No one is happy about going to get a root canal right? haha Well I had to go in for an emergency root canal yesterday. Today I'm 100%! No postop pain or soreness! Let me share that, this office from the staff I interacted with: Ms. Lydia, Ms. Melissa, to the experienced endodontist Mr. Erol Apaydin, DDS MS whom worked on my root canal, it was a superb patient care and service experience. Dr. Apaydin, is exceptionally amazing...and that's no lip service! He was very focused, gentle, tactful, professional, effective, caring and when the numbing wore off I had no soreness, which is unusual after they are stuffing your mouth with necessary apparatuses!! lol, no but really. Meaning that he carefully, gently worked and completed my root canal without any instrument injuries!! And that's huge!!! I RECOMMEND Erol S Apaydin, DDS MS - Poway Endodontics !!!!! read more

A few weeks ago, I was having intense tooth pain. It was the worst pain I'd ever been in during my lifetime. My general dentist referred me to Dr. Apaydin and I'm so glad I went! Thankfully, the office was able to get me in significantly sooner due to my pain. When I went in, due to COVID-19, I called the office and they told me to come to the front door and wait. Lilia greeted me wearing her mask and took my temperature and asked me a series of COVID-19 related questions. I was then led to the office and taken to the exam room right away. I filled out paperwork (you can also do this online prior to your visit) and then met with the dental assistant (I'm sorry I forgot her name, but she's absolutely lovely!) After the paperwork, she helped me get set up for the examination and took x-rays for the doctor. This process took 15 mins. The doctor came in after that. He was to the point but friendly. After examining the x-rays, asking me some questions regarding my pain, and then tapping the tooth to test it out, he determined I needed a root canal. I was prepared to do this right away so I could be out of pain ASAP. After I gave approval, the doctor numbed my mouth and literally finished the procedure in 30 minutes. I had to come back two weeks later to have the work completed due to disinfectant being placed inside the area that was worked on, it was as smooth as can be! It took about 30 minutes then, too. I'm super impressed with this office. I don't want another root canal, but if I had to have one, I'd definitely come back here! read more

I highly recommend this place - Poway Endodontics. I had an abscess tooth that needs to be taken cared of. My dentist told me to go to this Place and see Dr. Apaydin. I set an appointment and went there, only to find out that Dr. Apaydin has retired. Dr. Makadia was recommended to me by the clinic staff and I decided to give him a try. Dr Makadia is patient and he answered all my questions regarding the procedure I was going to undergo. He is very fast with the procedure and the procedure was painless. In less than an hour after I sat on the dentist chair, I was out of the clinic. I thank the good dentist for being patient with me during my procedure. The staff is very accommodating, friendly and professional. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! read more

I had another appointment with Dr Apaydin today for a check-up only. I have had at least 3 prodedures with this Dentist, one including a complicated root canal prodcedure. Dr Apaydin is the ultimate professional and a top notch expert in his field! He explains what needs to be done and will be honest if he decides that the tooth does not need immediate attention. When he worked on the difficult root canal I was amazed at his tenacity to continue working until he reached success which is evidence of a strong work ethic that you want when it comes to your teeth! read more

I've been to Dr. Apaydin's office twice now and both times were very positive experiences. I was referred to him by Dr. Lysander and found him to be very professional. I was in and out of here in a very short amount of time. Just be aware that they do expect full payment up front for what isn't covered by insurance, so make sure you're prepared for this. read more

