We knew this was a pretty well-known local spot, so we had to give it a try. We ordered the Chicago-style hot dog and the Italian sausage combo, and surprisingly they also had cake shakes, so we got the strawberry lemon cake shake as well. The Italian sausage combo was fire, especially the sausage itself, which was juicy, well seasoned, and packed with flavor. The Chicago hot dog was also surprisingly good. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about a hot dog with no ketchup, but lowkey, I really liked it. The cake shake was another surprise. Drinking what basically tastes like a slice of cake was definitely an interesting experience, but somehow it worked and was actually really enjoyable. Service was quick, and the whole place had that classic casual local vibe. Overall, we liked it a lot and can definitely see why this place is so popular.

Italian Beef Sandwich

4 stars for Portillo's overall. This is a nice location in Rolling Meadows next to a big Walmart. Portillo's is just your average Chicago area chain restaurant with Italian Beef's/Burgers/Hot Dogs/etc. I had the Italian Beef Sandwich juicy with hot peppers, it was good but certainly not as good as a mom and pop Italian beef restaurant. If you need something quick and easy and somewhat Chicago style, stop by Portillo's. Also, download their app - you can earn free food/discounts.

Italian Beef & Sausage Combo w/ sweet peppers

Classic Portillo's, good food, atmosphere. Had the Beef/Sausage Combo, thought the sausage was a little dry, first time for one of those. Should maybe have gotten some beef gravy added. Beef flavor great as always but a little dry too. Had fries and onion rings too. I really like their crinkle fries. Service was prompt.

Chocolate cake

Desserts amazing but chocolate cake slice definitely smaller than in my past experience. Burger was charred too much for me . Cheese fries were good

Ordered a large and this is what was in the bag..

This is how they're selling large fries these days.. yall need to do better charging people out the ass and then giving half an order.

Love the neon signage walking into the restaurant.

Nothing hits like a real Chicago dog from a Chicago legend. The hot Italian beef with sweet & hot peppers was also . We loved the vintage diner decor as well. Of course there's a choice of kiosk ordering or the counter with a real human, so that's up to you. Great experience while in town!

that's a plain HOT DOG and CHEESE FRIES in the carrrrrr

There's not a ton of foods I miss from Chicago...but Portillo's is one of them. And it's not even about the Italian beef or the mayo Chocolate Cake we all like to talk about. Not even the cheese fries or the aforementioned chocolate cake shoved & grinded into a creamy shake. Not even the unreplicable chopped salad. I mean, I love all those things. But what I crave here are their good freaking hot dogs. On my last trip home, my friend and I got hot dogs, cheese fries and ate like monsters in the car together. It was grand. At this location, as with all locations, there will be a line. The wait at Portillo's is similar to the wait I do now at In N Out in LA. You drive up, might pull down the block even to wait, but you wait for the drive thru until the staff takes your order. The staff is so friendly and the line moves pretty fast! Now back to the hot dog, nothing beats the Vienna Beef hot dogs they have at Portillo's. I could pretend I was a good Chicagoan for you and that I get my hot dog with mustard, relish, celery salt, freshly chopped onions, sliced red ripe tomatoes, kosher pickle and sport peppers. However that is horrifying to me and I get my hot dog completely plain, just dog on slightly steamed poppy seed bun. It's so freaking good and why can I not find it in LA?! Curses! However, because I cannot, I will continue to patronize Portillo's when I roll back through town.

Location looks quite different than the average Portillos has a 1950-60 era to it. Food is typical Portillos place is clean and I never ordered from a kiosk at Portillos so that was interesting to do .

While I have been visiting Portillo's all over Illinois and Indiana for at least the last 18 years, this was my first visit to the Portillo's location in rolling Meadows. This place is a flashback in time and literally looks like a 1950s diner and it's absolutely incredible to see the decor and how well-maintained. The place happens to be. It is absolutely nostalgic. Of course this is Portillo's and so they have the standard menu, especially since the sale of the company. However, the quality is still there the speed and the great customer service. This is worth the visit.

Single cheeseburger

I don't know what happened here but today was the day I don't give them another dollar. Burger meat was burnt but so cold the cheese didn't melt. I had to microwave it when I got back to work and just tasteless. I did the drive thru

Nice signage

Everything was great here. Service was great, food was delicious and ambience is casual and very nice. I enjoy visiting the different establishments because each one is unique and different. This is my second best favorite location and I have been to many. I can't wait until Katy, Texas gets theirs up and running but they need one on I-10 going towards the Eastside of Houston, preferably in the NorthShore and Woodforest area. I will definitely come back to this one when I'm in town. My only complaint is that they don't put enough hot peppers on it even though they charge you for them. Today I enjoyed the big beef and fries.

The Leo and Hot Dog

Tried the new "the Leo" sandwich. They rebranded their Italian Beef. Its the same thing. Also had to get a Chicago dog.

Stopped here immediately after landing at O'Hare and on my way to my destination. Easy to find, right off I-90. Italian beef sandwich with cheese - tasty bite but the bread was a little soggy. Good flavor! Fries were salty so I'd likely order with no salt in the future. Crisp and goes perfectly with the sandwich. Chocolate Cake Shake - winner, winner! I enjoyed this the best - good chocolate flavor, bits of cake in every sip! There are a bunch of Portillos in the area so check one out, even if you only stop for the shake!

Do not use their app to order or they will make you drive thru and wait, so it will not be ready when promised.

