck when asking FedEx to pack extremely fragile servers and…read morenetwork equipment. This was no exception and even on a weekday the place was extremely busy (1pm) due to its close proximity to a mall. There were at least 5 people ahead of me and all counters were opened. They have a hand cart in case you need to wheel some heavy items over. I had several pieces of equipment to ship and each one was nicely packaged for a 3 day FedEx Express Saver delivery. Usually when doing self-packing in the old days, I would have stuff come back with missing rack ears or slightly dinged up edges. In this case I paid for the extra filler, double wall boxes and everything arrived in good condition. Props to them for packing things so well and making sure it didn't exceed any weight limits. It's always tough finding specialty boxes that fit server equipment. Nobody asked for my ID (though many years ago I did get asked but that was for a retail purchase and not with an account #). I gave them our corporate FedEx account number and all they did was confirm my name. Not sure what happened with others but the manager on duty was the one that helped me. She knew exactly which items to ring up for the specialty boxes. Chalk it up to good luck perhaps because the items arrived a day early, exceeding expectations hence my 5 star rating for FedEx.
