Who ever the older lady is that works there is extremely rude and lazy. Didn't want to do any work. My fiance had gone in one weekend and got a quote. Then after work one day he brought me with so we were able to get more details and I was able to tell the sales associate all the details I specifically wanted in the pool (since I was ultimately the one making the decisions) for a more accurate quote. She said she would look for the guy we talked to, about 15-20 mins later we walk inside after waiting and see her sitting with her feet up at her desk talking with workers and scrolling on her phone. We say whats going on. "Oh he left". Great well can you or someone else help us? She refuse to. Her excuse was she couldn't give us a quote, he already gave us one. How does this make any sense. We are looking for different features now. Sit down and give us a quote. Do your job. Talk to us? Help us? Something? Not only that she looked us dead in the face after we already spoke to her and said "wait so WHY ARE YOU HERE!?" SOOOO rude. Her tone with us and attitude was very unprofessional and uncomfortable. We immediately left and decided to take our business elsewhere that night we called a different company after hours they answered and literally showed up to our house at 8pm and made a deal with us. Contract signed. Wonderful experience. Way to lose business pool & spa! Had money in hand and ready to go. So glad we didn't go with them after hearing several other horror stories and bad reviews! read more

The worst company ever. Do not ever hire them, they literally do not know their left from their right. Asked them to install the in ground pool lights on the right west side and the installed them on the east left side. Left hazardous chemical containers open floating in water by my well house (drinking water), left trash everywhere, installed fence panels around the pool backwards, left hand prints in the $10,000 decking around the pool, and screwed up the electrical. Also provided a "free" pool robot cleaning vacuum that was broken within 6 months. When I called the owner about the issues he argued with me and basically told me to deal with it. The sales people are friendly and give straightforward pricing. In fact, the purchase process is a breeze. The service falls apart at installation and customer service. We had multiple installation issues but the biggest one was when our pump burst within 5 minutes of use and started pouring a pool's worth of water all over our yard just 8 feet from our basement. You could say "this was bad luck in manufacturing, how is this an install issue?" Here's how: Had they installed a valve on the ozone machine we could have stopped that flooding issue. Instead, I was talked down to by Bridget (the customer service manager for the company) and told it would eventually stop. It didn't stop. We called multiple times for two days and no one cared. It continued until my yard was mud and until the pool level got below the pipes the water continued to run out. I'm still concerned it will have cause the pool to come unlevel. In the end when I politely asked if they do any customer service recovery (by this point we had bought a pool, a spa, and intended to buy a sauna next) I was told rudely that "the contract covers us from water loss for any reason so no". I could go on and on about the other oddities- late night texts from installers and attempts to start construction at 5am, the lack of communication, the failure to ground the equipment to code or even commonsense levels (electrocution hazard!) them not calling 811 and cutting our internet cable, them failing to tell us about several big added Expenses... but the bottom line is this: These days you're used to mediocre service when it comes to contractors. You pay a fortune and you're just grateful if they show up to do the job. It's become the norm. But what put me absolutely over the edge was how horribly unkind, condescending, disrespectful and disinterested their customer service manager was. We will never be back. Pool school? Buying chemicals? Cold plunge? Sauna? we had plans to keep returning but I can assure you we never will. It became clear that Bridget's entire goal was to shut down any conversation, lie, mislead, and deny responsibility. I'm sure she saves them money in liability and that's what they care about. They took my money 2 months ago and still have not done the work. I have called 4 times for an update and been told "we will call you back after we check on this" and I never got a call back. Today I wanted to talk to a manager and was told "we'll call you back". I said no I will wait and after about 5 min. I was told the wait would be about 45 minutes. I wish I had read the reviews. As you can see from the more recent reviews over the last few years, this company is terrible. We've spoken to numerous other customers who have had similar experiences to ours. In February of 2022, we contracted with Pool and Spa Depot to build a pool in our backyard for $144,000. We've regretted the decision ever since. The salesman, JohnDrydra, knows less about pool construction than I do. He agreed to do virtually everything we asked for in the design and structure, including an electric pool cover. The Pool we have has only a few of the features we requested, as we were told during the building process that they wouldn't be possible. Each time we were assigned a job supervisor, they would quit after a short period of time, and we would be stuck trying to work with the subcontractors who were clueless as to what we had requested to build. It seems that the company only employs salespeople and some job supervisors (although they haven't employed them for a very long time). Everyone else is sub-contracted. You are required to pay for certain services outside the scope of the job, such as electrical and stone coping work, which is fine, except they require you to use their contractors, or they won't warranty the work. These contractors were sub-par, and numerous return visits were required. Their electrician, after many months and many visits, the system still wasn't working, and the breakers would constantly blow. We had to pay a professional electrician to come out and take out the faulty equipment and install the correct one (almost $8,000 on top of the $ 7,000 already paid to the first guy). Dealing with this company is death by 1000 cuts. We were told we couldn't have the electric cover because the pool was too big, so we canceled it. The last tech we had out told us that was false, and we could have easily put in the cover. It had to be done before the coping, though. Now we will have to rip upthe coping to put in the cover and then have it laid again $10,000 on top of the $15,000we already paid. Now, they have refused to honor the warranty on the heater. It broke over the winter because the installers failed to correctly install the bypass valves. They are the worst. read more