I am your classic "I hate the dentist" person. I have had everything done from fillings, to baby teeth pulled, permanent teeth, wisdom teeth, and mouth surgeries many have not even heard of. I was referred to Dr. Apaydin because he takes my insurance. I needed a root canal which is something I have not needed and was very anxiety ridden over! I had the root canal today. I could not be happier with my experience. He was very patient with me and truthfully, the worst part was fatigue in my jaw from keeping it open. The root canal was pretty painless, and although I know I will be sore tomorrow....Dr. Apadin far exceeded my expecations. This review is truly coming from a big baby when it comes to all dentists. I went in to see my dentist earlier this week in hopes of getting rid of this ongoing tooth pain. Because my case was a bit more complicated, he referred me to see a specialist, Dr. Apaydin. I spoke with Susan, the receptionist, and she was kind enough to squeeze me in within 2 days. I would be coming from work and was told the procedure should take approx 1.5 hours. To save time, I was able to download & print the 2 forms required for registration on his website. Today, I entered Dr. Apaydin's office and was greeted by the staff who were all great. And to top it off, No wait time! Being that this was my first root canal, I was so scared but Dr. Apaydin helped calm my nerves. He explained the procedure very thoroughly, even drew a picture for me so I would understand. When it was time to begin the root canal, I requested for more extra local anesthesia. Dr. Apaydin must of read my mind because he knew what I was already thinking. We waited for the anesthesia to kick in and I am happy to say that I did not feel any pain at all! Dr. Apaydin and his assistant Lydia were so professional and kind throughout the whole process and I am so glad my dentist referred me. I was able to drive home after the procedure and am taking Motrin for pain. I am thankful that I finally got this tooth issue taken care of and am glad to say that it was a good experience. Dr Apaydin and his staff are wonderful. I was in significant pain (as most of his clients are, I'm sure) and his office got me in the day after I called. Very kind and as gentle as that procedure can be. Very efficient work also. Didn't seem to take long at all.....or it didn't bother me too much to be there. I was referred to Dr Apaydin for my first root canal by Dr Cramer. I was so full of anxiety upon arriving because of all the horrible stories I have heard over the years about experiences with root canals. My experience was the complete opposite and it's because Dr. Apaydin is a very experienced, informed, gentle, caring Dentist. So is his assistant and the front office staff. There was no pain involved from the injections or surgery. He gives the best injections I have ever had. There was pain after the numbing drugs wore off but that is normal and the pain went a way as soon as I took some Advil. I had a lot of questions a long the way and Dr Apaydin took the time to answer everyone. I would recommend his to anyone who needs any dental work done that their regular dentist can't do. I was referred to Dr Apaydin today by my regular dentist for some extreme tooth pain I was having. Dr Apaydin was kind enough to fit me in immediately that day. He was very kind and knowledgeable. I felt confident in his recommendation and treatment. His assistant was very nice as well and she had a very nice, calming bedside manner. His office staff was also very helpful with my insurance information for me, since I was in such pain that was a great relief and help to me. The last thing I expected to find myself reviewing was an endodontist but Dr. Apaydin and his staff are amazing! I was referred to him by my regular dentist for evaluation and specialized care on possibly two teeth. They squeezed me in a couple of days and were very accommodating. All the people in the office were friendly and welcoming which helped with my nervousness. While they were wonderful, what really impressed me was Dr. Apaydin and his assistant when working on one tooth that did need care. He spoke in simple terms, kept me informed and was generally positive. He and his assistant were like a well-oiled machine. They had their own non-verbal communication via hand signals and when they did speak, it was maybe a word or two. She was in concert with him and always ready with whatever he needed. I have never seen such precision between a dentist and his assistant. I did not have one moment of pain when they were working on my tooth and I left there feeling very satisfied and confident with their work. This morning I got a follow-up call from the office, checking to make sure everything is okay and it is. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing such care. read more

Do not go to Erol Apaydin DDS MS for your endodontist needs (root canal). I made the bad decision to go to him because my normal endodontist was out of town and it was an emergency. He did not numb my tooth appropriately, and when I let him know that the work he was doing was causing me extreme pain - the kind of pain that makes you jump out of your seat - he told me "to just hold on and bear through it, that once he clipped the nerves (which I could feel him doing) the pain would be gone." It was several painful and agonizing minutes of him touching the nerve in my tooth root! He claims to have years of experience yet totally failed at numbing my tooth appropriately and did not care in the slightest about my extreme pain. NEVER AGAIN! read more

I HIGHLY recommend Dr Apaydin if you are in need of a really gifted Endodontist. He is knowledgeable, competent and gets right to solving the problem. In my situation, I started experiencing a lot of pain on the right side of my mouth just prior to a vacation out of the country. I was quite concerned about going on the trip with such pain but was also hesitant to get major tooth surgery done prior to the trip. Dr Apaydin's office got me in quickly and left their calendar open following my office visit just in case I needed a root canal. As a result, over lunch, Dr Apaydin, isolated the problem tooth, diagnosed the issue AND performed a root canal! Believe it or not, I even went back to work after the procedure. I had very little discomfort and required only a small amount of painkillers. I was able to enjoy my vacation because of Dr Apaydin's great work.
