We are new to the area and this place has impressed us the most so far. My husband's favorite food is a Reuben- so we have tried them all. This was the best Reuben we have ever had. Looking for a sandwich away from the boring old chains? This place is where you should go. We have been a few times and every sandwich I've had is spectacular. Our favorites have been the Rueben, meatloaf and tuna melt. The Rueben was stacked with deliciously flavorful pastrami and perfectly toasted on what seemed to be homemade rustic bread. The meatloaf sandwich took me by surprise though. I had no idea what to expect. Intentionally eat meatloaf...on a sandwich? But trust me. This ain't your mamas meatloaf. It's better. It had a light, savory and perhaps Italian flavor topped with roasted tomatoes and on a super soft brioche bun. This was like an amazing hamburger without the heaviness. Try it, you won't regret it. And the tuna melt was just fantastic. You can easily screw up a classic but this place seems to put a unique spin on all of their flavors, and then takes it up another notch with incredible bread. I also love that they offer a mini side salad choice from their deli section instead of chips. On our most recent trip, we purchased some sausages which were also great! This little hidden gem sits in a small shopping plaza off route 55 and Eagle, Idaho. They offer local items for sale in and around Boise. They carry a great selection of Snake River meats. They sell local bread's and the Tuscan loaf is just amazing. I don't think it matters what sandwich you order in the shop it will not disappoint.! I went to New York 7 years ago and had the Pastrami sandwich from Katz's deli. It's purportedly the best Pastrami sandwich on the planet. I get food delivered on a monthly basis from Goldbelly, and have had Katz's delivered about 3 times I've eaten there twice in person, and have had delivery. What amazing service! I called the Saturday before Mother's Day to see about placing a delivery order for my Mom who lives in Eagle and meanwhile I live in Miami .... thanks to COVID 19, I couldn't be there in person but figured a nice meal would go a long way as we all are finding creative ways to deliver a hug and love despite the distance from family and friends. This place is the best. It is right by my office so I have had many lunches here and have never had a complaint. The sandwiches are great - I love the BLT. The salads are also amazing - the Caesar is a favorite but the berry and Greek salads are also great. The soup is also good! Really you can't go wrong. And get a cookie or brownie or specialty dessert bar. You won't be disappointed. Short and sweet: The Reuben is orgasmic. Made in front of you on a flat grill, it shuns sauerkraut in favor of pickled onions and this takes an otherwise trite sandwich into the ethereal and sublime. Talk about a good sandwich. Some friends told us about this place awhile back and we finally decided to give it a try with them. The menu is simple but there is something on there for everyone. They offer smoked meats on their sandwiches or you could just have a simple deli. I had their California tri-tip with a side of orzo pasta salad. They were both very very good. If you're not hungry, you could also come by to pick up some meats for you meals later. They have a full variety and could probably get you anything you were particularly looking for. My first time here. I had a half of a BLT which was yummy. Their bacon is thick cut. I just wish the thick fat on the bacon wasn't soggy and that they used real avocados vs the weird prepackaged stuff. The half was a bit on the small side. I also had their small Greek salad. It is very hearty and would have been enough to eat by itself. It has delicious chunks of free range chicken breast. The salad was great. I happened to get a lot of of large pieces of the bottom of the romain stalks that doesn't taste great but that was probably a fluke. Good customer service. I've had my eye on coming here for the better part of a year, but almost never make it out to Eagle. We finally came last week, and although we had eaten our lunch already, I had to give this place a shot. We shared a pulled pork sandwich that was super delicious! We also added the beans and potato salad as a side. I am not a fan of sweet beans, but if you are I am sure you would enjoy these. I did need to make a trip to the ladies restroom while in the store, and thought it was odd to have to squeeze behind the employees work stations and through the food prep area to get to the bathroom. However, it did give me a chance to peek at their work area and it was very clean with their employees all wearing gloves. I can't wait to return to savor more of their offerings. read more

Their selection is very good and the cuts are of high quality. However, may I suggest that all workers who handle the meats wear gloves and change them after they've handled money or other non-food items. Also, the meat counter guy with the long beard needs a beard net. Sanitation is so important in food handling....especially raw meat. It's a small place with a butcher shop and sandwich shop combined. Lots of high quality, but expensive raw meat - Snake River Farms, and others. The is limited space for eating in, so I'd recommend take out. If you sit at the one, high, uncomfortably narrow table in the middle of the cramped space, expect to be jostled from behind and part of the conversations of your 4 closest neighbors. I made the mistake of getting a "smoked" BBQ brisket sandwich. The roll was good, but the brisket was dried out and thinly sliced, with no smoke flavor other than the liquid smoke in the barbeque sauce.