My Pool is over a year and half old and NO ONE has EVER SWAM IN IT. My late wife went to Pool and Spa Depot to have them put a in-ground pool in our backyard. She hoped that swimming would relive some of the issues she was having with Chemo. They ASSURED ME that they would have it installed ASAP. My wife wrote them the check for the full amount and waited. When they finally started, my wife had already passed.( ~6 months) I told them I wanted my money back and just keep the pool. They assured me that they would "Take care of me, sorry for the delay, its COVID, Supply Chain. Etc.," . Against my better judgement, but at my Children's urging I went ahead. WORSE MISTAKE I'VE MADE IN A YEARS. The pool got installed, and when it got about half full, I noticed the liner started to sag. The edges at the top started to come away. I called them and they said "You're not filling the pool quick enough!" - I got a second hose to fill it faster. Once it was full I noticed the hoses wouldn't connect to the pumps. I called them again about that and the sagging. When I took pictures, I noticed that the bottom had a lot of wrinkles in as well and I passed that along. I called and made a stink about the liner, they came out. Pumped out the pool into my neighbors' yard. (After I told them to pump it in the street), His excuse was he didn't bring hose. They pulled the liner out and told me I need more sand. Not wanting to argue I went and got a truck load of sand delivered. They put the liner back in. I turned on the TWO hoses to fill it this time. While he was cleaning up and I asked him "anything I need to know? - He said "Its stretched out really bad, you might may have leaks and doesn't really fit anymore. But fill it up and let's see." I asked "can you pass that along to someone over there? I just want this done!" He said Yeah, I guess. (He didn't). They sent someone out to fix the hoses, and I asked about the pump. It wasn't wired to power. So I called Pool and Spa Depot to ask "Do you guys have any recommendation for electricians" she told me "No, we don't do that. Look on Facebook" I found someone to wire it and they told me "This pump has a problem, When I filled the bowl its leaking. It might have been dropped" A gentleman came out and said "Pump is cracked, should be under warranty" that was two week ago. No answer from service. So after a year and half I have a leaky (green) pool. (1/2 full now) with a broken pump. I have my Children coming down in August to have a celebration for my wives' life. - Pretty sure that celebration won't include "swimming" read more

The customer experience has been dismal at best. Other than the nice guy that handled our purchase, I would say these folks need good customer service explained to them. They clearly have no concept of how to properly treat paying customers. At no time has Pool and Spa Depot done what they said they would do. We were told we would be contacted within three business days of our purchase to schedule the installation of the hot tub we purchased. We had to call them on day five to schedule. Then we were told we would be called the day before installation day to get an exact time. Never heard from them until they were at my house claiming no one seemed to be home, although they never rang the bell or knocked on the door. Worked through that, hot tub installed, only to find out they had not made a modification to the electrical set up - one that was noted the day we purchased, more than two weeks before. The only reason I'm leaving two stars is because we do have our hot tub now, even if it's inoperable. I'll update if they don't show up to make this fix when they said they would, which seems to be par for the course with these people. They were the ones to set all of our expectations, and so far they're batting zero. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect P&SD (or any retailer for that matter) to do what they say they will do- particularly when it's a hefty chunk of change that we spent with them. I'm sure there are hot tub retailers in Nashville that actually do keep their word, but Pool and Spa Depot is not one of them. I will never recommend them to anyone. Update: changing to three stars: technician came this morning when they said he would, and we are thrilled with our working hot tub. Would I recommend P&SD now? Probably, but with the caveat that you should be prepared: things may not happen when you think they will, and communication may be little to none. read more

