I used to get food here on a regular basis. Been disappointed lately. Always have cut bones in the chicken. Ordered Quessadellias today and they were not good. Over done tortilla hard cheese, very little chicken ... again with bones. I forced down a couple and threw the rest away. read more

Horrible service! Was at the drive through waiting over 15 minutes. I got my order a simple order just loaded nachos and they gave me just lettuce read more

Used to eat the tostadas there, and were always great. Had asado, and pastor tacos today, worse tacos I've ever had. Meat was chewy, and old. Looked like heated up yesterdays pastor, and beef, it was terrible. Never going there again. read more

Went to order two items #4 Chicken flautas and #8 corn tacos mixed plate. Which rings at $20.56. The girl name Saira B took her too long to hold my debit card, was wondering why? Sure enough she had used my card to other persons orders and charged me another $25.25. Manager said she mistakenly swipe my card twice and should get $25.25 back. Look at my bank few hours later instead i got $20.56 back. Watch out people, this restaurant over charge for no reason. And the chicken are sometimes undercook. Smh!! Never again will be going back. Horrible!! read more

I love this restaurant and that avocado salsa. I get the five tacos and just sit there and watch my tele novellas. Life couldn't be any better. The marinated for the al pastor is not the best but for fast food tacos, not so bad. I am not saying great for tacos but pretty good for fast food. I don't know of many real good Mexican taco restaurants in Dallas but this el Paisanos near Love field are my favorites. read more

I was quite disappointed after reading all the positive Yelp reviews. The chicken was quite dry for us. The torta with pork in it was better, but still nothing to rave about. There are definitely other places I'd rather go that are closer to my house if I want some chicken (e.g., Los Compadres Super Pollo). read more

I come here for the roasted/grilled Chicken, salsas are good, place is clean, chicken can be hit or miss, the only problem I run into from time to time, is timing, chicken is obviously made at certain times, and then sits and waits in a oven to keep it warm, but it dries out the chicken. Or other times it get grilled to much and you get chunky burned pieces, plus chicken is small compared to other places read more

Don't like the sides and chicken is pre-cooked and wrapped in paper so the skin is soggy.

I ordered the Mole Enchiladas and just wasn't impressed. The chicken was chewy, the mole was watered down out of a jar. There wasn't enough rice and beans served to tell how good they were. I did sample most of the salsas on the bar. The creamy, fiery green sauce was very interesting. I wished I had ordered something to put it on. I may go back and try the chicken. Restaurant was loud and every available space was covered in ads for the specials, etc. I wanted this place to be better. read more

Pollo Regio - Mole Chicken Enchiladas - Mexican Near Me - Plano, Texas

This place is a hidden gem. I have passed buy this place numerous times. I finally tried it. This is your typical authentic Mexican Fast food places you find in South Texas. I tried the chicken tacos and taquitos; they were a little greasy, but outstanding. What can you expect, this is fast food! I loved the salsa bar...the yellow habanero sauce was superbly hot, just the way I like it. They had a lot of other salsa, onions, and jalapeno choices. Definitely a place to eat at it if you want that authentic Mexican fast food fix. read more

The chicken is good, but not good enough for the prices they charge. It's not the cleanest inside, and needs a major update. Don't let the great smokey smell draw you in. Employees were very friendly, but acted like they never seen a white guy in the place. read more

omg the chicken is heaven. also I try the tacos al pastor (pork )and barbacoa briquet are they out of this word. the salsa bar is big and have fresh limes. read more

Pollo Regio - Best chicken in Plano Tx - Mexican Near Me - Plano, Texas

When in a ordered. The tea dispenser had no tea...sweet or unsweet. So, I tried the diet Pepsi...only water came out. So, I sat down and waited for my food. After 20 minutes, I went up and asked for a refund. They never asked why. They seemed to not be concerned at all. After about 7 or 8 minutes longer, a girl came back to the cash register and processed my refund and said, "here." I was not rude in any way at all. I even asked them at the end if I did something wrong...they just looked at me and smiled. So, I have no idea why I never got my food. Obviously, I wouldn't recommend this particular Pollo Regio...14th Street in Plano, TX. read more

Had our first and last visit today. First, why do they need multiple bug zappers? Also, we saw at least two dead flies. One of the AC vents were dipping in the dining room. I don't know if it was from the AC or the rain. The atmosphere was rundown and not very clean. Also, the booths do not have enough leg room to sit more than 2 people without stepping on each other. Now to the food. One of us had the quesadilla - a little burned - below average. Another had the half chicken - didn't finish it because it was too dry. I had the Monterey Chicken. Good flavor but rubbery. Now of it outright terrible but the grilled chicken across the street at KFC is much much better. read more

Let me start by saying, I am a sucker for HOT food (temperature wise). Everything in my order was hot and prepared wonderfully. I got the half chicken and quesadillas. This was my first time ever going to a Pollo Regio, so they definitely made a great first impression! The young lady taking my order was also patient with with me even when I kept changing things up. She would constantly repeat my order to me to make sure we were on the same page. I'll be back and I hope they don't disappoint! read more

Chicken was ok but great lill salty. French fries they just poured that salt on there beans I expected real charo beans lol rice was good that's about it. Wouldn't buy again if I was in town. Pollo loco better. read more

I used to drive by this place all the time but the logos in Spanish always intimidated the heck out of me. Is that mildly racist? Anyway, I finally got the balls to go in and pick up some chicken (good 'ol combo #1) for dinner. Oh, man! My wife and I were instantly hooked--smoky, savory, just a little hint of spicy. And great value for the price. Excellent beans and rice. And this amazing spicy green sauce--don't know what it is and don't need to know. It just works. This is the real deal, folks. read more

