Sure enough she had used my card to other persons orders and charged me another $25.25. Manager said she mistakenly swipe my card twice and should get $25.25 back. Look at my bank few hours later instead i got $20.56 back. Watch out people, this restaurant over charge for no reason. And the chicken are sometimes undercook. Smh!! Never again will be going back. I love this restaurant and that avocado salsa. I get the five tacos and just sit there and watch my tele novellas. Life couldn't be any better. The marinated for the al pastor is not the best but for fast food tacos, not so bad. I am not saying great for tacos but pretty good for fast food. I don't know of many real good Mexican taco restaurants in Dallas but this el Paisanos near Love field are my favorites. read more

I come here for the roasted/grilled Chicken, salsas are good, place is clean, chicken can be hit or miss, the only problem I run into from time to time, is timing, chicken is obviously made at certain times, and then sits and waits in a oven to keep it warm, but it dries out the chicken. I did sample most of the salsas on the bar. The creamy, fiery green sauce was very interesting. I wished I had ordered something to put it on. I may go back and try the chicken. This place is a hidden gem. I have passed buy this place numerous times. I finally tried it. This is your typical authentic Mexican Fast food places you find in South Texas. I tried the chicken tacos and taquitos; they were a little greasy, but outstanding. What can you expect, this is fast food! I loved the salsa bar...the yellow habanero sauce was superbly hot, just the way I like it. They had a lot of other salsa, onions, and jalapeno choices. When in a ordered. The tea dispenser had no tea...sweet or unsweet. So, I tried the diet Pepsi...only water came out. So, I sat down and waited for my food. After 20 minutes, I went up and asked for a refund. They never asked why. They seemed to not be concerned at all. After about 7 or 8 minutes longer, a girl came back to the cash register and processed my refund and said, "here." I was not rude in any way at all. I even asked them at the end if I did something wrong...they just looked at me and smiled. So, I have no idea why I never got my food. Had our first and last visit today. First, why do they need multiple bug zappers? Also, we saw at least two dead flies. One of the AC vents were dipping in the dining room. I don't know if it was from the AC or the rain. The atmosphere was rundown and not very clean. Also, the booths do not have enough leg room to sit more than 2 people without stepping on each other. Now to the food. One of us had the quesadilla - a little burned - below average. Another had the half chicken - didn't finish it because it was too dry. I had the Monterey Chicken. I always have the half chicken special, which consists of rice and beans, half a roasted chicken, onions, and a drink for around $8.30. I rolled up to El Pollo Regio not knowing what to expect. I was really in the mood for Al Pastor and to my delight they had 5 tacos for around 6-7 bucks but it also came with onions, cilantro, grilled onions, two types of salsa and lime. The Al pastor was delicious, there was a hint of cinnamon or some kind of sweet spice in them. I also had to try their "famous" chicken. I love this place. This location is great. What ever they use to make that rice taste so good, makes me want to visit often. Chicken is so tasty. And the green avocado salsa is to die for. Came here to get my daughter the soup. She loves it. I go to the drive thru. I order the soup, receptionist says they have to check if they have any, he says they do. I pull up to the window and say they just ran out. I would believe him if I didn't see it on the counter. I order the soup all the time and I know what it looks like. Never coming back to this location. I've had issues with this location before. I always ignored it because it was on my way home. They have a smaller portion that's not on the menu, so you don't have to get the half a chicken. But you may want to since its so good. Beware the hot sauce, it is actually hot. I lived in California for a while and was a big fan of El Pollo Loco. After passing El Pollo Regio 10000 times I thought I would stop in and try them. The food is out of the world. When I walked in the women behind the counter were friendly and welcomed me. I got the one chicken family meal to go. The wait was not bad and the food was hot. When I got home the food was top quality. The chicken was moist and seasoned right. The sides were hot and fresh. I would consider El Pollo Regio a hole in the wall place that is a must stop for anyone who wants a great Mexican meal at a great price. I will be returning very very soon. read more

I'd say 9 times out of 10 the chicken is moist and fresh, I have only one experience where the chicken really lacked luster and was dry. The caramel stuffed churro are delicious as well. read more

It was lunch and I saw this place up ahead so I stopped in for a peak. It's a small building with a cozy interior. Lots of yellow and orange. Once you walk in the registers are right at your left which is nice. There was a flat screen TV with futbol on. The food was only okay. I got a chicken burrito of some sort. Imagine the size of a Chipotle burrito, but filled with nothing but shredded chicken for less the price. It sounds good, until I tell you that there's nothing else in the burrito, and the burrito was "glued" shut with sour cream. Whoever made it also glued the aluminum foil shut with sour cream (what the heck?). So when you opened it the sour cream got everywhere. This was extremely annoying to deal with. The food also came with a little container of picked peppers and carrots. I'm sure it's good pretty authentic or decent food since most of the patrons there were Mexican, but it might've been a little bit too authentic for my palette. That burrito was dry as hell, devoid of salt and sour cream was dripping everywhere. I still need salt and tomatoes and sour cream on my food. I think I'll settle for Tex-Mex. read more

Love love love their half chicken dinner. Chicken can be a bit greasy but has such a wonderful flavor who cares if you need a few more napkins. Have never been inside. This is a fast food drive through restaurant for me. Chicken is served with Mexican rice, beans and some of the best tortillas ever! It's a regular stop on those nights I don't want to cook but still want food that's not "Fast food" like burgers etc. if you happen to be driving by when the chicken is cooking, the smell alone will pull you in!! My Spanish is not great and the employees Spanglish is a bit iffy, but we make do without any problem. I'm sure they get their laugh of the day when I try to order in Spanish. They've actually been teaching me Spanish when I go there because I'm there so much and it's become part of the fun of going. Don't worry if you don't speak Spanish, they'll understand you just fine.