Went to look at pools today. I was so impressed with the quality of the pools, what you get for the price. But what really impressed me, the salesman. He was truthful down to earth, didn't lie, was able to answer all our questions. Last year went to other pool companies in TN and KY. Was not impressed with the others, but everything about Pool & Spa Depot today impressed me. Go with Pool & Spa Depot you won't regret it. Ask for the salesman we had. Salesman was great but gave false promises. We were told 4 to 6 weeks tops for delivery. Six weeks in, we call and they say we would be getting a call soon for delivery. One week later, we call for an update and were told very rudely they didn't have it yet and would get it in by Saturday and that someone would call for delivery and it would be an additional 10 days at the minimum if it was delivered. Person on the phone was rude and talked over me. He seemed very inconvenienced to be dealing with a paying customer and that we should simply wait patiently for a call on a 11k investment. Purchased on April 17th, still waiting for a call on June 3rd. Update. Called again since no one called us. Lady on the phone said they didn't have it yet due to the barge. Asked to speak to a manager. He said "oh we have it" and then proceeded to tell us that they would not deliver for at least 3 weeks. Yet again we were told that they would call us to set up delivery. He also, because he must be aggravated by such annoying customers, shared that the salesman lied and that they would not be hooking it up after the salesman double checked that they would when we bought the dang thing. The absolute worst customer service ever. Promise of 4-6 weeks turned into 11 weeks with no apologies and a bunch of attitude, assuming we haven't again been lied to and someone actually eventually calls to set up delivery. read more

I purchased my pool December 2020. Was told we will install probally February 2021. I told them March would be better , Yes even better my salesperson, Bridget King, told me. I went into the Lavergne, Tn location in February and ask is there anything I need to do, I have my permits and everything, which I was told , No someone will be calling to schedule installation. Mid March I went back into the Lavergne location to ask again, sales person(different person) said no you are good. I called late March and was transferred to scheduling dept( this is the first time I was put in touch with scheduling) Which the lady said we are waiting on 1 component for your Pool( first anyone has said anything at all, mind you I bought this in December 2020) A few other things were discussed with her and Bridget King, the salesperson, which each contradicted the other person. I called again and no one answered the phone. Now it is April 7th and still no one has even attempted to contact me. I have Deck,landscape,electrician etc.. people lined up waiting on this. Just saying people ,If you are planning on getting a Pool this year maybe you might try another company as it has been going on 5 months and I have yet to receive any form of communication from anyone at Pool and Spa Depot. Hello, My industry and career are so that I understand the importance of our feedback in helping perfect the client experience to drive business. My feedback most certainly is not overtly negative, some of the instances that occurred were by chance. The overarching dissatisfaction of my experience was the lack of communication and blatant rude disrespect from your Install Manager Kelley Clinard-Reed. I have remained calm, respectful, and professional in dealing with her because I realize that the fate of my yard and getting this giant safety hazard handled lies in her hands. I will share this before moving on with the rest of the experience. I say this because I had one final ask of your organization that is necessary to complete my project and I have not heard back from her on it. I had to include the generic service email to gain a response. My issues- Called me sweetie and honey. I'm a 42-year-old professional business woman. There's a place for that kind of talk and it's in a waffle house. Cut me off while I was expressing the issue at hand. Talked over me while attempting to let her know I was aware of certain aspects of the install process or our repairs. Neglected to reply to emails and phone calls Responded with phrases such as, "I want to make sure you understand" and "As I've already told you" Maintained a generalized attitude of blame toward me, did not accept accountability for any of the latter, and never once offered an apology for the problems we've experienced. We bought a Stealth, likely not your highest grossing offering but likely profitable due to volume I'd assume. I wanted a shallow pool for a very small yard. Paying customer, nonetheless. We purchased in August. Install occurred over the course of a few days Sept 18-20/2021. The gap was due to rain. This should have been the start of our completion; electrical, backfill, decking/fence. During the final day of install, a storm began, and heavy rainfall ensued over the course of the next few weeks. September had record rainfall. For this reason, no one would backfill in all the mud. Water from the "moat" seeped under the liner causing a huge bubble that when dried was a giant starfish wrinkle in the bottom of the pool. In retrospect and having learned more about the install process I don't think it was a great idea for the install team to allow this to remain on schedule while tropical storms were headed for the gulf, and we had a forecast of rain for the foreseeable future. I'm wondering if this single decision is why I still don't have a functioning pool and am out considerable amounts of money in addition to my projected expenses. Several appointments were made to correct the liner but were pushed out for a variety of reasons. We had electrical handled. Still not being completed we had some drier weather and were able to backfill, but this time it was November. The backfiller broke our light and conduit - not on you I realize- but we did need to purchase a new light, which I did. I was told it would be delivered when the liner was repaired. Meanwhile we had backfill completed by a different company. Trying to get an appointment for the liner repair was quite challenging due to weather heading into winter at this point and other reasons, much of which was lack of communication. The gentlemen finally came to replace the liner around 2 weeks ago. At that time they found that there was a rip in the liner. Well, we haven't set foot in the pool so I'm not so sure that this was something that we did, also thinking that there may have been a warranty on this - nonetheless not wanting to rock a boat and at wits end. I paid the 800 something for a new liner and they were so kind as to waive the install fee. The liner is finally replaced - all is well, pool is full and now I find that the light niche was never replaced as was previously discussed would be done at the time of liner repair. It will be another two weeks now and a 170.00 service fee to have this completed. I want to close in saying that our salesperson, Jake was fantastic, prepared us well for the process and was extremely responsive. Each and every service person who came to our home was equally as nice and helpful and sympathized with the troubles we've had. I appreciated the experience in this respect. I certainly don't expect a response or need to talk to anyone about this but wanted to share my experience and hope it is valuable to your operational leadership. Thank you, read more

