This place is really, really awesome. Each entree can easily be split. Tacos al Pastor? Fair warning, the order comes with six tacos, spicy avocado sauce (and yes, it's on the side you spice-phobes), a roasted jalapeno, half a lime, grilled onions, and a handful of chopped cilantro. They also have this big ass 1/2 pound burger that comes topped with ham. Oh, and the burger is about the size of a Fiat hubcap. I have never seen a bigger burger diameter anywhere else. For the tacos, burger, and two drinks = $20. Now that $7 lunch special? Definitely two people can scarf that. Delicious, smoky bone-in chicken, beans (with pork fat), rice, tortillas, salsas rojo y verde, and tortillas= good, cheap eats. (in reference to TIme's review: So what that this place belches smoke. Just doesn't get much better than this!. I remembered a Regio's in Dallas when I worked over there. The smoke billowing out and filling the air with that wonderful fresh roasted smell you only get at Polo Regio's. Had Charro Beans, it's worth going just for the beans. Roasted chicken with that smoky taste and crunchie blacked skin. I wish there was one closer to where I live, but worth the drive. Me and my family have been coming here since we moved to Texas 6 months ago. We eat here every Sunday after church. Their food is usually great but the visit today left a taste of dissatisfaction in my mouth. Me and my husband had the steak tacos. The steak was dry and tough. It tasted like we had been served semi-warm leftover meat from the day before. The sautéed onions that accompany the tacos were cold, so were the tortillas. Also, The tortilla chips were stale and chewy. After we finished eating I ordered 3 churros, We took them to go. I work in Euless and El Pollo Regio is my go-to lunch choice on Fridays. I love driving up or near (any of these restaurants) and taking in the delicious smell of their grilled chicken. Mhm mmm mmmm. I always order the half chicken meal. This really includes a half grilled chicken, tortillas, soup and Mexican rice. I've had this meal at the school I work at and literally all of the office staff asked where I went (and of course complimented the smell of the chicken). The following Friday, we all had the same half chicken meal and the ladies loved it! My favorite thing about El Pollo Regio has got to be the green avocado hot sauce. I could eat that with anything! I am on a quest to find the best 'pollo' on this side of town! I'm going to go out on a limb and give this one five stars. Mesquite smoked, flavorful chicken, rice, charro beans, corn tortillas and a bunch of fresh lime. With all of the salsas on the side. That truly is all you need to know about this place. So much goodness involved! The 2 piece lunch special is so much food even for 1 person. You don't need any extras like sour cream honestly because the food is so flavorful on its own. They are whipping it up fresh and fast. Definitely take it to go. Also don't let the store front fool ya. I knew nothing about this chain type restaurant before but now I am a fan. I love Pollo Regio. I've been coming to this location for years and the food is almost always on point. I usually get 2 chicken and 2 steak tacos on corn tortillas with extra green sauce and a side of fries. The green sauce to me is what makes it, it's creamy and very spicy and it taste amazing with the fries. I love the tacos so much I haven't really ventured out and gotten many other things but I've been told the burritos are good as well as their potato loaded with meats. I've had the churros as well and they were very good but I don't think I've ever had a churro I didn't like. I would definetly recommend Pollo Regio read more

Really good street tacos! The Al Pastor was my favorite. The Carne Asada was good as well but a bit overcooked as the meat was chewy. They do give a great amount of meat in each taco. I love the green sauce from here. They also have chips for you to munch on while you wait for your food. They have a salsa bar too which contains many sauces, limes, and red onions. I get home open the bag and notice that the chicken is wrapped in a big piece of butcher paper, beans and rice are in separate containers wrapped in Seran wrap to prevent leakage (GREAT idea). 5 stars for packaging and presentation. On to the taste..amazing! delicious! Decadent! Juicy! Ugh I'm in love. Chicken was moist and tender (which is not always the case when grilled) that onion...oh that tender sweet grilled onion. Next time I'm ordering 2 extra, if that explains how good it was. Beans and rice top notch..even the tortillas were slightly charred..mmmm. It's also a place where the rice and beans are delicious, and not run-of-the mill boring sides. FYI, as a lunch special, the price has gone up to $8.25. It's still a deal, though.