Small and locally owned, Chef Grill is a great addition to the Elk Grove village area. It's located…read morein an industrial part of EGV which concerns me somewhat, but I really hope this place continues to thrive. Service was very slow. My group wasn't checked in on unless we stared down at the staff. The food did make up for the slow service though. I went with the staffs recommendation and tried the Adana kebab. I can completely understand why this dish is a customer favorite. It was juicy and very flavorful. Pricing is on the higher side when compared to the portion, however, the quality is there.

The aroma alone makes The Chef Grill the champion of Turkish and Mediterranean grilled cuisine. If…read moreI could bottle it, I'd put a little dabby on my neck every night before bed, and then dream I'm prancing through kebab fields in a tutu. This is a happening place. They decorated it with hanging plants, some art, a fish tank. A slight haze of smoke. Desserts on display. I'd say the finest work of art here are the prepped skewers, waiting to be thrown on their charcoal grill. My gaze was fixed on the meat display as if I was Cookie Monster at Crumbl. I composed myself and took a seat. They have great hot and cold appetizers. They have breakfast! Check out their menu, I've included a pic. Lahmacun is a crunchy brick oven flatbread with ground meat. It feels so light, airy, and crunchy, you could eat the whole thing and later say "..um, I ate the whole thing". We ordered a few King Chef's mixed grill platters. It is a medley of filet morsels, chicken, lamb chops, shawarma, shish kebab, and many other things, along with bulgar and fries. Why are their fries so good? Okay, so I know we're just talking about lemonade, but their house made lemonade is so good. We also loved their tea. We went way overboard on desserts. We just kept pointing at sharable items like John Travolta to the Bee Gees. All of the desserts were delicious. For some reason, the simplest of them, rice pudding, won the dessert battle that day. They have plenty of intriguing items that will lure me back, and I'm looking forward to it!

Honestly, I expected something completely different--more of a quick, casual spot where people stop by for a fast bite. Instead, this place is the complete opposite! It's stylish, cute, and feels like a little hidden flower in the middle of the desert. We were a group of four, and I ordered the Seoul Flame Beef Bowl. It was absolutely delicious! Everyone else ordered something different, and they were all very happy with their meals as well. For desserts they said they were little dry, but in general- tasty! The service was excellent too! Everything was quick, smooth, and easy. We had a great experience and I would definitely recommend this place!

Everyone loves a great restaurant success story…read more Someone takes a risk, opens a place, brings a point of view to the kitchen, and creates something people can't get anywhere else. MOQA is not currently that story. MOQA is what happens when a perfectly attractive café looks at the most generic corners of American brunch culture and says, "Yes, but what if we made this slightly more confusing?" The place itself is excellent-looking. Clean, modern, bright, polished. The room has energy, the clientele is stylish, and there is absolutely no shortage of people who appear to have made considerably better wardrobe decisions than I did that morning. Then the food arrives and the whole operation drives directly into a ditch. The breakfast sausage is basically a hot dog. I need to repeat that because my brain rejected it the first time. A hot dog. At breakfast. Sitting next to eggs like it has legitimate credentials. This is not innovation. This is witness protection for processed meat. Then there are the waffles, which seem to have emerged from an extended research program into how many ways one can misunderstand a waffle. A waffle is not complicated. Crisp exterior. Soft interior. Butter. Syrup. Civilization solved this problem a long time ago. MOQA has apparently appealed the ruling. The waffles are texturally confused, structurally uncertain, and generally give the impression that they are still deciding whether they want to remain waffles. And that is the larger issue with the menu: it has no clear point of view. MOQA feels like a restaurant with access to a far more interesting culinary identity that has instead decided to chase the same vague upscale-brunch aesthetic already multiplying across the suburbs like luxury apartment buildings. That is the real tragedy here. I don't need another place trying to reinvent eggs, waffles, and sausage for people carrying laptops and stainless-steel water bottles. Give me something distinctive. Give me breakfast with history. Give me strong flavors, unfamiliar dishes, interesting breads, meats, teas, sauces, spices--anything that makes me think, "I could not have gotten this at thirty other brunch places." Give me a reason for MOQA to exist beyond nice furniture. Because the frustrating part is that the foundation is already there. The space is attractive. The service is pleasant. The atmosphere works. People clearly want to be there. The kitchen simply needs to stop treating American brunch conventions like sacred scripture. 0 stars for the food. 1 stars for the potential. And one sincere request from a man who never wants to see another breakfast hot dog: Please develop an identity, fix the waffles, and make something memorable.

The outdoor patio overlooking the golf course is absolutely beautiful--relaxing, scenic, and the kind of place that makes you feel like you're on vacation. Even on a busy Thursday evening, the atmosphere was lively without ever feeling hectic. Our server, Jordyn, was outstanding. She looked young, but don't let that fool you--she was completely on top of everything. We were a party of six that couldn't decide what we wanted, laughed way too loudly, and probably tested her patience more than once. She handled us with grace, humor, and a smile the entire time. Somewhere along the way we started calling her "Wednesday" from The Addams Family, and she rolled with it perfectly. Great sense of humor and fantastic service. The food was excellent. The Crispy Eggplant Salad was absolutely phenomenal--fresh, flavorful, and easily large enough to share between two people. The burger was cooked perfectly, the cocktails were outstanding, and everything arrived promptly. The bar staff also deserve a shout-out. They were welcoming from the moment we arrived, made great eye contact, acknowledged everyone immediately, and had drinks in our hands in no time.