They were both very knowledgeable, did a compete walk-thru of the area where the hot tub was going to be placed. They evaluated how to get the hot tub placed safely and with the least about disruption of the existing landscaping. Your serves sucks. first the liner comes undone not bad was their the next day. then after filling the pool up some more we find a leak where the so called install group cross threaded a pipe going from pump to pool. instead of fixing it right he tried covering it up by glueing it. great job. it is going to take yall 4 days to come fix this pool oh by the way the freaking pump is leaking too why dont yall take care of the customers who has trusted you first instead worrying about the new ones read more

I will never shop there again. We first went in to pick up a new pool liner. The crew came out and found rust on the wall of itself. So we went that day to pay in cash for the entire pool to be done. He told us they had to have a contractor come out and look since we have a full deck that going around the old pool. Three weeks later still no contractor came out to look even after calling every day. So I had to get a little nasty with them and then they told me that we had to go in and purchase a pool that day to get it set up for installation. That is what we tried to do three weeks earlier but they didn't want us to pay till after inspected. When they finally did show up is when they finally told us that we needed sand that we were not informed about prior to. They tore out old pool and told us part of the deck had to be removed and how much sand was required. We ordered the sand and removed section of the deck they asked for. Week later they showed up and lied first off on when they arrived as my wife was inside at the time watching them. She witnessed how their mini bulldozer struck our deck. Instead of informing us of the damage, took it upon themselves to nail it back. They are not contractors. Then started assembly Only to realize they didn't bring the skimmer so they didn't finish the pool. That was a Friday I expected them to come by on Monday to finish the job on Tuesday I had to call and get mean with them again. Never once did they say sorry or try to compensate for their error in judgment. This place is so unprofessional from the sales to the incompetence of the pool installers. Ok, so usually I dont leave reviews regardless of the person or the place, but this experience deserves to be praised. Totally impressed would be an understatement! I was so satisfied by the customer service here. All of the employees were super helpful and attentive, and I was in and out with my pool purchase in under 20 minutes. Each pool description was posted clearly, including every detail of the pool and all its accessories...along with the prices right beside it. So you know exactly what you're getting for the price with no hidden fees, and no misunderstandings. The hot tubs/Spa's were displayed so elegantly, and were of the highest quality for the lowest price! Bridgett, the Manager at the Laverne location was super Knowledgeable, she had wonderful energy, and she made me and my family feel warm and welcomed! I would absolutely recommend this Place to anyone looking To buy a pool for the summer or a hot tub/Spa for the Fall/winter. Needless to say, I'll be back in November to purchase a Spa! Awesome experience when we were thinking about purchasing/installing a pool, but once we actually got the pool then the service post-installation has been horrible. When you have never had a pool before and you put a lot of money into getting your pool then you obviously want to know how to best maintain and preserve it for as long as possible! Well this place is NOT the place for those expectations to be met! Bridget is the only staff member there that knows what she is talking about and every other staff member there says something different when you have questions about pool maintenance and upkeep. It's ridiculous and very frustrating. I've tried numerous times to just ask for Bridget when I either call or have to go in the store and each time I get met with resistance and don't actually get to talk to her. We've only had our pool for 2 months and have already had problems with the pool pump and they ended up having to replace it; had problems with cleaning equipment because it was cheap and broke within a few weeks of using it and so we had to pay to upgrade; I could go on and on with a list of issues but I've already wasted enough time with this awful company. Very inept service and employees. The owner expressed interest until it was determined that they could not install my pool until the fall. I had paid 100% in advance. Once I refused to wait until October to install my pool, I asked for my money back and the owner agreed. Then I was told it would be 3 to 5 days before they mailed my check. When I received nothing I called and they said policy was 10 days before mailing. At that time it had been two weeks. I said I will come in and get the check and they said it was mailed that day. I told the owner I was going to post my displeasure online. He said go ahead, no one pays attention to social networks anyway. Oh Contraire Monfraire!!!
