Let's face it, most of us don't enjoy our dental appointments. But I can honestly say, I not only had very little pain, I have TMJ which is a real pain when my mouth is open for extended amounts of time, after the novacaine faded there wasn't any pain either. I've never had any kind of root canal without pain, let alone a second one over an old one that had infection. Unfortunately the crown broke and he was able to offer me a great consultation and referral to the best Implant Dentist in the county to have the post removed so he can make a new crown with his great in house technology. I called Dr. Miner's office on Monday afternoon and the doctor agreed to see me Tuesday morning for consultation and possible surgery. He was able to do the surgery and remove both teeth with the speed I comfort I never experience before. It was just "top, top and pull" and the tooth was gone. Wow, it was amazing and Dr. Miner is amazing and absolutely the best! Today, I'm still doing great, no pain and no bleeding! I think Dr. Miner is the best oral surgeon in the San Diego area. Thankfully, the office was able to get me in significantly sooner due to my pain. When I went in, due to COVID-19, I called the office and they told me to come to the front door and wait. Lilia greeted me wearing her mask and took my temperature and asked me a series of COVID-19 related questions. I was then led to the office and taken to the exam room right away. I filled out paperwork (you can also do this online prior to your visit) and then met with the dental assistant (I'm sorry I forgot her name, but she's absolutely lovely!) After the paperwork, she helped me get set up for the examination and took x-rays for the doctor. This process took 15 mins. The doctor came in after that. He was to the point but friendly. After examining the x-rays, asking me some questions regarding my pain, and then tapping the tooth to test it out, he determined I needed a root canal. I was prepared to do this right away so I could be out of pain ASAP. After I gave approval, the doctor numbed my mouth and literally finished the procedure in 30 minutes. I had to come back two weeks later to have the work completed due to disinfectant being placed inside the area that was worked on, it was as smooth as can be! It took about 30 minutes then, too. I'm super impressed with this office. I don't want another root canal, but if I had to have one, I'd definitely come back here!

Their office is super clean, very boutique and the entire staff was super friendly and helpful. Minus what insurance covered, my portion of payment was transparent and fair. Overall, I could not have had a better root canal experience. Dr. Orton's state of the art 3D image instrument revealed my tooth was in fact infected - an issue a basic x-ray could not reveal. Dr. Orton explained in detail of the solution on how he would perform the root cancel to alleviate the pain and get rid of the infection. The procedure was done in less than an hour with no pain and very minimal discomfort (ask for suction when you need it, he and his nurse are sincerely happy to help).
