Dr Tran and his assistant Vanessa made my experience of a second root canal over an old root canal a surprisingly pleasant experience. The office is welcoming and very nicely decorated. Everyone was attentive, polite and professional. I especially appreciated Vanessa as she explained everything thoroughly and was extremely kind. Let's face it, most of us don't enjoy our dental appointments. But I can honestly say, I not only had very little pain, I have TMJ which is a real pain when my mouth is open for extended amounts of time, after the novacaine faded there wasn't any pain either. I've never had any kind of root canal without pain, let alone a second one over an old one that had infection. If you're looking for a provide that knows what he's doing, Dr. Kenny Tran is your guy. I was referred to a different endodontist who told me they couldn't see me for another month but I couldn't wait- I had been in pain for weeks! Of course I ran to Yelp to find a provider that could see me sooner. I decided to call Pomerado Endodontics based on the great reviews and despite the negative reviews- hey! there's always 2 sides to every story.. My first interaction was with Lily- she was so kind and did everything in her power to get me in as soon as possible for a consult. She sent me all the paperwork to fill out and they were able to fit me in the very next day. The initial appointment consult was fast and efficient. Dr. Kenny was able to find the problem and explained his plan to make it better. I booked the soonest appointments to get started. The second appointment was a root canal. They made sure I was numb and got started right away. I've had one before and I couldn't believe I was in and out within an hour. The third appointment happened 2 days later-surgery to save a tooth that had a failed root canal. I've never had this procedure done before so I didn't know what to expect but his team explained everything thoroughly. Despite all the work- I managed to survive with minimal bleeding and swelling. My last appointment for this series was to remove the sutures which was just fine. I'm about a little over a week post-op and I feel great. Dr. Tran did an amazing job on my mom's root canal. The staff were very pleasant and professional from start to finish. They seated her right away and got the process started by doing the initial x-ray scan. My mom said the whole process was painless and easy. The whole time Dr. Tran worked on her tooth, he explained everything in detail. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping patients. I was so nervous to go here, because of the few bad reviews I read on yelp. But being able to experience this office first hand, I can proudly say that those 1 star reviews are most likely over exaggerations and are missing so much context in there review. When I first entered, I was greeted so nicely, and they were so prompt with already knowing who I was when walking in. Which means they take there time to actually see whose coming in that day. Not like other offices who give you a nasty attitude and give you no respect. They explained how the X-rays would be needed and why. I've grown up with an acidic mouth so going to the dentist, getting Extractions, Root canals etc. is just a Monday Afternoon. So I knew why they needed them and they were so polite and quick about it. I was taken to the back and the assistant was so patient with me. Dr. Tran nor the assistant look down at me, or gave me a hard time because of my teeth's condition. I was thinking the teeth I had problems with were most likely going to be extracted. Nope! I was referred to Dr Tran by an oral surgeon who told me I was going to need a root canal. I was able to make an appointment right away to see the doctor. The lady I spoke to over the phone asked for my email and sent me patient information forms for me to fill out online. First time I've ever done that for a doctor and thought what a great idea! I can fill out the forms at my convenience instead of having to arrive early to the doctor's and waiting. The first visit was for a consultation. I was warmly greeted by the ladies at the front desk and only waited a few minute before I was called in. I gave them my insurance when I made the appointment so they were able to tell me how much my out of pocket costs were before I saw the doctor. Since it was just a consultation the appointment was completed fairly quickly. The second appointment was for the actual root canal. I was pretty nervous going into the appointment but was at ease once I sat in the chair. I was numbed right away and Dr Tran and his assistant went right to work. I did not feel a thing! I almost took a nap in the chair! Crazy right?! There is music playing in the background and Dr Tran was softly talking to his assistant which kept me calm and at ease unlike other dentists who start asking you questions