This was my first time ordering from here, they have a pretty decent selection for starters. Second, the people are really nice behind the counter, big smile and authentic... no made up smile. Third, my husband and I both found that the pizza was not greasy at all, and the quality was really top, which most pizza places are soaked in grease and super salty and or just plain old not good quality. Pizza is alright, one of the better ones around since it's a fire oven. Business is brisk so the pizza is fresh as people are buying constantly. The staff is kept busy churning out pizzas too. Quite a treat to watch them flip the dough. 3 stars due to them backtracking on my request. I asked if I can order 20 pieces of wings with two different flavors. They said yes and this was checked a few times while they keyed in the order. The bill showed separate orders of 10 pieces of wings instead. When I asked about it, they said oh they can't separate the sauce for 20 pieces (an excuse for sure, but it's their business model). The boss (I assumed) then asked what do I want to do. I was half tempted to just cancel the entire thing just for principle sake. Anyway I changed it to just 10 wings in whatever sauce he decided since he never seemed to hear what I said. So just order the pizza or whatever is there and don't make changes. They can't deal with that. Don't order the wings. They are quite sad looking. I feel scammed! Worst pizza I've ever had, and I've eaten gas station pizzas before. Ordered an "authentic" margherita pizza, and was basically given a cheese pizza with sparse mint basil on it. Just under $25 for a thin, oily, cheese pizza. Not to mention overcrowded staff in the back with no masks. I was there for 15 minutes and did not see any of the 8 employees wash their hands although the cash tender was cutting pizzas without gloves!! Having eaten at their downtown and Commercial Drive locations, Parking is available in the New Westminster Station lot directly below. They specialize in Neapolitan style (thin crust) pizza. This means that the pizza won't as be as filling as some of the competitors. But it'll hit the spot. 100% not my favourite place. The pizza isn't the best, It's usually lacking spice and the dough can be quite "doughy" usually, or burnt on the bottom. However the location is prime (right under the new west skytrain) so its super convenient when you're too hangry to cook or simply just passing through. The staff are not very friendly and usually if you don't decide what you want right away, they become very dismissive of you and don't bother asking if you want the pizza heated in the oven. There's is plenty of seating which is great because this place is usually pretty packed around dinner time, but it is hotter inside the shop than outside in the summer time. I suggest sitting at the long tables right outside the door that has bench seating. As a bonus in the winter there is heaters above the outside seating... although this isn't part of the pizza shop itself, it's a bonus. This place is great for a last minute dinner decision but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. Especially when it's 2 slices for $5. There's a place at Joyce skytrain that includes a pop or water for $5 as well. Maybe if they were friendlier, paid more attention to the flavour of pizza and gave better deals (only one on right now is 8 slices for $18) then I would re think my point of view. read more

Used to be really good pizza but the quality totally went downhill. I went to the Carnarvon location yesterday bought 2 slices. I noticed the pizza size was changed to smaller size than before, the topping looks mushy and when i ate it,its too salty and chewy. After one bite i put in the box and threw it . Normally we are understanding of the long wait times for delivery from the New West location of Pizza Garden, but when we ordered this week what was quoted as 50 minutes was closer to an hour and a half.... mostly because the delivery driver didn't punch in our address properly, and had to call a couple of times to clarify. This is inspite of the fact that the location has my address and the order taker confirmed my address on file. It's not like our place is hard to find! Needless to say, the Napoleon style pizza arrived cold and soggified.... F*ck fruit, this pizza belongs in the Garden of Eden. Though Uncle Fatih still makes some damn fine slices of pie, Pizza Garden is my new favourite joint. Being a huge fan of the Uncle, this revelation took several visits to admit to myself. Oddly enough, the founder of Pizza Garden also started the Megabite chain, though the two are from different Gods completely. Using 100% Italian Caputo flour and a wood stone (gas powered, not firewood) oven, these guys and gals make everything fresh to order. No mass prepping like other guys. The thin crust has the perfect amount of crispiness and chewiness that will make you say 'f*ck, this is good sh*t'. Though nearly every variety of tried is damn good, my favourites are Capicola, Hawaiian, Ground Beef and one I can't remember that name (has parsley on it). Doesn't hurt that all the staff are super passionate and friendly. Fun to watch these guys feed the oven. At only $2.25/slice GST-in, it's a god damn steal. Every visit has gotten better which is perfect. Higher turnover = constant freshness and wicked selection. If New West is too far, check out their Commercial Drive or Downtown (Smithe) locations. Stopped in before I went grocery shopping at Safeway (as a rule, I don't grocery shop on an empty stomach. Otherwise chaos ensues). My friend was really hungry and wanted the lasagna with garlic toast and a coke while I just ordered the two slices w/ a pop deal. The fellow rang in my order and it came to $6 and something? I asked him if he a rang in the lasagna as that alone was like $8 or something. He looked at me blankly and said something a long the lines of "debit or cash?". He looked very confused so I assumed there was a language barrier so I explained to him I wanted to order the lasagna and garlic toast as well as two slices and two pops. He really seemed confused and after awhile another fellow came over. I told him very slowly and clearly my order and they both spent awhile at the till pushing buttons and looking confused. A third man, the cook, came up. I then told him what I was looking to order. The first two men were now completely ignoring me and the cook was looking at me very crossly, as if I had offended him somehow. So I've been standing here for close to ten minutes now. After a few more confused minutes (I think although it's on the menu, the lasagna has never been ordered there) I told them it was alright and convinced my friend just to have a slice or two of pizza. I had a slice of cheese and a slice of capicollo and she just had pepperoni. The pizza was certainly a cut above the usual by-the-slice pizza. I've been ordering from the New West pizza garden for a while now, their Neapolitan style pizza is amazing. The last time I ordered they mixed up my order with another persons, as I live in a townhouse building we share the same address. To apologize they gave me a $5 discount coupon, great right? I attempted to use the coupon today, I called in and placed my order. I told the person that I had the coupon, they said it's fine and to just give it to the delivery driver. The coupon says "$5.00 discount on your next purchase of any regular priced Large Specialty Pizza" I ordered a 'Large Pepperoni' and they delivered an Extra-Large. When I noticed the size and price difference I asked the delivery driver. He told me that they only have Medium and Extra-Large. It seems odd that they would somehow leap from Medium to Extra large with no Large in between, even though the coupon specifies that it's Large, and not Extra or Medium. He said that large means Extra large to them. But their website doesn't specify sizes in words, only inches. He told me that when I ordered large they assumed Extra large, and that because the coupon says Large it doesn't say Medium. But with that same logic that means it doesn't say Extra. He ended up taking the pizza back, and they are re-making me a 'Medium' one now, he insisted on taking the coupon back with him and that I would still receive the discount. read more
