Man those are some of the MOST useless workers I have ever seen in my life. It is unbelievable they are being paid 15$ an hour for standing around. The place was empty but there were at least 5 workers around doing absolutely nothing. I had to wait at least 5 minutes for someone to take my order and the lady that took it had the least enthusiastic attitude and lowest amount of interaction I ever got from a service worker. I don't know why they needed this many people because it looked like they had the WHOLE diner rush crew on but they were so useless. The food was good tho! I mean I might be biased because I love Popeyes but still it wasn't bad. The fries were hot and crispy and well seasoned and the sandwiches were also great, hot and crispy, except mine was pretty thin. The place itself did not look clean and made me pretty disappointed. I am not mad at the service it's just surprising to see how useless some workers can be; two of the workers were at the front desk but not taking orders? One was just standing around and the other was taking stickers off of sauces. I don't even know what I just experienced. I walk into the restaurant and it's 4 minutes before anybody is seen behind the counter. We didn't even hear anybody talking or moving around , It just looked like an apocalypse setting. they came to the counter and I understood exactly why it looks like an apocalypse.. I was told I needed to wait five minutes for my chicken tenders to be done and it was 14 minutes. I personally will never come here again and I would highly recommend you make another stop before setting your sites on Chicopee Popeyes. If there's a manager to this establishment, they should be replaced. I've worked in food and hospitality for over 30 years and I would never allow one of my restaurants to be run this way. We placed a pickup order for 20 minutes away. Arrived at location (start of lunch rush, one car in parking lot, no one in drive thru) and had to go inside and wait an ADDITIONAL 20 minutes for the food to be prepared. This was an order that was prepaid. Fries were cold and one order was placed in the carry out bag upside down. Biscuits were stale and we were missing 3 biscuits (didn't notice til we got home). Went today for lunch. around 12:45pm 11/12/2024. I ordered the #5 large. 3 Chicken strips with seasoned Fries and a Strawberry Lemonade. The Chicken Strips were pretty tough, like they were either old or reheated too many times (only plus, was the outside was crispy). The Fries were bland and soggy. The only thing that I was able to enjoy was the Strawberry Lemonade after I added some water to it to bring down the sweetness. This place used to have good food. This food tastes like garbage. The chicken was bland, flavorless and my chicken tenders looked like they got run over by a bus. The chicken didn't even look completely cooked and felt like I was eating rubber with way too much breading. The service people don't like to give more than one sauce. The restaurant also looked dirty and unkept along with the drink machines. Excellent first time experience!!! We went through the drive through and they gave us a correct order with everything we ordered in the bag. The chicken sandwich was thick and crispy and juicy with just the perfect portion of pickles and mayo. The spicy chicken tenders were delightful, thin, crispy and full of flavors. The mild chicken tenders were amazing with ranch dressing and they were perfectly delicious.. the rice was very good with lots of flavor, the mashed potatoes and gravy were of amazing consistency, the coleslaw was very wet and creamy and very good. The biscuits were so light fluffy and very good moisture wise. They were good consistency and not too dry. The soda was cold,icy and full of bubbles. I Doordashed an order from Popeye's because I hadn't tried their chicken. I ordered boneless Honey Lemon Pepper and bone in ghost pepper wings, and a side of Red Beans and Rice. The boneless HLP wings were very good with a fresh lemon taste and not overly sweet. The slight heat of the black pepper balanced the taste. I was a bit disappointed with the ghost pepper wings. They were not that spicy as other ghost pepper flavors often are. The buttermilk ranch sauce was bland and warm. I did enjoy the red beans and rice. Both chicken items had crispy batter and were not dripping in sauce which I like. I would order the rice and beans and HLP again. read more

My boyfriend has been trying to get me to go to this Popeye's location for the famous spicy chicken sandwich. My experience yesterday has made me realize I did not miss out on anything special. Don't get me wrong, the spicy chicken sandwich (I've heard the regular chicken sandwich was too bland) was amazing. I would say it's much juicer than Chick-Fil-A's chicken and I love how it came with buttered bread, pickles, and a light spread of mayo. However, this is where the good experience ends and is the only reason why I am giving this place 2 stars instead of one to none. Upon entering, the cashier made us wait to order because he was packing food. This gave me anxiety because then a huge line started forming right after we arrived. However, he was super nice so I didn't mind. After that, everything just went downhill. He had to give us ice from the back because the ice machine wasn't working. We waited over twenty minutes for our food. My boyfriend had to check on it and they stated that it would be an extra 15 minutes if he wanted just tenders so he just got a combination of whatever they had sitting there. My chicken sandwich was ready about ten minutes before that so it wasn't as hot and fresh when I ate it. The chicken combination of wings and tenders were so dry and bland that I was truly disappointed. The sides were mediocre and wasn't anything to rave about. I would 110% prefer KFC over Popeye's. Lastly, what made the experience a lot worse was the following: The seating area was super dirty and there was still food on them. A couple was boldly complaining about their food and demanding a refund. At first, I thought they seemed too entitled and privileged and should know what to expect at a fast food joint. However, my boyfriend and I noticed afterwards that there were around 8 people working and half of them seemed to be in the back doing absolutely nothing. Lastly, we overheard a female worker complaining about the couple and was not very friendly either. This just made the experience awkward and weird. Who complains about customers at the seating area around other customers? Slowest service I have ever received at any fast food place. I could understand if they were busy or short staffed cause I'm a very understanding person, but when you see literally all the food cooked and ready to be served and you still wait 30 minutes with only one customer ahead of you, that pretty bad. All of the workers including the manager just walk around gossiping and cracking jokes and literally no one serves the food that has been sitting there. Food only started being served when someone lost their temper and demanded a refund and I don't blame them. Last night I went back for 1 chicken sandwich, there was not a single person inside and there was only 1 car in the drive thru and they looked pretty well staffed ass well. After waiting 15 minutes at the drive thru and the car in front of us still had not been spoken to at the speaker, I decided to go inside. To my surprise, I was completely ignored. For about 10 minutes I stood at the register while employees just chatted with each other. A few of them even made eye contact with me and they still ignored me. After a little while a girl finally addressed the same guy in the drive thru that was ahead of me before I came in and said "I'll be right with you", then they continued to chat with each other. FINALLY someone that was chatting in the back says "oh crap, my bad", goes to the front and takes my order. Literally took a few seconds for him to ring me up and grab one if the sandwiches that had been sitting in a pile the whole time. Gave this place a second chance but never again. I read a lot of negative reviews. We went to the Chicopee, MA location today, for dinner. The restaurant was clean, the service friendly and courteous, the wait for our meals was under five minutes! we both had the spicy chicken, rice with red beans, cole slaw, biscuit and a soda. This is our first time having Popeye's food. What a treat! served piping hot, very crispy and fine juicy well cooked chicken. The spice was just enough--even the rice had a little "kick" to it! As we were passing through the Chicopee area we realized that our stomachs were growling so we decided to stop in at this Popeyes location. When we walked into the store there were a ton of people in line waiting to order and it took a little while to get served. Even though that was the case, we didn't mind because it was clear that the wait came from the fact that they were making the food fresh to order. This was different from other locations where the food is sitting under the heater for what may be forever. The staff was really polite and welcoming, but the biggest issue we had with this location was the fact that the dining room was chaotic. The soda machine wasn't stocked with covers and straws, the tables were dirty, and it was a pain to ask for napkins a few times instead of just having them out.