when they are working on your teeth. Advice: Choose wisely with who you get dental services with! Story: In 2016, i went to a "dentist referral" to do a root canal on my top right molar. They did okay but they didn't finish the job because I remembered them saying that 1 of the roots was hard to reach. Fast forward, i was feeling pain from this same tooth in May 2021. I got an x-ray, and found that same tooth to be infected again so I needed to do a root canal again (frustrating)! I got a recommendation but still did due diligence, and decided to go with Pomerado Endodontics! Pros: -The staff is excellent (Vanessa was on point with handling phone calls, emails, patient check-ins/check-outs, communication)! -The root canal went well (Dr. Kenny is passionate with what he does). -The tooth was difficult to work on (one of the roots was hard to reach, and is angled unorthodoxly but the team accepted the challenge, and succeeded). -I appreciated the extra care done, esp when at the end, we took an x-ray of the tooth to see if it was completed. -2 hours operation, the pain felt relieved. -2 weeks later, fully healed, and feel normal again! I was referred by my general dentist to Dr Tran for a retreat root canal. I'm glad I went!! I have nothing but good to say about this office. It's very clean, the whole staff is really nice, helpful, knowledgeable and caring. Dr Tran did a retreat root canal and it was already retreated by different endodontist about couple years ago. Dr. Tran instantly finds out what was going on and why previous root canal was failed after he reviewed my images. I was on the chair for about an hour for whole procedure. Dr. Tran was so gentle and I even fell asleep!! It's been about three weeks after I got the treatment done. They even called me to check how I feel after the procedure. Came in for a consult of 3 suspicious teeth found by my dentist. Vanessa and dr Tran were very professional, and kind. What really stood out to me was that communication was top notch. It would have been better for me if I had read the one-star reviews before I went. To put it simply, I was turned down simply because I questioned his procedure. As I read the other two reviews, I could see why the other two said that he was very arrogant. I was referred by my dentist and I was there for a consultation. In the initial process, they took me to the 3D scan room. I just questioned why I had to have another 3D scan when I had already taken one at my dentist's office a week prior. Later, I accepted the 3D scan, but the staff member who was helping me was pulled out right before taking the image and they made me wait. Eventually, another staff member came in and said Dr. Tran overheard our conversation and he would not be able to perform any procedure if I questioned his process. There was a feeling that I wasn't welcome because I questioned his process. The staff's attitude clearly showed that. I don't know about the other reviews, but it seemed more condescending and unfriendly. The experience was the worst I have ever had. read more

I went to Pomerado Endodontics yesterday and my initial impression was very favorable. The receptionist was very nice, explaining how the office works and giving me an estimate for the exam. That's great because no one likes surprises. I was then taken to one of the operatories very quickly, another +, because who like to hang out in a waiting room? I had several x-rays with some very high tech equipment and a Dental Assistant was also very nice. Then Dr Tran came into the room to talk with me and perform an exam. I explained how much a particular tooth was hurting when touched, and passed along what my dentist thought. Even with this information Dr Tran was much rougher than necessary in tapping on the tooth with a metal instrument. I asked him if he could skip that step and he refused. It was very painful, which I related to him, he said "well it's only a little pain right?" WTH!? Dr Tran then went on to say (without even looking at the x-rays) that I needed a root canal. When I asked him how he could say that without the benefit of looking at the x-ray, he said "X-rays don't mean anything" (at this point I'm thinking "really, why does every dentist on the planet have x-ray machines then? Why do you have one, why did you get them on me? If they mean nothing why did you expose me to x-rays unnecessarily?"). My dentist referred me there for an evaluation - I could have gotten the same evaluation from Dr Tran by telephone. My impression of Dr Tran is that he lacks empathy, he is arrogant, and he rarely if ever says no to a person who walks in his door. Patients aren't ATM machines, and referring Dentists want an actual evaluation. How could he think otherwise?? My Dentist only referred me there to cover her bases, and thought it was likely my pain was from grinding my teeth at night, and it would go away within a short time. Dr Tran didn't care about what she thought, he didn't care about how much he hurt me, and frankly seemed to be impatient with me because I asked a lot of questions, was apprehensive, and felt like there was a rush to tell me I needed a root canal. I know lots of folks had a completely different experience than me with Dr Tran, and maybe he was just having a bad day. None-the-less, I won;t be back. I will wait as my Dentist thought I should do, and if it turns out I need a root canal I'll go to another Endodontist. read more

