SWEET & SPICY CHICKEN
Lauren N.

Food: We got the sweet and spicy chicken with yum yum sauce and other condiments. I had the tofu with teriyaki sauce, it tasted clean and fresh, kind of like an Asian Chipotle. They also gave complimentary miso soup, but it was a bit bland. 9/10. Service: The staff was friendly. I noticed a few pieces of tofu left, but they chose to serve me a fresh batch instead. 10/10. Ambiance: The place was clean, including the bathroom. Great spot for a quick and satisfying lunch.

Cute spot and cuter cuisine. Food is delightful, service is quick, and the app makes it even better with the deals and offers that come thru. I've been to 3 locations in 2 weeks, and they're pulling me in with more deals. Seriously, it's a good Korean version of Chipotle with better quality ingredients and just freakin' addictive. Note that this is coming from a Korean that doesn't love 85% of Korean food.

BiBiBop is a decent, quick service Asian style restaurant- I would say this is most comparable to a Chipotle. You can create your own salads or bowls here - choosing from sweet and spicy chicken, Korean beef, tofu and more. There are a ton of toppings available and sauces so you're sure to create an entree that you'll enjoy. I wish the meats tasted more hot/fresh, but like I said it is similar to chipotle so don't expect sit down restaurant quality, but if you want something quick, Asian and kind of healthy - BIBiBop may be the restaurant you're looking for.

My husband and I ordered here for pick up the other day because we were recommended to come by my coworker. We were not disappointed, and I can see why everyone loves this place so much! It's kinda like Chipotle or a poke bowl place with healthy options, including unprocessed meats and fresh veggies. The whole idea is that you choose a base for your bowl, add toppings, pick a protein, and top it off with a sauce. The nice thing is that they have many choices to customize the bowl, as well. If you don't want to create your own bowl, they have "chef curated" bowls. We both ended up ordering our own created bowls, and I can't remember what my husband ordered, but I'll walk through my bowl. Ultimately, we both thoroughly enjoyed our food! I ordered an original sized bowl (they have smaller ones, too) with white rice and lettuce as my base, black beans, broccoli, corn, carrots, cheese, and cucumber as my toppings, spicy chicken as my protein, and spicy Sriracha as my sauce. Everything worked so well together. Obviously, if I picked toppings, I disliked my bowl would have tasted bad, but everything I got was extremely fresh and delicious. We ended up ordering online and picking it up because if you sign up for texts and order online, your first order can be buy 1 bowl get 1 free. Therefore, we got 2 spicy chicken bowls for $10.99 total, well with tax added, haha! Overall, we will be back here for sure, especially since we live so conveniently close to this location!

This was my first time trying Bibibop and I was glad they expanded their locations. Plenty of parking. It's not far from the Woodfield Mall. Prices were very reasonable because you do get a ton of food for your meal plus the free miso soup. When you walk in, it's like an Asian version of Chipotle/Subway/Poke Bros where you choose your ingredients in front of you. You choose the base, protein, toppings, and sauces. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. Service was friendly and fast.

Great healthy alternative in the land of fast food. Really enjoyed a healthy meal while traveling.

Excellent Korean & Asian food option. The setup is similar to Chipotle except it's with Asian Food. You pick your choice of Protein (Chicken, Steak, Tofu, Korean BBQ Beef, Spicy Chicken. Carb choices include rice and noodles. Veggie options are plentiful (Broccoli, Bean Sprouts, etc). There are also various sauces and other toppings such as egg, cheese, etc. The Korean Beef with noodles and white Rice was our favorite. They offer complimentary Miso Soup. The entire menu is Gluten Free. Vegan & Vegetarian options are also available. Thank you

Very fresh. I am not sure I chose the right sauce but I wanted to stick to a traditional Korean bibimbop and the gochujang sauce was not my favorite. I did like the teriyaki sauce. Overall they have a great variety of toppings, proteins, and bases like purple rice or chap chae noodles.

We stopped by here for lunch after ikea because we wanted something quick so we can run more errands after. The line was long when we first walked in, but it moves you quickly anyways. The original size is a pretty good portion after all the toppings and such, but I normally eat it twice. I usually get the sweet potato noodles, but I wanted a change so I went for the purple rice. I wasn't a fan of the rice. It felt a little too mushy/soft for me, but it wasn't terrible. I had gotten the steak and they give you a pretty generous amount of steak in there. The toppings looked fresh and they also give you generous amount of that too. The kimchi was a little too sour for me, but mixed with everything it wasn't that bad. I usually ask for the sauce on the side because I like to add the sauce as I go. Their lemonades and teas and so good too! The hibiscus lemonade is my fave! As for the space, it seems small but there's plenty of tables inside and outside to eat. It's pretty clean too.

Spicy chicken bowl with assorted toppings, topped with teriyaki sauce and yum yum sauce.

I showed her the ad, where it specifically states the Schaumburg location is participating, and gave her the offer code, which is valid for the entire month of August. She continued to object and made a big production of making a phone call to find out if they'd let her honor the advertisement. She couldn't reach whoever she was calling, and told us in an annoyed tone that she'd honor it THIS TIME, indicating that we shouldn't bother returning to take advantage of the deal the store is advertising. The whole experience was very off-putting and I think customers and corporate need to be aware that locations may not be honoring the promos that are being blasted out in sponsored ads. My friend and I each drove 30 minutes for lunch and chose our restaurant solely based on this offer. The food was good, but the awful customer service definitely left a bad taste in our mouths. Two weeks later, Corner Bakery is still promoting this deal at the Schaumburg location. If I knew the offer would be honored without a fight, I'd be back, but based on my last experience, it's not worth the risk.

