    Grilled Octopus Salad
    Camille R.

Another amazing night at this fabulous restaurant! I make sure to visit a few times when in town! It's a comfortable atmosphere with impeccable service. The food is the main event! Never been disappointed the many years we have dined there. My ultimate favorite is the octopus salad - I could literally have this with soup or salad and call it a day! That is totally impossible to do with the selection of choices they offer..

Went there last Friday night without any expectations, service was fast, from seating to food ordering, everything quick and organized. Place was packed but ambiance was very welcoming and quiet. Food was good , from Appetizers (Antipasto) to main entrees (the swordfish secilian) was great. Definitely on the pricey side specifically for a BYOB restaurant. Will probably return if in the area. Although was pricey it was a good experience overall

We decided to go appetizers only and had a lovely meal. All four dishes were extremely fresh and Delightfully seasoned. It was just enough food for us and left room for dessert! The chocolate cake was rich and creamy as was the house made cheesecake. Price is quite reasonable. Would definitely return.

With so many delicious places to choose from these days, how do you balance value, authenticity, price, and taste? It's simple! Conveniently located in The Shoppes at Old Bridge is a charming Italian restaurant called "Ponte Vecchio" (Italian for Florence Bridge). Upon entering, you are welcomed by a blend of authentic old-world charm and modern decor. There is plenty of seating available, and the staff is polite and cordial. While it is a restaurant and not a diner, reservations are necessary, which can be made via telephone or online at their website http://restaurantpontevecchio.com/ or through OpenTable.com. Although I haven't had the pleasure of dining in, I have ordered through DoorDash many times. I can assure you that tonight's food was outstanding. We started with hot antipasto for two, followed by main courses that were heavenly: Veal Parm over Cappellini and Broiled Stuffed Shrimp. For dessert, we enjoyed carrot cake and a peanut butter bomb. You might think that dessert would raise your blood sugar, but think again! The chocolate was smooth, decadent, and delicious, with very low sugar content--it seemed homemade. The main courses were cooked to perfection, especially the shrimp, which were tender and not chewy. The garlic mashed potatoes were so delicious that my wife nearly convinced me to go out for seconds. If I were to rate this experience, I would give it an A+++. When it comes down to value, authenticity, and taste, Ponte Vecchio truly has it all. You can find them at 3863 County Rd 516, Old Bridge, NJ, 08857, Phone: 732-607-1650.

When we were back in NJ visiting friends and relatives we had dinner at an old favorite, Ponte Vecchio. Ponte Vecchio serves really good Italian food in a nice atmosphere. Our recent visit was just as good as all our previous visits. Started with an appetizer of Stuffed Mushrooms, Baked with Fresh Lump Crabmeat Imperial. Delicious (unfortunately no photo). Our entrees continued the high quality. I had the Berkshire Double Cut Pork Chop, Rib Pork Chop Grilled with Sweet Vinegar Peppers, Onions, Crispy Potatoes and Broccoli Rabe. Huge chop, awesome flavors. DW had the Seafood Capellini, Shrimp and Lobster Sautéed in Olive Oil, Garlic and White Wine, Garnished with Baby Clams and Mussels over Thin Pasta. Another great entree. Way too full for dessert, actually we had leftovers for lunch the next day. Service at Ponte Vecchio is always friendly, informative and as the portions are ample you are never rushed which is a real plus. Like many restaurants in NJ, Ponte Vecchio is BYO and we picked up a bottle to have at dinner. Ponte Vecchio is everything you want in an Italian Restaurant. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Went to Ponte Vecchio tonight to celebrate our friend's special birthday. She had a private room for her guests . Our food started out with appetizers: fried calamari, very tasty and done just right, stuffed mushrooms that were tender and tasty, shrimp in a red sauce with a little kick and eggplant. Our salad was a choice of Caesar or tossed mesculine. The salad was overdone with cheese and brown and wilted. Disappointed to say the least. The choice of main dishes were salmon topped with a chopped tomato salsa, julienne vegetables on the hard side and baby roasted potatoes; chicken franchise that had too much lemon and a pasta dish. Food was fair. Service was very good and professional.

