However, we really enjoy the food and coziness of the room so we have continued to make Henry's one of our regular dining experiences. We were going to make reservations for later this month when I noticed a line on their website saying that a 20% gratuity had been added to the bill. I thought that maybe it was a line that had been added on because of New Year's Eve or at that the prices on the menu now reflected the 20% gratuity and no further tipping would be required. My husband sent an email to Henry's asking them to clarify what the policy was. We received a response from Jasmine "20% will be add on. It does not refer only to groups but also to each individual consumer". Sadly, we will not be going to Henry's anymore. The food is very good but the prices are already very high. We were at a Seasons in the Park last night. Their prices are less than Henry's. The setting is nicer, service was outstanding and food is very bit as good as Henry's.

It was amazing we could find and eat such delicious pasta in Port Moody. This hidden French and…read moreItalian pasta restaurant located on St. John's Street has street parking. We walked into the restaurant without any customers. A server seated us right away. Her service was great knowing that it was our first time to eat here and letting us know what was special and what we should try. We ordered mussels with white wine, tomatoes and herbs as appetizers and our main dishes were Penne Alfredo and Linguine Pescatora. Penne Alfredo was just a simple dish of penne with white creamy sauce and Parmesan cheese, but OMG! It was extraordinarily delicious! Chef Henry could cook this simple dish so well that I could 100% guarantee it is hard to find such a good simple dish in Greater Vancouver. Linguine Pescatora was full of seafood (shrimps, mussels, clams, scallops, and calamari) in a light spicy tomato sauce. The seafood was fresh (not frozen ones) and the texture of linguine was firm and chewy. Everything was irresistible. We would love to visit this restaurant and try other dishes in the near future. It was worth a trip to come all the way to Port Moody and eat the pasta here. (This pasta restaurant was originally located in Vancouver West.).

We were given a few small pieces of bread with some thinly sliced meat, a tomato spread and a few pieces of Parmigianno Reggiano cheese. Hmmm...that was kind of different. Usually it's just bread with Olive oil & balsamic vinegar, or bread with some kind of spread. Adding the thinly sliced meat and the few pieces of cheese was a nice touch. I especially enjoyed the cheese! For our entrees my friend ordered Linguine e salmone, and I ordered Bucatini all Bomba. The Linguine e salmone came with a fairly large and thick piece of salmon. I was impressed with how generous the portion of salmon was for this dish. My dish was tasty but kinda paled in comparison next to the huge slab of salmon on my friend's plate. No fault of the restaurant as I had opted not to add any protein to my dish. I have a feeling if I'd added protein then there's a good chance I'd have ended up with a similar sized piece on my plate as well. Salmon for example would have cost an extra $14 to add to my dish. For that sum, I have a feeling it would be a pretty generous slab of salmon they'd be adding. I did very much enjoy the flavors of my dish. The portion of pasta looked a bit small upon first glance, but it was actually quite filling. I had just enough room after my pasta to order a Grappa Tiramisu for dessert, and as I don't come to Port Moody very often, I decided to splurge and order one. Mmmmm...sooo good. If you like Italian food, this place is quite a gem. I also love that they have a Vegetarian lasagna on their menu. As someone who doesn't eat meat, a Vegetarian lasagan is something that always grabs my attention when I'm at Italian restaurants. If I find myself at Osteria Povera again, I will definitely order the Vegetarian lasagna next time! Service: Fair Parking: Free parking on the street

We stumbled upon this place while waitlisted elsewhere nearby but Im glad that happened. The ambiance of Povera is old timey, warm, and intimate. Tables are small and somewhat compact but it doesn't feel that way. The service was alright. The only time service fell short was when we asked for things like a straw for the drink or fresh ground pepper. Maybe staff were tired as it was the end of the night or maybe they were really busy. Regardless, we did have to ask a few times before they brought things over. Brownie points to our server though - We had a lovely server who was patient and let us take our time to review the menu. And he generously offered up the antipasto spreads and focaccia, which was delicious! The food was great. Highly recommend the focaccia. It was so good! Seasoned just right and had a great crunch. Listened to others' recommendations and got the salmon linguine. Now, it may sound simple on paper (lemon, rosemary, linguine, salmon) but it is done very well. The salmon was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The rosemary did a lot of heavylifting but wasn't overwhelming the dish. The lemon was a touch of acid to being brightness to the dish. Everything worked together. We also got the Bomba pasta with chicken. Also good, had a lot of flavours working together! The chicken also has a crisp exterior and tender interior. I'd definitely come back here for a date night or a more intimate chat with friends.

It's a good atmosphere as it is never really busy during lunch time, so you can be seated immediately. Also relatively quiet. The only thing not great is the parking. There is limited street parking, which is pretty much always occupied, but there is a small lot around the corner you can park at and then walk there. 10/10 would recommend to try at least once as their menu will have you going back to try their other food items

However, the lasagna was served lukewarm for some odd reason, and was a bit of a let down. Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed their regular pizzas more than their award winning pizzas. Although the alla facciazza was very unique, I didn't really like how the pistachios weren't crushed. I actually liked the Maradona much more!

Prices sit at the edge of discomfort for what you get - this isn't a value spot. I tried the calzone and the carbonara; the calzone arrived slightly burnt on the outside and very wet inside, likely from raw vegetables, and it didn't compare to versions I've had in Italy or New York. The carbonara was just okay and both dishes were only lukewarm rather than pipping hot. Service at the bar felt distracted, with the bartender drifting off mid-conversation, and the pizza maker was wearing a very worn T‑shirt styled like a chef coat, which added to a generally casual, neighborhood feel. Overall, it was a hearty enough meal for the area, but with these prices and execution, it's a 3‑star experience.

Nice sorta open kitchen concept, where you see the Italian maestro at work. Looks like an Italian grandpa to be honest. My fav dish was the seafood one with fish and shrimps. It was loaded with generous pieces and finished perfectly with a touch of white wine and vodka sauce. The pesto one was also good. Not too overpowering, with a touch of crème fresh. The burrata was also so good. Freshly made and complimented by a nice drizzle of olive and balsamic. Another winner is the house bread which you can keep in asking for.