I'll also say that Olive Garden is a nice chain for the right casual occasion and there's a reason they've been around for such a long time.

Now, you see people walk in with pajamas. Not a lot, just one or two. I can see why Americans get made fun of for wearing pajamas that they sleep in, and wear it the whole day outside to places. Our waitress was a very sweet, older woman but she was very forgetful. She asked me if I wanted cheese on my entree and I said yes. She never came back. She forgot that I wanted a refill on my iced tea. She remembered to bring the check though. This is about a 3. Good food but very poor service. Food was solid. It was a good thing we ordered appetizers because the entrees came out pretty late. It came out about 35 mins after our appetizers. There was a large table next to us that came in later, but they somehow received their entrees before us. We ordered the stuffed ziti fritta, Calabrian steak & shrimp bucatini, and seafood alfredo. We got the chicken & gnocchi and zuppa toscana soups. They were delicious. Not salty. -stuffed ziti fritta 5 - I ordered these but I love how cheesy they are. It's good with or without the sauces. Crispy shell and cheesy inside. -Calabrian steak & shrimp bucatini 5 - this is a new entree. The grilled sirloin tips were tender, about medium cooked. The shrimp pieces were jumbo. The sauce has a bit of a kick but not too spicy.

It was awful. I'm mentioning this because although that specific worker argued back with the customer (for justified reasons), the other 3 workers on his team tried to de-escalate the situation to get the man to leave the store with his food. After 10 minutes of the guy yelling, they were able to get the guy to leave. Once he left, the workers were great friends and coworkers to the guy who was targeted and had him go on his break to cool down. It was nice to see them taking care of their team. If you read my Yelp on the original location, you'll learn I was quite impressed with the unique qualities of the bread and circuses therein. THIS store, however, is not a funky old Chitown corner tavern, repurposed into a brilliant resto as the original is. It has the appearance and feel of a corporate outpost with NONE of the intrinsic vibe and atmosphere of the paternal iteration. It's a big room, with an enclosed "patio" with even less charm. One of the great things about the original is the non-exclusive yet cordial service, hinting at rough trade, yet somehow I believe this is a manufactured behavior, for fun. Kind of like if Ed Debevic was a hardcore outlaw biker. (IYKYK). The servers here were kind of cheerless, and aloof. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was yum. A Caesar was next, and that too, was pretty tasty. So I started to think, "Ok this isn't the original Kuma's, but the Schaumburg audience is going to be a bit different than the Northside Hipsters". When you're aware of circumstances, attitudes change. Wife played it safe, eschewing all the ooga-booga burgers of the menu and just going for a regular burger, ketchup, mayo, tomato, onions, no cheese please. Cooked medium. I, however, remembered seeing someone on TeeVee having a "Plague Bringer" supposedly redolent of Garlic and fiercely chilli'ed. Right up my alley! I bid the Waitron to bring it with all speed. The burgers appeared shortly. Wife noticed the tomato on her plate had an unsavory black & grey area in its innards. obviously rotten. How the expediter ever let that get out of the Kitchen, I dont know. It was sent back an returned with an excuse it was a bit of olive that got mixed up with the tomato. I immediately checked the menu to see if they OFFERED anything, anywhere with black olives, and there wasn't anything there. I asked the same of the Waitron, and got the same answer. As wife didn't put the tomato on her burger, it was shuffled to the side. Wife said the burger was nothing special, And neither was my "PlagueBringer". Most of it was buried in Tortilla Strips. Not appetizing at all. The expected Garlic onslaught was nowhere to be found, neither was the anticipated chilli pepper sting. All I could taste were the french fried onions (the same ones you find on greenie beanie casseroles during your Grandmother's Thanksgiving dinner) heaped under the top pretzel bun hood. A segregated bite found the burger patties un-seasoned and not terribly tasty (both mine and Wife's burger). What a bummer. They gave a very small discount on the burger as an apology for the offending tomato slice. We don't go into restos with a defensive attitude. We HATE sending things back, and will only take a discount or comp if the kitchen or service ABSOLUTELY shit the bed. Wife had the queasies for the rest of the day thinking other vegetations on her burger (or the burger itself) had evidence of mishandling. Fortunately, there was no food sickness. Yes, there was heavy metal music playing very loudly throughout our visit, making conversation difficult, but I knew that would prolly be the case on the way in. The whole thing was disappointing. I was hot-to-trot about the original store and how they seemed they were taking a stand against any restaurant taking itself too seriously. It wouldn't surprise me to learn the folks who financed this outpost mandated some marketing fuck to whitewash the "Heavy Metal" concept, as seen in countless corporate restos based on a charming, small joint, and having none of its original DNA. Doug Sohn was so right to never franchise "Hot Doug's", lest the accountants make a pudding of his concept and vibe as they obviously did here with Kuma's I should have known when I walked in the front door and did not see a placard with the "house rules" nearby. It's a one star. The Old Fashioned and Salad weren't THAT good.
