You are making all the right decisions if you are craving pizza and found Pop Pizza. The slices are delicious and they make a pepperoni pizza taste more than a traditional slice. The crust is the right amount of crunchy and moist without being too doughy. The salads though are surprisingly the star. The arugula salad is fresh and a good mix of textures and flavors. The Cesar dressing is also on point. The combo is where it's at.

Pretty daughter and delicious pineapple pizza.

Delicious. The pizza shape threw me off at first. I was expecting your standard Neapolitan style pizza joint. The square shapes are a thing to behold with the mouth though. The cheese is caramelized around the edges so each bite is a brief heavenly experience. This was my first experience with Detroit pizza. Consider me sold. I recommend you try it.

This is a decent spot if you want a quick and easy meal. They serve Detroit-style pizza by the slice or whole. Service is friendly and efficient, you order at the counter and they bring the order to your table, and also bus your table. I got the rabe--my favorite part was the mushroom confit, which they have on multiple different pizzas, I'd love it if they had a pizza with just mushrooms on it! It also comes with one slice of spicy coppa sausage (would like more), and a good amount of broccoli rabe, as well as Calabrian chilis added after they reheat it. It seemed like they tested it for a long time, but it was not that hot, it was just warm. The crust holds up great, it's nice and crunchy, not dense (which I think is a good thing. My dad got the Pop Supreme--even before they heat it up, the pepperoni was burned, so they only got more dried out and overcooked--I wonder if it would be better if pepperoni was put on after initial baking, but before the reheating, but maybe some people like it burned and crispy. The space is minimalist with high ceilings, it was cold on a chilly day, but I imagine it would be nice on a warm, sunny day.

I came by here after stopping at CVS. I just wanted a quick slice as a snack and was glad that they sold by the slices. I had their Supreme slice. I liked that they warmed it up for me, but it did burn my pepperoni pieces slightly. The pizza slice was still good, and I did like their base crust as it was nice and crispy.

Cheese, both salads

Pizza, 7.8, only because it didn't have sauce on the top, so I wasn't sure what kind of pizza it is? If Detroit, where's the sauce? If not it's a great Sicilian. Salads, 9.1 both were delicious, all the individual ingredients came through, nice work. Service, 9.4 just right. Pizza came out hot. Salads didn't have servers thumb in the bowl, not chatty, but friendly. Clean tables and seats. Music was at a great level.

When I order I go in person because I have special requests of extra sauce, etc and everyone who leaves this amazing restaurant always raves about it to the staff upon leaving. The best part though is just how NICE they ALL are! I fly from LA just to come get pizza and some to take back. The crust is perfect chewiness and perfection with the right amount of airy and right about of thin and the sauce is amazing! You will NOT be disappointed! They also fulfill my special requests with ease and a smile! I have told thousands of flight crew about this place as it's right around the corner from our layover hotel. I bid this layover ONLY to get pizza. Yes, I gave up a Hawaii, Cancun and Costa Rica trip for this layover for Mucca Pizza, so that should say it all! So appreciate how kindly they treat you when you walk in the door:) amazing staff and owner.

New York and Chicago are still trying to catch up. But we are in the Pacific Northwest, nowhere near Loui's Pizza or Buddy's Pizza (Detroit pizza staples). So many times, what tries to pass off as "Detroit style" falls miles short. Then came "Ranch" where I stood outside and screwed up enough courage to try yet another Detroit style pizza. The interior was small, one wall lined with tomato sauce cans, the menu was bolted to a wall. The smell took me back and that gave me some hope. The pizza arrived at the table, the wife and I have varied tastes so we each ordered a quarter pizza. Mine was pepperoni, the wife had a veggie. The pizzas looked right, square, caramelized crispy edges, heavy toppings... and then on the side of the plate was this cup of ranch dressing. Duh! "Ranch" obviously has to have a good ranch, right? I dipped my pinky finger in the ranch and took a taste. You would not think one ranch can be so far ahead of the others, but ranch is the place for ranch, as well as pizza. My first bite brought a smile to my face, it was just, right in every way that a Detroit pie should be. I have been back to try their #4 pie with sausage and ricotta, and I am looking forward to more trips. If all that was not enough, the service was friendly, the food came out so quick (about 10 minutes) and the place was nice and clean.

Super fast service and super yummy food…read more I always get their #4 because it's so good. It has Italian sausage, red sauce, calabrian chiles, mozzarella, and ricotta on top. A slice of that dipped in their ranch (they give a side of ranch for all pizza orders) is heavenly. Their ranch is actually the best ranch I have ever had. I wish they sold bottles of it so I can have it at home. They also have seasonal specials, like their pickle pizza with hot honey, or the french onion soup pizza (so good). I would recommend doing takeout as there is limited seating.

A thin, flexible, and tasty-all-by-itself crust. Tomato sauce that adroitly walks the lines between sweet and acidic, and between supporting the other elements well, fading into obscurity, and overwhelming those other elements. The right amounts of the right cheeses. And fresh, tasty toppings. (Sweet Italian sausage not dominated by garlic and mushrooms worth eating on their own, for two delicious examples.) Even better, prices are reasonable, and delivery is available. We had some delivered to our hotel, and it arrived almost as hot and tasty as we would have expected were we at a table near the ovens. There are other pizzas worth eating -- including the thicker-crust "deep cut" slices available before and after select shows at Revolution Hall. The crust needs to be thick but light and airy in the inside, with a crispy, greasy bottom pocked with air holes. The bottom of this crust was smooth, which probably limits how much oil they can use. The sauce was way too thick (about 3/8") and extremely salty. The cheese and pepperoni were ok. Quality of ingredients was good. Overall the pizza was just average, and I would have preferred Jet's. Price was good and 1 pepperoni slice is a meal. I ordered 2 slices and did not finish the second. (For comparison, 2 slices of Buddy's is a meal but I end up eating a 4 square.) Portland is a tough place for pizzerias since the variety & quality is so good throughout the city…read more But for 25+ (35?) years, this little slice-or-whole-pie place in NW 23rd has churned out the tied-for-best pizza in the city. It's true NY style, thin enough to fold if you're walking, the perfect amount of oily, with only the freshest of mozzarella. Slices are available at the counter (and a few stools if you're just having a quick lunch) all day. For a whole pie, call ahead to schedule (503-22-SLICE has been their number since I moved here decades ago) and they'll give you a time generally 20-35 minutes in the future depending on how busy they are. Staff are just like NYC: no suck-up, extra sarcasm, and if you stand at the register for 5+ minutes fumbling with your wallet, they might make a snide comment. But it's endearing grouchy, not really mean, and it adds to the "flavor" of the whole place. Parking in NW 23 is usually very hard. It's now 2026 and I gotta ask, have they stopped completely baking the pizza? I'm pretty sure that if a child drew a pizza with a box of crayons, they would color the crust to be brown rather than leave it white. So I wonder, are their pizza ovens no longer hot enough to create a completely cooked crust anymore? Just, what happened? Anyway, now I always scan the pizzas that are out before I get in line. If there's at least one pizza that looks like a child drew it, I stay. If not, I go.
