A friend and I came to Popular Nail Bar for manicures and pedicures. Popular is her favorite nail salon and upon walking in, I can see why. The aesthetics are beautiful! Popular is located in a great shopping center at an easy to get to location. Lots of parking available! When you enter, there are several attendants ready to assist with your service or you can enter your phone number in the small screen on the counter and input your requested services there. We were quickly taken to our chairs to start our pedicures and offered a menu. At Popular, cocktails are included (one of the reasons it's my friends favorite). Warning - the pink panther is strong and sweet! The technician giving my pedicure was kind and attentive to me throughout my process. I decided on both colors for my mani and pedi; I noticed for the color I chose for my pedicure that they gave me a color that was very similar but not the one I picked; it was a different number. I asked about it, but if I hadn't asked, they weren't going to tell me. For my manicure, the gentleman wasn't very friendly. He got polish under my fingers and cleaned them with a nail file once I showed him, but didn't acknowledge it. I also wasn't offered a cushion for my manicure, so spent the duration with my hands pulled to my right side on the arm rest, which made my neck hurt by the end. I didn't think anything of it until noticed everyone around me with one except me; not a big deal if I didn't hurt my neck, but it did. As part of the package we purchased, it came with an 8 minute leg massage for the pedicure and 5 minute neck massage for the manicure. The technicians asked me if I wanted the massage together or separate, which confused me. I thought they meant both at the same time. I told them together, which ended up meaning I received a 13 minute leg massage and no neck massage. I should have asked more, but felt this was misleading. I would definitely give Popular another chance, but this particular visit was not 5 stars for me. read more

Normally I don't have a problem when I get my nails done here, but I recently got a pedicure and the lady was very aggressive when cutting my cuticles. Once I got there and checked in, a technician was there to help me in about 10 minutes. Helen was strictly business and got the job done. I will go back and request her when I do. If you want French shellac it's $20 more, which doesn't make any sense at all that shellac would only be $5 more. This is a nice place just for basic, but that add on certainly is way over priced. I met my friend here for a mani pedi. She has been coming to this salon for a while and highly recommend it. She checked us in and we ordered a dip manicure and regular pedicure for her and a shellac gel manicure and regular pedicure for me. We were seated right away but I was sat in a chair where the chair clearly wasn't ready for the next service. Red flag number one. My friend was served immediately and they started on her pedicure as soon as we sat down. It took 35 minutes before someone showed up to put the protective lining in the bowl and put some water in for me to soak my feet. Another 10 minutes goes, while the water gets freezing cold, finally my lady comes. Her name was Hannah and she was really sweet (at the beginning) but oddly, not apologetic about making me wait 45 minutes to get started. I ordered the Now and Later Pedicure which is $44 and includes the pedicure, a 5 minute massage, and paraffin wax. Her pedicure quality was fine, the massage was ok, and I was satisfied with my services. This is where it took a turn for the worst. When Hannah was finished with my pedicure she brought me my receipt but I told her I wasn't done, I was also supposed to get a manicure. She walked over to the man in charge and told him the problem. He told her that she should go ahead and do my manicure since she's already servicing me. This is when she got a serious attitude and the quality of everything went downhill. She rushed through my manicure and kept yanking on my hands and arms. The manicure quality was mediocre at best. I don't understand why she got such a bad attitude about doing the manicure but there is no excuse for taking out a mistake on a customer. I was very disappointed overall and I will not be returning myself. My friend loved what she got and it did look really amazing! She was treated well and her lady was super attentive and did an amazing job. Hannah did not. read more

Do not EVER let them remove your gel polish! Linda will use the Dremel and shave your nails down until they are paper thin. My nails keep splitting and cracking. I have never had this happen anywhere else before. I am literally going to let them grow out. It's horrible! read more

I showed a picture of the set I wanted upon arrival. Nothing fancy, just a basic French tip and was told it wouldn't be an issue. Well... it didn't turn out at all like the picture. She did the best she could with the experience she had. I asked her a couple times to make them thinner, even them out, etc. she was very nice and would do as I asked. I also didn't feel I should have had to do that. I paid and left. I don't think I'll ever go and get that service there again and I wish their techs were a bit more honest with their skills and the customer they take on. read more

