I originally stopped in on a Saturday simply to pick up contact lenses for my boss. Oddly enough, my dog had scratched my eye that same morning, and while I was there I asked if there was any chance someone could take a look at it, even though I had never been a patient before. Without hesitation, they welcomed me in and took such incredible care of me. I truly cannot describe the level of warmth and hospitality in this office. From the moment I checked in with Pam and Delia, I felt so welcomed. Robert checked on me while I waited, asked thoughtful questions, and even asked about my beloved dog, the culprit behind my scratched eye, which immediately made the experience feel so personal. Then there was Veronica, who triaged me and somehow made that part of the visit genuinely FUN. I apologize to anyone in the lobby if my laughter was echoing out of the treatment room! She was an absolute joy. And finally, Dr. Bradley Richlin was exceptional. He was incredibly thorough, immediately put me at ease, and somehow answered questions before I even had the chance to ask them. I felt completely confident and comfortable in his care. There was never a moment where I felt rushed or like an inconvenience for having walked in unexpectedly. What could have been a stressful Saturday with an injured eye turned into such an unexpectedly pleasurable experience. The kindness, professionalism, humor, and genuine hospitality of every single person I encountered were remarkable. I literally walked out thinking, "When can I come back?" Who says that after an eye doctor appointment?! Richlin Optometry has a new patient for life. Five glowing stars simply aren't enough.

Boris has that rare talent where he can hand you a pair of frames and somehow also hand you back a little piece of yourself you didn't know you'd lost. He doesn't just say, "These look good on you"--he says it like he's unveiling your true final form. The man is part fashion consultant, part vision whisperer, part therapist. I went in half-blind, half-hopeless, and fully expecting to spend too much money. I left seeing 20/20 and laughing so hard my mascara ran (which, by the way, Boris politely pretended not to notice). Considering glasses are right on your face, I want to make sure I love the design of my frames. Immediately upon entering, I was greeted by Boris. He was finishing with another client, and was able to ask if I was looking for anything within the next minute. I described the size & style of what I was looking for, and in less than 5 minutes we had 3 great pairs for me to try on. I was pretty sure I had found my choice within the first round of frames. But just to be sure, Boris took the time to have me try on another 4 frames which were all great suggestions. If money was unlimited I would've left with 3 pairs. Once I was settled on my choice, we sat down to clarify the lens details. Boris wasn't pushy at all, was informative, and completely transparent with the pricing breakdown. Making the process very easy. I came here because of the frame selection. It was a pleasant surprise to have somebody as passionate about their job, as Boris - as his energy was something rare. He clearly listens to his clients carefully & makes honest suggestions with intent. I left happy with my purchase, confident, and excited. I'll update once my glasses arrive!

My prescription has not changed in 20 years. Recently, I was recovering from pink eye while all three of my children--including my infant son--were home sick. I had thrown out my last pair of contacts because of the infection, but Dr. Yang would not authorize even a one-time refill without an in-person exam, even after I emailed explaining the situation. I wasn't asking for unlimited refills. I just needed one more pair while my children and I recovered fully. I need lenses to function normally and the denial significantly impacted me. Given that my prescription has been stable for years and my current lenses work well, I found the refusal to offer even a short-term solution unnecessarily rigid. I was also surprised that someone so recently recovering from pink eye would be expected to come into an optometrist's office. Thankfully, I discovered that Walgreens offers an online vision test now!!! I was able to renew my prescription remotely and order new contacts instantly. This is such a huge relief! I'm sharing this so that anyone else who finds themselves in a bind knows there is another way to access the medical supplies they need. (I previously lived in the EU, where you can purchase contact lenses over the counter, so requiring an office visit for someone with a long-stable prescription seems excessive to me, and this was something Dr. Kummer was really reasonable about.)

We had a very disappointing experience with a LINDBERG product issue and the warranty service at…read moreCentury City Optometry. In short, within only about five months of our original purchase, two LINDBERG frames each developed a crack after approximately two months of normal use, and after the second failure, we were not offered a repair, replacement, or refund for the cracked replacement frame. We purchased a LINDBERG frame with premium lenses here about five months ago. After approximately two months of normal use, we noticed a crack developing on the inner/lens side of the frame. We brought the glasses back to the store, and the frame was replaced under warranty. Unfortunately, after approximately another two months of normal use, we noticed a very similar crack developing on the replacement frame, in essentially the same location on the inner/lens side. The glasses had not been involved in an accident or exposed to unusual heat, and we did not use alcohol wipes on them. We returned to the store and explained what had happened. Given that two separate frames had developed similar cracks in essentially the same location within such a short period, we hoped the repeated issue would be investigated and that a reasonable resolution would be offered. However, we were told that the frame would not be replaced again because it had already been replaced once under warranty. The only solution offered to us was to purchase another new frame ourselves, while the store would cover the cost of new lenses. What makes this experience especially frustrating is that no solution was offered for the cracked replacement frame itself - no repair, no replacement, and no refund. The only option presented to us requires us to pay for another frame, even though our original purchase was made only about five months ago. They did not give any reason of the cracking or offer anything else, except asking us to buy a new frame. What we do know is that two separate LINDBERG frames supplied through Century City Optometry developed very similar cracks in essentially the same location after roughly two months of normal use each. For an expensive LINDBERG frame with premium lenses, this is not the product reliability or after-sales experience we expected.
