My family had dinner here before our "Brian Setzer Christmas Rocks" performance. They were extremely busy when we arrived, but were very kind and said they could fit us in at the island by the bar. The ambience is very nice and spacious, and rather upscale considering it's in a casino. The bread basket arrived and the bread and breadsticks were very tasty. Chilled water was served straight from a fresh bottle. Our waiter, I believe his name is Antonio, was so very kind and attentive. I am vegetarian and asked for his suggestions. He offered an off menu plate the chef had just recently begun serving consisting of mushroom risotto and freshly grilled vegetables. I expressed interest and he went off to inquire what the price would be, quickly returning to quote me $16. This was on par with most entrees which were average range other than the steak selections. I was very pleased with my meal. The risotto had just the right amount of richness, and it was served with slices of grilled seasonal squash. It was a very pretty presentation, and I think they should add it to the regular menu. All in our party enjoyed their selections. My only gripe was the diners next to me. Their conversation was too loud, non-stop, and they didn't really seem to care that it might be intrusive to those nearby. The diner right next to me had a very strong salmon dish, which just added to my wishing we had a table. I reminded myself we were lucky to be seated at all. We had no time for extra drinks or dessert, and once we explained to our waiter we had a show to get to and requested the check, he was on it and it was there in a flash. Overall I would have given 4 stars but they get the extra bump due to the waiter making the extra effort to provide me the off menu vegetarian choice. read more

After playing slots for awhile i came here to have dinner at around 10PM (closes at 11PM) I ordered the Turkey Dinner ($16) which includes Mash Potatoes,Stuffing,Vegetables and Cranberries. The food was excellent and the portion size was enough to take left overs home. The veggies had a great flavor to them and i ate those up like candy. I'm a huge cranberry lover so i gobbled (excuse the pun) it up in no time. We began with the calamari and the crabmeat and avocado cocktail. The calamari was crisp. and chewy and plenty to share. My cocktail (see photo) was refreshing and delicious. The crabmeat was held together with an innocuous binder and the avocado was ripe and silky. Will DEFINITELY order that again! The bread basket comes with rolls and breadsticks which are very yummy and easy to fill up on. For main courses, hubby got fettucine alfredo with shrimp and I got the chicken with artichoke pomodoro. WARNING: they put garlic in their Alfredo sauce (which, if you know the story behind the sauce), ought not to be there. Unfortunately, it happens all too frequently. My penne pasta was cooked slightly past al dente, but was by no means mushy. The sauce was chunky with mushrooms, tomatoes, sweet red pepper strips as well as the chicken and artichokes. Very fresh and flavorful and sized to share. For dessert, we shared the chocolate mousse cake. Do yourself a favor, be sure to request it WITHOUT the coulis garnish! IMHO, the strawberry flavor detracts from the whole chocolate experience. Aside from that, the cake was moist and the mousse was fluffy and it was very chocolaty withojt being too much. I went here twice; once for dinner alone and once for lunch with someone, and both times, I had to hound someone down to take my order, even though they were perfectly staffed and not busy. Had the shrimp salad the first night and it was too pretty to eat! The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and veggies were fresh! And their bread bowl contains thin bread sticks, which complement the salad for sure! For lunch, I tried the fish tacos- not bad! Attention ladies & gents - there are NO nice dining places in Indio so your options to sitting down for a nice meal are limited to the casinos. Oh and Jackelope Ranch who has breath taking ambience but the worse food. So being that said, Fantasy Springs has 2 nice places to dine with a variety of options on the menu. Bistro is AMAZING but way expensive so if you have the bills, go straight there & it's best to make a reservation because it no secret! Oh and the banana foster dessert for days every single day please! OMG! Now the POM is pricey too, but not as bad so you can take a date there without feeling cheap & even dress nice without feeling overdressed. I say this because you are in Indio - no where to dress up for. The food is hit or miss but they always have great customer service to correct any problems you might have like overcooking etc. and a place that is willing to correct their mistakes without attitude, I applaud. Customer service from start to finish was incredible. The hostess at the top of the stairs was friendly and helpful, made the special birthday arrangements my sister asked her to do so when I arrived she knew exactly who I was. The team had staff signed Happy Bday card waiting on the table for me. The busser, Issac was friendly and helpful, he was so good & seamless with his clearing and water refills. Bobby, our server was incredibly knowledgeable, super friendly and made us feel like we were VIP. The culinary staff should also be given 5 stars