Wow this place was incredibly cute! I love the concept of getting to pick a popsicle or cup and add toppings. I got cereal milk popsicle with 1/2 coating of taro, white chocolate drizzle and chocolate crisps. I think I came in on a bad night but I didn't have the best experience. the line to place your order was super unorganized and they didn't take my name when I placed my order so the girl was confused when she brought out my items. I ordered some specialty waffles and a taro ice cream. I think the taro ice cream was really good, basically taro flavor with a hard taro flavored shell. I will be coming back to try more ice cream but the waffles were a complete miss. I ate them almost immediately but they were still super soggy and IMO over priced for the size and taste. Pop fancy Dessert Bar is by far the MOST interesting cafe in Houston. I've visited a few times in the past and just now realized they throw a series of quirky and trendy experiences. In the past I visited the cafe during their Demon Slayer event (Anime), and their Stranger Things event. Looking back I wish I would've taken pictures at the time, but I was too enveloped in the spectacles! When you walk into Popfancy you are always greeted with a warm smile, the staff will steer you in the right direction if it is your first time visiting because everything on their menu sounds delicious, or looks aesthetically pleasing. I can't put my finger on it yet, but this time around it looked like they were throwing a 90's arcade themed event. Maybe a rollover from the Stranger Things event, nonetheless the cafe is decorated enough for a full on photo shoot. Came here on a weeknight and was quite underwhelmed. I had the matcha popsicle with half chocolate and blueberry topping. I thought the popsicle was too icy, and it was overall overpriced. The soft serve was more reasonably priced, as the flavor and size seemed more worthwhile and enjoyable. Was impossible to eat the popsicle with the blueberries - they just rolled around everywhere. Part of it is my fault for ordering it, but I think it shouldn't be listed as an option if it doesn't work. I thought the dip would make the berries stick to the pop. read more

I was skeptical about leaving this review since this incident happened about a month or so ago, but I decided it's important to let others know of my experience here. My first time coming here with some friends and family. The interior is nice, pretty good atmosphere created by the color scheme and decorations. Unfortunately, the environment here seemed extremely hostile. Someone (who I'm pretty sure was the owner) said something to one of the employees and she immediately started crying. I saw her decorating flurries with tears in her eyes. She was doing a great job, obviously was working hard. Not sure what happened or what was said but I was extremely disturbed to see this happen. She wasn't doing anything visibly wrong, actually, I think she was great. Apart from her quickly making orders (which all looked delicious), we also made a few special requests to her and she was very patient and kind. She fulfilled each of them and was understanding of our concerns. Because of this I give my one star rating to this business. Sure, great ice cream, but I refuse to support a business that doesn't know how to treat its employees. They're the ones that ultimately run it. (Oh, great customer service, by the way. We were greeted by the employees when coming in and got our orders within minutes despite it being so busy.) What I witnessed was very unprofessional and inappropriate behavior on whoever that guy was's part. Don't plan on coming again, but if I do, I hope things are run differently. First of all, the decor of this place is AMAZING!! When I recently came here, they had their Winter Wanderlust theme going on, which consisted on beautiful, icy decorations all over the dessert bar...made me feel like I was in a Christmas movie! They also had a Winter Wanderlust themed menu that went along the decor. I ordered the Grinch's Heart drink with a Gummy Bear Shaped Plastic Bottle ($6.45 + $2.50 for the Gummy Bear Bottle) and my cousin ordered the Nutcracker's Gift drink with a Gummy Bear Shaped Plastid Bottle ($6.45 + $2.50 for the Gummy Bear Bottle). Flavors were so good! The Grinch's Heart had a pineapple taste to it, while the Nutcracker's Gift had a pink lemonade type of taste to it. I also found out that this place usually does different themes frequently, ranging from a Stranger Things theme to a K-Pop band theme (Seventeen, NCT themed menu, etc.), so that's pretty cool! I do admit that the prices of this place is very pricy, but I will let that slide because I can imagine how much the management had to spend on their decorations because they are so worth seeing. They stop serving ice cream at 10:35pm (understandable since they close at 11pm) so keep that in mind. It's kind of loud here so they have to yell your number when your order is ready. The vibes: immaculate. The ice cream: not very good. It's an Instagram trap. First off, the way the fog on the ice cream works, they put the ice cream in the lid of a frappacino cup with a hole on the bottom so as you're eating the ice cream once you start to finish it- it drops to the bottom through the hole. I lost 1/4 of my ice cream because of that. You also get 1-2 scoops of ice cream for like $15. I had the chocolate ice cream during the holiday/ frozen theme and it had the Harry Potter theme on it which was odd to me that it was labeled as a holiday specialty but it was from an old theme that they did. Most of the desserts were from the previous Barbie menu so it didn't tie into the aesthetic of the restaurant at all and in my opinion none of the food on the menu did. The mochi waffles were okay, I kind wish the outside was crispier, but the flavor is good and it came out super warm. I'm not really a fan of mushy food, so this might be on me really. I got reeled in by the pictures and in my head I kept thinking it'd be crispier like a traditional waffle, but mochi is a little gummy in texture. Despite that, the flavor is really good! I just should've known myself better since I am already familiar with mochi and shouldn't have expected otherwise. This was such a fun experience for me and the kids yesterday. The ice cream used in the desserts is amazing! The presentation of the food and every drink is social media worthy. The food and drink prices were surprisingly cheap. They do add on processing fees which was weird to see on the receipt, not sure why that is necessary.