We came to this spot after learning it from Joe Rogans podcast. Thank goodness I listened and actually took this into consideration this time. The ambiance and decor is definitely something you wouldn't expect. You walk in and it feels like a restaurant in the Italian countryside. Rustic and classy at the time. Great spot for formal occasions and dates. Thanks to our amazing waitress (Carmen) recommendations and service for our meal were top tier. For our appetizers it was recommended that we split the Wagyu Meatballs, Caesar salad and prosciutto with burrata. For the second round, we split 2 pasta dishes. Red wine parpadelle with short braised short rib and spicy rigatoni. Both dishes were amazing, however I can whole heartedly say that the spicy rigatoni was the favorite. Only bad thing I can say is that I wish there was more. Even though we had more than enough food, we foolishly ordered. A third round for entree which comprised of Ribeye with complimentary roasted bone marrow, filet mignon, seared tuna steak and Pork chops. All the entrees were exceptional and cooked to perfection. Owner (Anthony) and manager Norman were gracious enough to check in on us, making sure everything was to our liking. The staff here were very hospitable and really made our first time experience a memorable one. Will definitely be coming back with the rest of my friends and family.

I was especially looking forward to ordering the ribeye and lit up instantly when the server listed it as one of the specials. The server shared that he would need to collect the orders for all of our courses at the same time which was fine with me. I actually had more confidence in the timing of everything for that reason. Our server had a delightful energy particularly at the beginning of our visit. After we placed our orders, everything began to fall apart. It did get noticeably busy since we first arrived, but we ultimately waited for our main entrees for over 3 hours. 3 hours. The table ordered the charred octopus and the oysters to start. The oysters hit the table fairly quickly, but then we began to gradually notice how long it was taking for the octopus to come. I had only a slither of the octopus so that I could say I tried it. Everyone at the table raved about the taste. I did, however, agree that their oysters were delicious especially when dressed with a little bit of mignonette, lemon, horseradish and a touch of Tabasco sauce. I'm excited to now report that I am a fan of fresh oysters from the east coast, because apparently the coast matters. The table also ordered the canaletto stuffed with mascarpone, parmesan and another cheese, langostines and lobster with morel mushroom cream sauce, garnished with truffles. I passed on this one also as it was too adventurous for my taste buds; although, their delicious bread and our drinks did distract me for a little while. The restaurant is BYOB, so we had our wine to keep us company while we observed other tables come and go. We eventually asked to see the manager and was told there wasn't a manager on duty which was either untrue or a very poor decision on the part of the owners considering it was a Friday evening. Having someone occasionally check in with our table may have also helped to take the pressure off of the server who may have gotten overwhelmed or decided to prioritize other tables. Having a manager offer a personal apology may have helped us feel less forgotten about. After the three hour mark, we decided this was enough. I didn't have much to eat at this point, but I wasn't at all worried initially since I was there for the main event, the ribeye. I stopped a hostess who was walking past our table and asked for the manager. We were again told the manager is not here but can be called, if needed. I simply replied, "Please do". Shortly afterwards, I noticed our server who at this time was standing by the host stand briskly walk into the kitchen and then return to our table with our plates. I sent the food back which was a decision that was supported by everyone at the table. Let me tell you, that was a difficult decision to make, but I also was ready to call it a night. Our mood had changed, and I truly felt like we were derservant of having the same experience as everyone else that night. Our server apologized for his part to play in the ordeal which I appreciated since I know his intention was never malicious, but unfortunately we had to call this night a bust. He offered us dessert on the house, and our entire meal was comped which we felt was an appropriate resolution. I ordered the Cinnamon Toast Crunch bread pudding which was a favorite. Very good. Jasper Stone is a beautiful establishment with decorative yellow and white floral arrangements throughout the dining area. It is clearly a popular restaurant and has many positive reviews. I regret that I could not have a comparable experience.
