I'm disgusted with how I was treated last night. I've lived in the area for years and have been here many times. Last night I was out with 5 others. We sat for 20 minutes before we had to get up to see if anyone was even going to come over to us. We ordered 3 apps, 2 salads, 6 entrees. I ordered a chicken parm which I had gotten there before. Apps took forever to come out, service was nonexistent. But the part that gets me the most is that when the entrees came out mine was missing and the waitress said oh they made you veal parm by accident so they are fixing it and it will be out shortly. A few minutes later, a plate was placed in front of me. I instantly knew something was off as it did not look like chicken parm. I pulled back the cheese and instead of a breaded chicken cutlet, it was an egg battered piece of chicken like you would get with chicken francese. I got the waitress and showed her and she immediately said oh that's supposed to be breaded! She walked away. Then a manager comes over and instead of just apologizing and getting me what o ordered he started arguing with me! Telling me that he's worked there for 10 years and that's always how they make chicken parm. I explained that I had it there before and it came breaded. He got nasty with me and kept telling me I was wrong and if you want it breaded you have to ask for it that way. Then he took my plate and stormed off. Now if you look at the menu it actually says breaded chicken under the description. And pictures of the same dish on here clearly show it as being breaded chicken. I don't know on what planet chicken parm comes with egg battered chicken. And I wouldn't be as upset if he would've just acknowledged the mistake but instead he was argumentative and then lied to my face. Very disappointed and I will not be returning. read more

I can't believe this place is associated with Loucas in Edison. It's lit up like an assisted living cafeteria. The music is loud and inappropriate as dinner music. But then the food, just like assisted living food. We had an order of chicken franchise and an order of shrimp franchise, no lemon, no capers, just bland. Last night's dinner & experience was so awful that I won't be going back to this restaurant. When the air-headed waiter, who spent about 5 minutes discussing his personal life with us for which we didn't give a crap, knew there was too much salad dressing on my salad, he did not offer to get me a new one. When he noticed I took about 5 bites of my dinner, he didn't think to ask if I'd like something else. He actually said, "Oh you didn't like it." I looked at him & asked, "Do you honestly think I liked it?!" I was absolutely livid that I got fully charged for both items. This goes to show that this restaurant really doesn't give a crap about it's customers. So screw this place. They certainty won't be seeing me again. Went here based on rave reviews from friends in the area. While the restaurant looks nice and the staff is super attentive the food was disappointing. Portions were huge and prices reasonable but everything was super salty. Also, parking can be tough in the small lot. My "good dining" go to lunch place. Food is always fresh and specials are still abundant. I tend to gravitate to their fish dishes. The baked salmon encrusted with horseradish is one of my faves. Had dinner here a few Saturdays ago and was overall very pleased with service and food. Upon arriving at our reservation time we were promptly greeted and seated while we waited for the friends we were dinning with to arrive. Our waitress was also very good. She was friendly, did a good job explaining some of the specials and importantly got all the orders right. The server delivering the plates placed entree in front of wrong person at our table but quickly corrected once we told him the mistake. Food was very good. Are entire table was very pleased with the appetizers, entrees and desserts. I had one if the specials. a thick cut veal chop topped with roasted peppers and smoked mozzarella. It came with mashed potatoes and veggies. The meat was a tad over cooked for me but very edible. It's worth noting than while the serve many seafood items their are many none seafood items on the menu incase seafood is not your thing ( like me ) Also it's a BYOB place so show up with your own wine that they will serve for you. Hosted my sister's bridal shower here and it was a great experience. The team at Ponte Vecchio, headed by Nick, was totally professional and took care of every last detail for us. They set up the room beautifully. Everything ran smoothly, from the wait staff taking the orders, to a a soft music piped over the house speakers, to the delivery and execution of the delicious food. The package included a salad, a serving of penne vodka, and an entree choice, all served at the table. It was more than enough food, with generous portions. We brought our own cake which they served with tea/coffee and fruit platters. We brought our own wine too and they kept the tables stocked with water and wine. There was ample space to place the gifts, and for the bride to open the gifts-- it did not feel cramped at all. Everyone thought the venue was lovely and the food was great. They were also very accommodating with a few changes. Great place to have an event if you don't want to worry about anything that day. We had quite a few snafus along the way including our flowers not being delivered the day before the shower, and invitations needing to be reordered, but the day of the event went really smoothly and that's thanks to Nick and the Ponte Vecchio team. read more

