Food was absolutely amazing and delicious. Our server Perry was fantastic and a joy to have as our server. We went on a Wednesday night and there was live music, very inviting decor. When we come Back to Pennsylvania we will visit again.

My family and I were in town for a memorial service when the night of we decided to come here because we heard that the reviews were great and we wanted to check it out for ourselves. When we finished our meals I knew that the chef had a real talent for understanding food and I mean really understanding the culinary arts. I told him that I would be writing a review and compared him to Daniel Boulud. I still agree with this statement from what I remember about the meal but it's been a long time coming. My mom ordered the mushroom soup and normally I'm not a fan of mushroom soup but this was INCREDIBLE. The flavors were exquisite and the soup was creamy and the ingredients were fresh. I myself ordered the pasta dish at the time and it was creamy and delicious and flavorful. I know that the rest of my party enjoyed their meals and I knew I needed to speak to the chef. I'm glad I did. He was really nice.

Cute restaurant along the main drag way with metered parking. Not sure if there's a garage nearby or not. Had a bar, indoor seating, and outdoor patio area. Stopped in for a cocktail. They have a great selection of drinks that have had some great thought put into them. Tried the blood orange margarita and the Mushroom Manhattan. This area is the mushroom capital so it was on point. Both were great! Staff very friendly and attentive. Worth a stop!

Linguini with seafood in a red sauce

We ordered the Linguini with Seafood of clams mussels, shrimp and calamari in a red sauce. The salad was a beet, goat cheese and apple over greens. The dessert was white chocolate cheesecake with raspberry sauce. The service was very good and attentive and overall an enjoyable meal!

Really excellent dining experience! Lovely surroundings and live music. Susan was a terrific server. Excellent wine list. We both had mushroom soup, and I had the clams app. The soup was wonderful, very complex. The clams were good, mildly spicy, though not noted as such on the menu. B had the blue crab ravioli with shrimp, while I had the stroganoff. Both were superb. The stroganoff gravy was delicious and the potato dumplings were very light. Hats off to the chefs and Susan for a great meal! Molto grazie!

Roasted Mushroom soup

Staff is very kind! I like that they do have seasonal menu items :) The roasted mushroom soup is one of my favorite soups (besides noodle soups)! It's so flavorful and comforting...it's basically all you could ever ask for a soup! I love the chill ambiance it has there. I enjoyed my short ribs this time, but I enjoyed the pasta dish I had the first time I was there in the winter! We stopped here based on a recommendation from my coworker and I definitely would recommend it to everyone! It's a bit of a trip for me, but we basically go as a dinner option after having visited Longwood gardens. :)

Sbagliato

All around score of 5 stars. We were greeted at the door by the hostess and owner Sandra for our 5:00 pm reservation. Seated in the lovely main dining room, the walls are a warm rose color with large painting on the walls. Cozy, but not overdone. Our friendly and informed server Marissa answered any questions we had on menu offering and portion sizes. The beverage and cocktail list offers several cocktails, drafts and mocktails that do not look sugary. My request for a sbagliato was prepared to perfection. Mushrooms are a big component of menus here in Kennet Square. We started with the crab stuffed mushroom caps, served as 4 large caps. The generous portion of mushroom soup was creamy and delicious. We shared the ample sized veal and prosciutto bolognese pasta dish was shared. The pasta dish is savory and hearty. We asked Marissa to take away the plate to stop us from hurting ourselves by over eating. From beginning to end our experience at Portobello's was first rate and delicious.

Gosh. What a mushroom capital experience, house white wine with the mushroom pizza....hands down a great choice

Went there with friends after hitting Longwood Gardens. Ambiance and service was solid but the food was okay. Best item for us was the mushroom soup which was very good. As to the rest, I think it was cooked alright but the dishes were too salty for almost everyone at the table. My wife and I ordered the Portabello ravioli and the Shellfish Fra Diavolo... I liked texture and was not overdone but just way too salty. I was a bit disappointed because the place is a tad pricy. It's not super clear to me if I will return, maybe for lunch but not sure.

Mushroom soup

Food and service was great. Their mushroom soup is to die for!! We also had the portobello wrap which was equally delicious.

Sunday Gravy

This place is extremely nice. Very nice decor with a jazz musician playing. Our waitress was amazing. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, was very friendly, very beautiful and really just a pleasure to be around. She had a slight mishap that resulted in me getting ranch dressing on my pants and some broken dishes but it was a total accident and she apologized 1000x. This did not discourage me one bit. The food was really good. The veal meat ball in the Sunday Gravy was very tender. For some reason the sausage was kind of cold which seemed odd to me. I had a portobello egg roll as well which was really good. This place is expensive but for the service i got i would gladly pay that.

