OMG I have to do a new review because they moved to a new FABULOUS, space age office. They used to be on Melrose, which is getting sorta dangerous, and now they are a few blocks away on North Fairfax. Beautiful decor, spacious soothing rooms, not to mention the great staff, who are all so helpful and efficient. What can I say about Ryan Stybel? Dude, you rock. Cute, cute, cute, handsome enough to be a movie star, but down to earth, always smiling, and....... the best optometrist in L.A. A friend of mine used to work for an optometrist and she and I used to praise him to the skies. Ryan is better!!! The first time I got glasses here, I said to myself, "I have never seen this well in my life." He has an interesting, eclectic offering of glass frames, from the VERY pricey, down to Raybans. He also fits contact lenses. We all know that prices have gone up in recent years, and this place is no exception. So be prepared to pay top dollar. But also be prepared to get the best eye care you have ever had. If $$$ is an issue, call the office first and ask about their pricing. As near as I can tell, a pair of high end frames and lenses comes to somewhere around $1000. If you have insurance, they will probably pay most of it. Just remember, you get what you pay for. And a bad optometrist can really distort your vision. With Ryan Stybel, you will have the best vision of your life.

I just left this store absolutely furious with the way they treat their customers. Angela, the store manager, was unbelievably nasty and confrontational. Instead of addressing the problem, she raised her voice, argued, and even mocked me, telling me to "stop playing lawyer" simply because I was pointing out undeniable facts she couldn't refute. We spent nearly $1000 on a pair of glasses that bend out of shape every couple of months and every time we've brought them in their only answer has been, "There's nothing we can do." Not once did they offer a replacement frame or any real solution. Compare that to Moscot, where we've also purchased several pairs of frames, the staff is professional, respectful and always accommodating. The difference is night and day. This store should be ashamed of how they conduct business. The quality of their product is abysmal and their treatment of paying customers is even worse. For what we paid these glasses are the worst frames we've ever made. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. They sell low quality eyewear, hide behind excuses and treat customers with complete disrespect.

HORRIFIED by the service here. Came to pick up my daughter's glasses today which were supposed to be pink. Immediately when they removed it from the box I was confused as they were dark purple and I had promised my daughter new glasses in her favorite color. They went to discuss the mistake privately for a while and came back and told me they were "willing" to switch them out for the correct frames. I had already taken the risk of cracking her lenses by swapping them into new frames and it is visible that the lenses took quite a bit of damage being swapped along with whatever previous damage they had. These lenses were $300. The frames were roughly $350. After further inspection I notice the brand new purple frames are damaged in several places. Both Angela and the doctor confirm the glasses are damaged. At this point I'm fairly upset as I don't want to have my daughter wait another week or two for a new pair, nor do I want to risk breaking her lenses in the process and having to wait another 2-4 weeks. I ask them to just give me the damaged incorrect frames and credit me the correct frames when and if my daughter will inevitably need new frames. They accuse me of wanting free frames.... Angela comes out to speak with me saying mistakes happen and it's the supplier's fault and they won't eat the cost and she is not willing to eat the cost for the damaged incorrect frames. I don't want to waste any more time so I said "That's fine I will exchange these back for the correct frames. However, if the lenses break during this exchange I want them replaced as this was not my mistake." She then accuses me of wanting free lenses... Why would I pay for new lenses if they are currently in tact and crack due to being re-swapped which was admittedly your mistake? She stands firm the lenses will not be replaced if they crack so either take the current incorrect frames as is or take the risk of my lenses breaking with the correct frames which I paid for. My husband then speaks with Angela asking why they were not taking accountability for the damaged frames. Angela again blames the supplier and then gets enraged takes my glasses and says she is going to pop out my daughter's lenses and give them back to me and refund me for the frames and storms off to do exactly that without my consent to the glasses that I PAID FOR. She comes out after another long wait and I ask her where my lenses are and she gives me some roundabout excuse knowing she has no right to do what she said she was going to do and tells me she no longer has the original frames the lenses came in when I first brought them in so I will need to take these glasses home in the meantime and when my old frames are sent back to her by the supplier she will pop out my daughters lenses and refund me. This is the most bizarre unprofessional experience I've ever had. What a complete waste of time due to complete incompetence and lack of accountability. Now I have to drive back at some point to have her pop out my daughter's lenses (at the risk of breaking them) and refund me???

I was given a large amount of paperwork to fill out by hand, with no option to complete forms electronically or in advance. While I was still filling everything out, the staff kept rushing me through the process without explaining what was happening or answering questions. I was asked whether I needed a retinal exam, which I declined, as I had recently had one done at my previous ophthalmologist before moving to the area. Despite this, after seeing the doctor, I was told to proceed with the retinal test anyway without being informed that it would be an out-of-pocket charge. At no point did anyone confirm the cost with me. I was later charged around $85-$95, which was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. What made it worse was that after the test, no one reviewed the results with me. There was no explanation, no discussion of findings just a charge and being sent on my way. Paying for a medical test without any review or communication is unacceptable. Communication regarding my glasses was just as poor. No one ever called me with updates on the status of my glasses. After waiting, I had to call the office myself. I was told they would "follow up with the vendor," and over a week later, I finally received a call back only to be informed that they had just placed the order again. This confirmed that the delay was due to internal issues, not the manufacturer as initially implied. When I finally came in to pick up my glasses, the staff was again rude and dismissive. I was asked "who are you?" in a blunt manner, even after stating my name, and the interaction felt cold and disrespectful. Overall, this office lacks professionalism, transparency, and basic patient care. Between the rushed staff, unexpected charges, lack of consent, zero follow-up, and rude interactions, I will never return and strongly suggest others look elsewhere.

Dr. Silani started treating me for dry eye on May 20, 2025 with Opti-Plus & Opti-Light. I had…read moreupper/lower blephoplasty on May 15, 2024 and experienced dry eye that worsened over time. I was using eye ointments at night for almost 4 months & about 20-30 drops of lubricant tears daily. My dependence on eye drops was not immediate after the treatments, but diminished use after about 3 weeks and by 6 weeks post-treatment I was down to 5-7 drops per day! This is a huge improvement;) today - July 10 is my 2nd treatment with both light/plus & im looking forward to even more reduced need for drops! Highly recommend this modality as it's non-invasive and easy!
