I really wanted to like my order but there was one thing missing on everything, seasoning. I got the baked potato pizza. It looked fantastic. But it's hard to season once the potatoes are covered up. It fell flat because the potatoes underneath needed salt and pepper. And it was overall dry. It needed some moisture from a white sauce or butter on potatoes or olive oil.. Real green onions instead of jar dried chives could have also elevated this pizza. The garlic romano wings were cooked perfectly, but again no salt or pepper. I couldn't taste the garlic or Romano. Non detectable. And blue cheese and celery are not included. In fact, there's an up charge for a tiny blue cheese which the cashier charged me for but didn't want to give me because he was confusing the sour cream from the pizza. Just an ok from me. The food at Danny's has gone totally 100% downhill. I used to be a big fan, ordering there and visiting a lot. I actually left them a great review on January 1, 2025, but I will say that my last three orders have totally dissatisfied me. I'll start with a burger I ordered a few months back. It was very greasy, and the bun was soaked with juice to the point it was soggy, and the cheese wasn't just softened when put in the oven, it was pretty much liquefied, and it did a number on my stomach. The pizza slices, which I used to die for, are now extremely thin and have a completely different taste. I asked if they changed their recipe for the slices and I was told no. Recently I went there to eat in and ordered a chicken quesadilla. I also got a side salad which was ok. The quesadilla was served cut into fours. It wasn't terrible but only four of the slices had chicken in them. The fourth slice was just quesadilla. Also, to my total disappointment, they used chicken cold cuts instead of shredded chicken to fill the quesadilla with. Talk about cheaping out. I'll honestly say I probably won't visit or call Danny's again. I will end this review by saying that this has nothing to do with the staff. They get 5 stars. read more

I can't speak to any other food except the grinders, but they are by far some of the absolute BEST I've ever had. I was in CT for 6 days this past Christmas season, and we had Danny's grinders three times. THREE. They're all good, honestly, but I was really struck by the Chicken Parm and Eggplant Parm. Get them with onions and peppers - I know it sounds a little weird, but red onions and roasted red peppers really make it. They cram a TON of stuff into the bread, and the bread is crispy outside and soft inside. I did get to try the roast beef, the Italian combo, and the Tuna, and I will say the toasted subs are definitely the best. You really can't go wrong though. The other nice thing is that they are 16" long - sometimes 6" (or 12" if you're really hungry) doesn't do it. And while they're best fresh, reheated is better than anything else I can get back home. Go big, get it toasted, and enjoy. I'll be jealous. read more

It has been several years since my last outing at Danny's and stuck in the back of my mind for several months was their Rueben Sandwich on home made bread. True to form it is one of the best Rueben's around imho, the beautifully grilled home made bread seals the deal for this sumptuous exquisite sandwich. Before my Rueben arrived I had ordered a cup of Manhattan Chowder not knowing what to expect, like the bread all the soups at Danny's are made in house; without question it ranked up their among the very best Manhattan chowders I've had. Danny's tends to make many items from scratch which seems to be a lost and dying art in the casual dining sphere, even their salad dressings are prepared from scratch. Very surprised with this pizza place! I was visiting from out of state and my family brought me here since they are regulars. I wanted a salad and they adjusted it accordingly for me since I wanted add on vegetables. My parents Cesar was delicious to. Both salads were quite big. I shared a small potato bacon pizza with my father which came with sour cream and it tasted delicious and crisp! My mother had the pasta special they have on Mondays and the bolgnese was filled with flavor. The waitress was pleasant and gave great service. The only thing I would change here is to add another quality wine to the menu with their $5 a glass one they already serve. Otherwise one of the bests pizzas in that area! We have wanted to try a pizza from here for some time now. We had pizza here before but it had been a few years ago. A recording picked up my call a few weeks ago stating that no more orders can be taken that evening. I tried calling on a Tuesday evening and had successfully ordered a thin crust pizza. Update: Still enjoy the feel and food at Danny's. Friendly family and employees. The chicken soup was delicious, loaded with meat and fresh vegetables; the salad also very fresh and tasty. I have gotten eat in and take away grinders, prefer eat in since the oil/vinegar and lettuce are put on prior to heating - tends to get soggy by time you get it to home/office. It's easy to be frightened away by their website. I don't know much about "Danny" but if I judged an eatery by its website, I would not eat here. Definitely don't judge if you're looking for a decent meal in Enfield. I've tried their normal crust as well as thin crust pizzas, and tonight I ordered the regular crust. It was crispy and doughy and very satisfying. It was a little on the pricey side at $18 for a large pizza with half-cheese & half-pepperoni. There were 12 good sized slices in the box. The pizza was hot and the pepperoni were cooked perfectly- not burnt and not undercooked. Wait time was longer than average at 30 minutes at only 4pm on a Friday night. (But it's always 30 minutes.) But in their defense, the kitchen is always bustling. I think they probably do more takeover than dine in. I'm definitely a fan. I also recommend their grinders. They're oversized and priced well. We don't order pizza too often but when we do, we pick Danny's. read more

The sauce was bold and did not get lost under the weight of the strong topping's flavor. The cheese was creamy and very stretchy, awesome! The toppings of bacon, ham, and pineapple were abundant. Living 10 minutes from Danny's our order was still subpar to say the least when we got home. All items were requested multiple times to be Well Done.... All items. Steak and Cheese grinder was so soggy the roll was leaking and mushy,if it was in the oven it was only there for one minute .... Meatball grinder also not well done at all - barely toasted and wet... We ordered a large cheese pizza, guess what ... Well Done was requested but it was not even fully cooked.... We did order a salad that was fine. But it was the only thing. After calling Danny's and letting them know that the grinders were INEDIBLE because the bread was mushy and wet - and discussing that the pizza wasn't cooked - they said that Danny would call us back to discuss. We were upset while still being completely polite and not confrontational - we paid a lot for this meal for our family and were disappointed... DANNY never called us and nothing was done. With pizza places on every corner and choices to be made, I would think that any customer would be important enough to speak with, but I guess the lack of response from the owner gives me a insight of how much they don't care about #1 the quality of food that is made #2 their customers satisfaction . Pizza has definitely gone down hill in the last three years. Lets just clear the air here. The pizza use to rock my socks on a consistent basis..but now it is spotty. We stopped going there for a year. A place we once called our "favorite" pizza joint. I did not want to rule it out totally. Living in Somers, CT...it is hard to get a good meal close to home. I decided to give their subs a chance. Why not? What do I have to lose. I got a 12 inch eggplant grinder with mozzarella cheese. Can I say LARGE?! The sub was busting out of the bag. Bread was nice and soft and the sandwich was packed. It was delish. My husband got a Cold Cut Italian. He devoured it. The large sub is just too big. We now order 8 inches for a average price of $7.00 Really worth every penny. They have been nailing these sandwiches every time we order pick up. A roast beef was in the mix yesterday and they did not skimp on the meat. Yum! We have plenty of pizza to pick from in Enfield. We will stick to Danny's for its sandwiches. I don't know what happened to this place. When we first moved to Enfield 8 years ago they were amazing, the best pizza around. But, everything about this place has gone downhill. The first thing you'll notice is that everyone in the place apparently hates their job of just their customers and does their best to be as rude as possible.