Excellent first-time experience with Pomerado Endodontics on Fri 5/31/2019. While most will probably agree that not having to see an endodontist is better, considering the circumstances, I felt my referred-visit went very well. From the first phone call to make an appointment, staff member Vanessa was very thorough yet concise and organized, to the in-office reception (just 3 days later) with Lily who explained the possible work and costs that may occur during this consultation visit. During the visit, dental assistant Susana was awesome, knew what she was doing and explained the procedures well. She was steady, gentle, and focused. Dr. Tran was solid, knows his profession well, explained details at a good level of understanding. He performed the consultation and then the subsequent, approved root canal without a glitch. In summary, while I rather have not had to meet anyone here, but my tooth needed to be saved and things well went. I was referred my dentist and I could not of been happier with Dr. Tran and his staff! During the consult, I had x-rays and was diagnosed by Dr. Tran. I had my financial responsibility explained to me throughly by the front desk. I had 2 root canals on teeth #12 #13 and an incision and drainage of an abcess on my gums yesterday. Before I came in I was in so much pain l, I was taking motrin and tylenol without relief. I called over the weekend and was surprised that Lily was answering calls after hours (made me feel more confident and well taken care of). I got antibiotics on a Saturday and she got me in for the procedure the following Monday. Dr. Tran, got to work to helpe me in no time. Although, I knew it will be painful due to so much swelling and pain I was already prior to this appointment. Dr. Tran tried his best to be gentle and efficient. I would recommend him to anyone, especially my family members, who needs a root canal and it says a lot when I have trust and confidence for Dr. Tran and his team to take care of my family members. I called Dr. Shen at 8:00 in the morning and she took me in by noon for an emergency root canal. I have terrible teeth and her office never made me feel bad or embarrassed. As a matter of fact from the moment I walked in the door, I felt at ease. Lily, the receptionist is extremely kind and helpful and helped me navigate the financial and insurance aspect of the procedure. The assistant and Dr. Shen were so gentle, compassionate, and kind. They were thorough and checked in with me often to make sure I was comfortable. I honestly cannot make enough positive comments about this office. I liked the office even before my visit after talking to Lilly over the phone and surprisingly l was looking forward for my appointment. I was referred to Dr Tran by my dentist. They were able to get me in very quickly. The staff was friendly and professional. I had several X-rays taken to help determine the source of pain I was experiencing. I found Dr. Tran to be less than friendly, condescending and lacking "bedside manner". He shared very little information about what, if anything, the X-rays revealed, and only after I asked if he could share them. He seemed impatient and annoyed with my questions. When I inquired about the concern my dentist had about a potential fractured tooth and the possible need for a root canal, he seemed irritated and responded "that isn't the tooth that needs a root canal, but I'll do one if that's what you want ". When you have a major toothache and in need of finding an Endodontist to relieve your pain and suffering fast, look no further than Dr Kenny Tran of Pomerado Endodontics. Dr Kenny is gentle, knowledgeable and very skilled at performing root canals. I was extremely nervous, but the whole procedure was done painlessly, within an hour or so. My toothache was gone immediately. The post-op recovery was fast and easy. I only took a couple dosage of the ibuprofen for any potential swelling. I had no post op discomfort whatsoever. I was back to my old self as soon as the anesthesia wore off. Lily, the office manager, is also amazing and professional in every way. She worked to get me in promptly. I gave her my insurance and she took care of everything. Because the last thing I needed to worry about, at that moment, is trying to figure out my financial responsibility for the procedure.
