She took the time to address recommendations that felt counterintuitive to my oral care and happily educated me on my concerns. When I arrived, the receptionists immediately knew who I was and greeted me warmly--clear evidence of strong communication among the staff. Julie was quick and efficient with the X-rays, and Dr. Rauterkus was refreshingly honest and gave me so much clarity on the issues I've been facing. My family has been long time patients of Dr. David - and we are very satisfied with the excellent services provided by him and his staff. Their advice and recommendations have always been thoughtful and helpful. The entire staff is always friendly and personable, and a pleasure to deal with. I also appreciate that when some problem does come up, his office makes a real effort to get you seen and taken care of as soon as possible. I have a couple of friends who see dentists who still send out crowns to a lab to be made, which makes for a weeks long process. I only mention this because Dr. David makes your crown while you wait and has been doing this for so long I would have thought that all dentists were also doing this but I guess some don't. I have an abnormal fear of the dentist. It has been ongoing for 69 years. I lost a crown and was forced to get over myself and pick a dentist in San Diego. At my cousins recommendation I called Dentistry for all Ages in Poway. I was scheduled with Dr.Cantwell. Let me just say this. His care was exemplary. He was gentle and kind. I had a new crown in one two hour visit. I was very tense but everything was thoughtfully and carefully executed. The technology was top notch. 3D imaging instead of molds, high tech crown creation using the best materials and with one minor adjustment the crown fit perfectly!! I was informed that because of a deep cavity I might have sensitivity to hot and cold because of some nerve exposure. Nope. Tooth feels great and I was eating the same day. I have been seeing Dr. David since the time he was working for another dentist some 30 years ago. When that dentist retired and I found out Dr. David branched out on his own my family and I moved to Dr. David's practice. Both my girls grew up (my youngest is 21) seeing Dr. David and neither one of them had problems going to the dentist. Matter of fact my youngest would ask when she was going again; her twice a year teeth cleanings/checkups were just not enough, she loved going to see the dentist. Why did she like going to the dentist so much? Dr. David and his staff have created a warm and inviting practice... and maybe it was also because Dr. David used to make balloon animals for his young patients. Melissa is my favorite hygienist, she is quick and thorough, but also very personable and I love our conversations (and she so good about not asking something when I have my mouth open and can't reply. Don't you hate that when that happens?) Dr. David is extremely good at what he does. My recent crown replacement went so smoothly and quickly. I was so pleased with the results. I recently had a crown fall off that was made by a different dentist. I went to Dr. David to get it fixed -- he and his staff were so helpful and nice! They fit me in last minute and were able to get a new permanent crown built and installed same-day in under 2 hours. I'm an engineer and I really appreciated that Dr. David took the time to explain the entire procedure and took the time to show me what he was doing and why. Dr. Rauterkus was referred to me by a friend 20 years ago. Both he and his staff are amazing! I finally decided to have the Zoom teeth whitening procedure performed in office. The procedure was approximately 1.5 hrs. I got great results and my teeth were visibly a few shades lighter. My teeth had some sensitivity for 24 hours but otherwise no issues. It`s unbelievable that a dentist has 5 stars! No it is not. I broke my front tooth Friday night, called him and he scheduled me next day(Saturday) in the morning. He came in with a big smile and great attitude despite being a Saturday, by the way they are not open on Saturdays. He fixed it so I could get through the weekend and scheduled an appointment for the next Monday. I met the whole crew there and everyone was very nice and attentive. He's the most caring doctor out there and just so knowledgeable. I had a cracked tooth that needed a crown. The crown that he made is amazing, perfect color, shape, and size!! I was nervous all day because of websites stating that I might get gum infection for things stuck within my gums.. (People, don't rely too much on websites and go to the real professionals!). So immediately, Of course, I scheduled an appointment with the nearest dentist. Honestly, starting from the phone call to real treatment--it was all so pleasant! It was oddly calming to be around these people. I was nervous and a bit agitated because of my gums but they were so helpful in every way. They were all so incredibly caring and sweet! Made me want to have cavities just so I could visit them more often! Lol...jk. Really. I currently have another dentist but have decided to change just simply and actually most importantly because I trust these guys way more. These guys are definitely professionals. I've been going to Dr. Rauterkus for years and love seeing him and his staff. They do a great job and all their equipment is very up to date with technology. The staff always remembers me and makes you feel comfortable when coming to the dentist is definitely not my most favorite thing in the world. They also do great discount specials for the Zoom whitening, which I've done a few times now. Definitely works better than white strips and you can watch Netflix while you wait!