because the food was incredible from warm fresh bread and butter, salad, entrees and truly mouth watering desserts. From our group of 4, the only suggestion would be to have bit more light or provide each server a small flashlight to offer guests if needed to read the menu. Food portions were large and taste delicious. The offering of birthday dessert choice was truly the " cherry on top". There is also a reason the peach Margarita is so popular! Service when present was good but he was spread too thin. I'd like to start off with the staff, and say they were absolutely amazing!! From the bus boys, to our server they were fantastic! We had dinner reservations and they let us sit outside. The service made our meal that much better! We had the calamari with pesto aioli which was to die for, great bottle of wine for just $25 for the bottle you can't beat that! Then our food came out I had the special which was 2 petite filet mignon's with garlic mashed potatoes that was amazing and she got the seafood scampi which was equally as delicious! First of all. Can you say A+ Michelin Star service! From the moment we walked in, from the hostess to our waiter and everyone in between. We had at least 2-3 mangers or leads that kept asking us if we needed anything plus our personal waiter. Very impressed. We weren't that hungry so we had 3 of the small plates and a pitcher of Sangria(excellent). We didn't get any side eye for only ordering "appetizers". Everyone was so polite and great. Had the chile verde nachos(need to upgrade the chips in general to authentic mexican chips not bulk pale chips), Chile Gueritos(so good but wish we had 4 vs 3 peppers), and the wings(excellent, no complaints!). Sangria was refreshing and great recommendation by our waiter Jose Q. Food overall deserves 3.5-4.5 stars but I will gladly look over the food with the service that was provided by all of the staff. Sous Chef Melvin Yuen creates some of the most delicious sauces we've had on our world travels. The executive chef is a winner, every dish is flavorful and delivered to perfection. I must preface. Service was 5 stars. Both our waitresses were excellent. Given that we only had 45 minutes to eat before the John Legend concert, they knew when to bring our bill, pace our food, and get us through the side door directly to the theatre. "Quite honestly, this place is one of the best in the valley." :-/ Oh really. The chef seems like he watched too many episodes of Top Chef and decided that more is well... more. Adding many sauces and stacking your food does not equal fine dining. We ordered a couple of small plates to share given our time restraint: Calamari - It's a staple right? They topped it with mayo, over crusted the already dry calamari and 'artfully' arranged it on a bed of marinara sauce. Then sprinkled a handful of herbs on it. Hmmmm. Ceviche - Oh. I didn't realize ceviche stood for 'trio of crudo'. We have some tortilla chips in one corner, a couple marinated whole shrimp in the next, salmon topped with dill mayo in the other, and lastly, ahi tuna chunks? in teriyaki? Is this a twisted version of ahi poke? The best thing on the 'plate' was the shrimp and even that was stretching it. You can tell old shrimp from the limp shell.. Mussels in white wine: Huge portion of undersized, overcooked mussels in ..... marinara sauce? Oh. Fries: French fries were normal. Thanks. OK. So maybe I won't ever come back here again. Or to Indio for that matter but seriously? This is not a 4.5 star place. This isn't even a 3 star place. I applaud the chef's efforts for a creative menu but creativity does not sacrifice taste. I recently stayed at Fantasy Springs for about three weeks, and ate at every one of their restaurants, multiple times. Clearly that makes me an expert! I have to say - the POM is the best restaurant here. The prices are really reasonable, and the food is fantastic! Every single dish I ate here was delicious. Their morning smoothies are fantastic - ask for them in a to go cup, because they are huge! That way you can take it with you, no pressure to finish. For my east coast friends, they have a PORK ROLL sandwich on the menu! And it comes with tater tots! Their bacon is bizarrely phenomenal, and I found myself eating it for every meal. Side of bacon in the morning, BLT for lunch, and Bacon Mac N Cheese at night. I kind of danced all over the menu during my stay here, and I can honestly say that everything I had really was delicious, much to my surprise. My only complaint - the service is slow, and they always seem understaffed. I came for breakfast with my husband one Saturday morning, and it felt like an eternity before our order was taken. The older woman next to us waited over 20 minutes before her order was taken. That's crazy! The restaurant wasn't even busy!! That is the only thing holding me back from a 5 star review. However, when you do get your server, they are incredibly nice, professional, and take care of all of your requests. The POM rocks. read more

It was so loud we couldn't talk and then the strobe lights started. The manager could see we were uncomfortable and moved us to a different table. They should rethink this. If you're going on a Friday or Saturday, you might want to request the main dining room. They have a very innovative menu, I had ice cold milk with chocolate chip cookies for desert.