Came in for a pedicure with regular polish. When I arrived, my nail technician was still helping someone else which was fine because I arrived early and wanted to choose my color. I don't know how long I ended up waiting for (longer than my appointment time) but I wasn't in a rush. When I was finally able to sit in a chair, I was offered a complimentary drink and I told the technician which color I wanted. After she came back, she told me they didn't have that color. I was a bit surprised because I don't think I've ever been to a nail salon that advertised a color and didn't have it available. Anyways, I picked another color which I ended up liking a lot so it was fine. I will say when it comes to the regular polish colors, there seemed to be more limited color options than other salons I've gone to. I can't speak to any of the gel or powders because I didn't look at those. The pedicure was nice and my technician did a great job and took her time. The place was clean and I liked the atmosphere. They are currently remodeling so I'd recommend making an appointment but soon it looks like they'll be able to service a lot more people at once. I've been here a couple of times. I get my nails dipped. I didn't realize how few dip color choices they actually have. I wanted a light shimmery Christmas red. They had very limited choices. None of which worked. The tech tried to help adjust the color and it ended up looking good - just not what I wanted. The front end manager has the personality of a door - none. Not even friendly. Salon was nicely decorated, had high ceilings, and was bright and clean. Front desk had a male reception manager and he was friendly and professional. They asked us to sign in on keypad and took us back to our seats. The male mgr came to ask what we wanted to drink, took our orders, and went back up front. While we soaked our feet and got prepped for our pedicures, they brought our complimentary drinks out- nice touch that drinks were in actual glass-ware rather than plastic or paper disposables like some other places. We got 3 regular pedicures. My particular technician, Rachel, was fast and efficient. She wasn't into small talk much, notified when she turned on the 5-minute timer for the massage, then just did her job and went on her way. i would always come here till today...i spent 2 hours at the nail salon with ana while i had a big event the next day and she did a horrible job i kept telling her to correct everything, what i asked for was not done at all!!! i still paid and left tip knowing it was a horrible job but she's human we all do mistakes but the manager handled it oso bad when i told the managers they were like oh ok what do you want me to do? so unprofessional!!! showed them how awful it was they told me to come back and to fix them? i called the manager tom to ask for a refund and he said no but he can fix them or give me a discount next time i come? so i came back again they had to drill and soak off for the 2nd time my real nails hurt so bad and are so thin now...i spent 1 hour and 30mins to get them fixed and another manager tiffany proceeded to tell me how maybe that tech isnt for me? like if anyone should get this type of service and it's okay? i told her what i asked for she said ana charged me wrong like that's my fault ? and i wanted crome and they wanted to charhe me extra like if the distress of all this wasnt enough? the managers have no type of customer service at all i will never go back!!! please save your $ because that's all they care about not the customer they couldn't even give that as i'm sorry for bad service! read more

I really like this salon and my technician BUT I'm done. They up-sell you to death. 'Want a fresh full set...No; you need a new set next time, no this is my 2nd refill...want a design...want a pedicure (was asked 3 times)?'. My big complaint is the pricing. A nail refill is $43. No it's not. They charge $2 for using your debit card and $5 every single time for something ... every single time. Fix a broken nail (not replace the tip but extend the acrylic a bit) $5. The one the send me over the edge was $5 to shape my nails. I walked in with one shape, walked out with the same shape but was charged $5 to shape my nails. Isn't filing your nails part of a refill? So, you think it's just $7, but that's 16%! Just tell me $50 up front!; I'd be ok with that! It's telling that when I complained I was told 'that's what corporate requires'...Very interesting. read more

The struggle is real y'all! These days, it's not about the salon itself, but who you find (as your favorite) at that salon. Unfortunately, typically every salon has 2-3 favorite technicians that are highly sought after based on Yelp reviews and recommendations, and due to only being the select few, they tend to be overbooked or burnt out as a result. We decided to give this place a try. They've been open for about two months, so fairly new. The interior is spacious, well decorated, with chandeliers and lots of lighting. Immediately as you walk in there is a front desk stand and a sofa seating area. They also have a full bar in the center of their salon and they offer complimentary alcoholic beverage with your services (this was not initially relayed, so we thought we had to purchase the beverage and ended up asking for cucumber water). We were immediately greeted and were able to take our time to pick out our colors. 2X pedicures and 3x regular manicures. My lady seemed to lack experience and so another technician, Ann, took over and had to completely re-polish some of my nails because my initial technician painted on too thick. My sisters technician initially painted on the color really well, but when it came time to do the top clear coat, she failed to put it on evenly so since my sister had black nail polish, you could see where she missed the areas to top coat. All in all, the experience was good. All the staff were very professional and friendly. Welcoming and made sure we were comfortable. I also appreciated that Ann took over and made sure several times that I was happy with the service, and she said to come back if there were any issues and they would fix it free of charge. Definitely the cutest nail bar I've been to in a while. And I've lived across the street from it for a year and I've waisted so many months of not coming here. It's bright with the nice front windows that they have and the decor is just amazing, I definitely feel like I'm somewhere else than across the street from home. It was a Sunday afternoon when I went for my first time with no appointment and I waited less than a minute to be sat in my chair for a pedicure. I had Jennifer and she did great, I will definitely ask for her again when I return. The only thing that was misled during my pedicure was that I was told it was $10 extra for gel/shellac, but instead it was $15 when I checked out.