Food is a 5! I loved the food. The service is pretty bad from my experience. The workers are not friendly and I heard nothing but cussing and complaining from the workers about the customers (they weren't talking about me, I just overheard it from the drive thru.) I will continue to go there and eat because the food is 100% worth it... but this location, as a company from what I can tell, needs a lot of help with customer service. read more

One of my go-to spots for lunch. I love the chicken, so moist and flavorful. I get the 2 piece special for $5.49. The aquacate-spicy guac salsa is so delicious. Sometimes the staff may not understand your english, and it can get crowded inside if you don't go through the drive through. read more

I rolled up to El Pollo Regio not knowing what to expect. I was really in the mood for Al Pastor and to my delight they had 5 tacos for around 6-7 bucks but it also came with onions, cilantro, grilled onions, two types of salsa and lime. The Al pastor was delicious, there was a hint of cinnamon or some kind of sweet spice in them. I also had to try their "famous" chicken. Let me tell you, it was like the chicken you get at a backyard BBQ perfect skin, juicy and tender. I am definitely going back to get more chicken. read more

I have to say that this is one of the best "fast food" places in my area because of how cheap and good the food is. I always have the half chicken special, which consists of rice and beans, half a roasted chicken, onions, and a drink for around $8.30. Seriously, just a bit more than a footlong at subway and soooooo good. I try to come here a couple of times of week, they have a drive thru, and most people that eat are Mexican so you know it is legit. read more

The food here is really good and my mom is obsessed with this place. The chicken is really good and I like the green hot sauce.

Thank you yelpers! Love this place, and never would have tried it before yelp....as it doesn't look like anything you want to randomly venture into. Awesome chicken. I will never settle for anything less now having tried theirs And the first time I had ever had a churro (?)..the delicious fried sugar goodness, and.....With caramel? Oh.my.god. Dios mio!!!! read more

I love this place. This location is great. What ever they use to make that rice taste so good, makes me want to visit often. Chicken is so tasty. And the green avocado salsa is to die for. They have an extensive salsa bar. And Even Chips when you eat inside. I love going in and eating in their dining room. Super clean. We recommend this place to everyone. They serve charro style beans that are spiced to perfection. Bravo read more

Good stuff. I was brought here by a coworker and couldn't have been happier. I got the chicken and it was awesome. They have a smaller portion that's not on the menu, so you don't have to get the half a chicken. But you may want to since its so good. Beware the hot sauce, it is actually hot. The only complaint I had was that I went through 4 plastic knives. The damn things just kept breaking. They could use to invest in some heftier plasticware. read more

Decent food but the price is high. I prefer the tacos across the street at Las Angela's.

Came here to get my daughter the soup. She loves it. I go to the drive thru. I order the soup, receptionist says they have to check if they have any, he says they do. I pull up to the window and say they just ran out. I would believe him if I didn't see it on the counter. I order the soup all the time and I know what it looks like. Never coming back to this location. I've had issues with this location before. I always ignored it because it was on my way home. Never again, I rather go 5 miles out of my way to one of the better location. read more

I lived in California for a while and was a big fan of El Pollo Loco. After passing El Pollo Regio 10000 times I thought I would stop in and try them. The food is out of the world. When I walked in the women behind the counter were friendly and welcomed me. I got the one chicken family meal to go. The wait was not bad and the food was hot. When I got home the food was top quality. The chicken was moist and seasoned right. The sides were hot and fresh. I would consider El Pollo Regio a hole in the wall place that is a must stop for anyone who wants a great Mexican meal at a great price. I will be returning very very soon. read more

I always get the half chicken with rice and corn tortilla. The guacamole is awesome at the little sauce bar. I'd say 9 times out of 10 the chicken is moist and fresh, I have only one experience where the chicken really lacked luster and was dry. The caramel stuffed churro are delicious as well. read more

It was lunch and I saw this place up ahead so I stopped in for a peak. It's a small building with a cozy interior. Lots of yellow and orange. Once you walk in the registers are right at your left which is nice. There was a flat screen TV with futbol on. The food was only okay. I got a chicken burrito of some sort. Imagine the size of a Chipotle burrito, but filled with nothing but shredded chicken for less the price. It sounds good, until I tell you that there's nothing else in the burrito, and the burrito was "glued" shut with sour cream. Whoever made it also glued the aluminum foil shut with sour cream (what the heck?). So when you opened it the sour cream got everywhere. This was extremely annoying to deal with. The food also came with a little container of picked peppers and carrots. I'm sure it's good pretty authentic or decent food since most of the patrons there were Mexican, but it might've been a little bit too authentic for my palette. That burrito was dry as hell, devoid of salt and sour cream was dripping everywhere. I still need salt and tomatoes and sour cream on my food. I think I'll settle for Tex-Mex. read more

Love love love their half chicken dinner. Chicken can be a bit greasy but has such a wonderful flavor who cares if you need a few more napkins. Have never been inside. This is a fast food drive through restaurant for me. Chicken is served with Mexican rice, beans and some of the best tortillas ever! It's a regular stop on those nights I don't want to cook but still want food that's not "Fast food" like burgers etc. if you happen to be driving by when the chicken is cooking, the smell alone will pull you in!! My Spanish is not great and the employees Spanglish is a bit iffy, but we make do without any problem. I'm sure they get their laugh of the day when I try to order in Spanish. They've actually been teaching me Spanish when I go there because I'm there so much and it's become part of the fun of going. Don't worry if you don't speak Spanish, they'll understand you just fine. I've never had them get an order wrong! read more