A small little place. The dishes are pricy but the service is good. The waiter will tell you all of their daily specials. The menu is large and has a good variety of seafood, meat, pasta and more. Fabulous olive oil and seasoning hand made by our server. We arrived at the restaurant after 15 minutes of searching for parking, and the restaurant accommodated our delay (my brother could not find a space). While waiting, we were served fresh bread, and another waiter prepared olive oil and seasonings. So many specials, but I opted for the filet wrapped in bacon as per my servers recommendation. Went on night 2 of outdoor seating after covid. All wait staff were wearing masks and gloves, they had a hand sanitizer station by thee hostess table. Danielle was our server and she was amazing. Very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered the mussels, oysters and special mango calamari ( soooo good). Crab cakes delicious and light and the pork chop Milanese was perfect. This place isn't really considered fine dining, they over crowd the rooms with tables and pack as Many people as they can into the restaurant. Reservations were at 830pm and we ordered oysters as an appetizer and they ran out. Someone at my table ordered something else and they also ran out. It's more of an upscale OIive Garden with similar quality of food. You can't really hear the people at your table because it's so packed in there so you're yelling across the table. It's BYOB so that's good. I was unimpressed with the quality of this food. Bland and unseasoned . I had Sicilian swordfish. The vegetables that came with it tasted and looked like the frozen vegetable medley you get from shoprite.. I've had better swordfish. Been coming to Ponte Vecchio since their opening, however not since Covid. Have had many fine experiences over the years. My husband and I decided to return to Ponte Vecchio for lunch yesterday, we were deeply disappointed. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, it came out overcooked, tough and dry. We let the kitchen know and sent it back. Our entrees took what seemed to be a long time. My husband ordered Shrimp Fra Diavolo and I had one of their daily specials Grouper. The fra diavolo looked like it was made from remnants of the bottom of the pot of burnt sauce. We couldn't help but feel this was done on purpose since my husband sent the appetizer back. My dish came out fine, except the three potatoes looked rather done and as if it was from a few nights before and so it tasted that way. My husband had a few bites of his dish and asked my opinion, so I had some and agreed that it tasted burnt and old. He didn't want to send it back, decided he just wouldn't continue eating it. We paid for both meals and told the waitress exactly how we felt about our dining experience. read more

Had a reservation and was sat 20 or so minutes after our time. It took about 15-20 to order. The appetizer was good and came out quickly. There was a solid 30 minutes between finishing our appetizer and being served entrees. All in all we ordered one appetizer and two entrees and were there for 2.5 hours. I love dessert but by the time the waitress finally brought them over I was just over it already. Food was ok. Had a very nice dinner here with a group of 8 last night. The location is in a shopping center which makes parking very annoying on a Saturday night. We looped the lot about 3 times before finding something on the other side of the parking lot. We were seated within 5 minutes of arriving with a reservation and the service was consistently good all night. We ordered a few appetizers and the owner sent out a calamari app, as well, which was a nice touch. My favorite were the mussels- the white sauce they come in is delicious on its own. For dinner I had the baked salmon, which I liked a lot, but I tasted my hubby's stuffed shrimp and that was amazing. Everyone else seemed to really enjoy their food. We passed on dessert, but they all looked fabulous. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu. The service alone would be worth going back for. I have eaten here and also at the sister restaurant Loucas. Both have very similar menus, atmosphere, and service. Let me begin by saying if you are under the age of sixty, you will be in the minority. And for me that says a lot. The menu is not updated at all. It's very standard Italian fare with some good apps. There is nothing out of the box here. All dishes are served pretty much with the same sides. While being good this is nothing extraordinary. The portions are sizeable. I ordered codfish which was good but not great. My daughter's stuffed shrimp with crab meat was tasty. I'm giving this three stars because food is good, and service was good. I can't complain about the quality of the fish or seafood but it was nothing exceptional. This is a safe place you would bring your parents or grandparents to. read more

MY second time here. First time, I wasn't all that crazy about it. This time around it was pretty good. Appetizers were all very good. Fried calamari was light and crispy. A hot sauce and mild sauce to go with it were both good. Shrimp arrabiata were excellent. Fresh mozzarella with roasted peppers ans tomato drizzled in balsamic...very good. My dinner was seafood fra diavolo. Scallops, mussels. clams, calamari and shrimp over a pile of linguini. Big portion and nicely done. The sauce was good, but something was missing and I can't pin it. Wasn't the best I have had, but still good. So far, one good meal and one not so good here. I guess the next time will tell for sure.