I'm not generally an Italian food person but so glad we tried this place. We were looking for somewhere to eat before going to a 7pm reservation at longwood gardens. Service was great and so was the food, I got the pasta and my boyfriend got the lamb and we shared the shrimp appetizer. We would definitely come back!

Zappa, C.W.Stoneking, you don't hear this music anywhere around here. Started with an old fashioned which feature a "well bourbon" for happy hour. Don't recommend. Ordered two of the small plates and the highlight was the Thai shrimp. They were huge (12s?) and just fried crispy enough. The chicken wings got the job done. Came with 9, but my GLP drugs only tolerated 6. Overall I would try again, but with Bulleit Rye and just the shrimp. Or the fish and chips.

We also had one dirty martini and two other cocktails at our table and everyone enjoyed their drinks. The charcuterie board was a nice assortment and came out with slices of toasted bread that was probably sourdough and quite good. The wings were good and came out well done and with the sauces on the side as requested. Very tasty. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive as was the food runner. My friend commented that it reminded her very much of the pubs she'd been in when she visited Ireland. I don't think you could give a bigger compliment to an Irish pub!

Tucked away in longwood gardens the dining area is beautiful and upscale…read more Bread and butter: 5/5 absolutely delicious. The bread is super soft and fluffy while maintains a slight moistness to it. Mild hint of herbal flavors while it was paired with a super light butter accented with honey and lavender. I can eat this as the whole meal if I could. Duck Liver Mousse: 4/5 Creamy and delicious with a hint of sweetness. Literally the taste of fall in your mouth. Melts straight in your mouth and decently complimented. The only thing is it still needs just a little more contrasting texture. Ricotta Gnocchi: 5/5 well executed. Springy gnocchi stuffed with ricotta. A great balance of savory and nutty flavors. Lamb Skewer:4/5 came with a black berry compote and tzatziki sauce. Lamb was cooked perfectly but by itself lacked flavor. It went very well with the black berry compote. The mild sweetness and mild spice blended together very well. The tzatziki sauce was very light and the sauce itself lacked depth. Came with tiny pieces of cucumbers that you had to make sure was within your sauce bite. Overall a decent dish but not a perfect dish. Sablefish: 5/5 fresh; cooked to perfection and the sauce complimented the flavors of the sablefish without overpowering it but at the same time takes away ocean-like taste that can be dislike by some people. Rohan Duck: 3/5 The dish sounds great on paper but the execution was lacking. I would not recommend. The skin was mildly crispy but the fat underneath was not rendered enough in which it became very chewy and inedible. The meat itself was cooked ok. There were spots where it was overcooked. The duck itself needed more love. By itself there is no seasoning. The broccoli rabe was a bit bitter. Overall cannot recommend this dish. Baba Au Rum: 4/5 very interesting dish. The rum flavor is very strong the cake. Despite saying notes of coconut and pinapple it was more of a citrus/yuzu taste to the fruits and coconut cream didn't have much flavor. However, it was very good! Taking each component by itself doesn't speak much but combining them together is great. Hints of sweetness, citrus, that compliments with the rum flavor and not allowing it to be overpowering. Dulce Cheesecake: 4/5 very good cheese cake. Same thing the pumpkin flavor was lost on me but very good cheesecake and love the toasted oat gelato Overall still an amazing experience. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Very professional environment. Food came out at a timely manner.

I thought this was a steal! The garden elixir was the butterfly lemonade which was the perfect amount of tart and sweet. The brioche had rosemary and the butter was so light and airy! For the entree I chose the ocean trout and it was moist and cooked to perfection. The dessert was the only thing i didn't all the way love : it was dark chocolate coins and a jelly coated with sugar. One of the jellies tasted fine but the second one was a bit stale or like it had been sitting out for a while. All in all, it was a good meal. The service was impeccable and you can't be mad at the view of the fountains. In comparison to the food in the cafe, I feel like it's an easy choice on where to dine in Longwood Gardens.

However the people (customers) at the bar were such bad vibes. We ended up sitting in the other room and it was all older couples talking so loudly we could hear every word. Not to make a fuss, and although it was enclosed and heated, the door opening would cause a terrible draft and would bang and shake the table. That was the only drawback to an otherwise great dinner.
